Bright Now! Dental review: Fraudulent practices with billing

We were provided an estimate for care. We scheduled the procedure and treatment plan as discussed and as provided with the estimate. My daughter was provided Valium and anesthesia for the procedure. After they started the procedure they informed her an additional $105 needed charged that had been overlooked and she verbally said ok. However, later when we looked at the credit card charge it was $1050 plus the credit card fee so totalled $1074! That amount was never provided in the estimate or discussed. She was under anesthesia which is not the appropriate time to discuss billing. That should have all been agreed upon ahead of time and we thought we had.

When we questioned this and complained this was not appropriate they refused to refund it and claimed it had to be charged to proceed with the procedure. They also claimed there was an updated estimate to which they never provided us. So did they make this up after the fact?

There was also pressuer for her to get veneers and same practice and an estimate which did not seem right. We questioned it and then stated without an approved quote from insurance we would not move forward on that either and sure enough that would have been denied and the estimate they provided completely incorrect by thousands of dollars.

These practices seem fraudulent and a way to snake more money from people in an underhanded way.

Additionally, the office manager was very rude to my daughter and denied any wrongdoing.

We are very disappointed and were overcharged $1074 for services which we now question if she even needed any of them.
