They scammed me
I've purchased something from BeautyOfNewYork website and was supposed to get some information, but I received no payment confirmation and no tracking number. I waited about 3 days and decided to ask them what was going on. Their rep said that my order was already on its way and promised I'll get all the necessary confirmations any time soon. One week passed and I contacted them again and this time they said that my order was cancelled because it was no longer in stock. I immediately felt that there was something wrong with these guys and asked for a refund. They said I'll get my money with few days but that did not happen! They scammed me and stole my money!
You don't actually receive your order
Beware. Website looks great. Great stuff, cool prices. But you don't actually receive your order and when you call the people at the other end just laugh and hang up. Obvious fraud to me.
I am so done with this site! In the past, I have ordered hair product from them with no problem, but recently I placed an order for my mother-in-law to be shipped to her address. The order never arrived, and weeks later, I call the Beauty of New York office to find out what happened to it. I was informed that "they only ship to the billing address", but no one notified me of this! The guy on the phone said there's a disclaimer somewhere on the site, but that is bull-why wouldn't it simply refuse the order up front! Never again will they get my business!
so far, it's been great. i did make a phone call to check to see if they answer their phone and of course, called on a Saturday. BeautyofNewYork has done well by me. But i will tell of you one place that i will not order from again. Ebonyline.com. Obviously, they're chinese? but they have a chick who does a "ValleyGirl" impression to make you think you're speaking to an American. It's obvious. What's worse? I decided i did not want a wig in a strange color they had offered me over the phone? guess what? what they still charged my Credit Card. the last wig i ordered was a piece of crap, plus it took almost a month to get here. thank gawd i didn't pay for "Overnight".. Plus, the wig was supposed to be a #2, i received a second choice of #1b. It was JET BLACK.. It's called "Born Free Cutie Wig"..it's curly.. don't bother with that wig.. otherwise, if BeautyofNewYork screws up? i'll be the first one to post and tell everyone here.
I ordered 5 products from Beautyofnewyork.com and was very impressed. They take payment through PayPal and delivered my order faster than I anticipated. The site is very easy to use and accurate. I'm not sure what Ingrid ordered but I'm satisfied with this company. The only problem I have is the wigs don't show various views (back or sides). I'm ordering more products because the prices are very good. I live in an area where I can't buy these products.
