Unable to return merchandise because local store closed
I have 30 days to return merchandise per my receipt. I went back to the store today (16 days later) and the store is permanently closed. I tried to return like you would return if you purchased online but they won't take store bought merchandise. They only way to return is to a different store. I called the store and they would not accept a package from me and I MUST return in person. Per customer support, even if the closest store is hundreds of miles away you have to return to another store.
Claimed loss: Wasted an hour today driving to the closed store and back. Now I have to go to a store farther away and waste more gas and time to return the item
Desired outcome: Provide me with a no charge return via UPS, USPS FEDEX and a refund.

Potential Fraud Alerts
I had 3 orders "cancelled" by Banana Republic! I am a VIP member and have their Barclays card. Called numerous times and NO ONE could help or tell me how to fix this. I ordered online many times to my current address and never had a problem. By the 5th call they were getting really nasty with me, saying I had to shop in person in the store, WOW, JUST WOW!
I have a very high credit score and there were NO issues on the Barclays side, for some reason the retailer flagged me as Potential Fraud, even when I used a different credit card to pay for my order and passed every security question they asked, WOW, JUST WOW.
They have jobs because people like me spend a lot of money in their store, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN WORSE FRAUD POLICY AND PROCEDURE!

Factory order # 1hcwf00 not received.
Good afternoon,
My name is Malgorzata Otero and I'm contacting you regarding my Banana Republic Factory order # 1HCWF00.
I have not received my order and contacted your customer service via chat. I was sent a link to file the claim. I filed the claim on 3/4/2024 and received a reply informing me that you are unable to process a refund. Claim reference# cniui4ectrvts4gqgbr0.
I don't understand why you are unable to process a refund or issue a store credit. I placed my order, paid for it and have not received the item.
As your frequent buyer, I'm very disappointed with the outcome.
I ask you to review my claim again and issue a refund or store credit.
Thank you.
Malgorzata Otero

refusal to exchange product purchased online
I purchased online a pair of shorts on 31 July 2023. The shorts ordered were pink and of size 30. I received a white pair of size 29. I tried to return them in the store yesterday and was advised that it was passed the 30 return window and therefore there was nothing they could do. I contacted the Customer service today (24 Sept) and received the same answer adding that there was not flexibility whatsoever due the system they use. Other than apologizing for the fact, nothing else to try to help solve the issue was offered.
While I understand that the return policy is 30 days, I was hoping for a little bit of flexibility since the original mistake had been made by them.
Desired outcome: exchange of the shorts for the right one or a credit for future purchase
Customer service
Please help!
I purchased a linen blouse ($85) at the Banana Republic at Green Hills Mall while visiting Nashville on 6/14/23. The blouse didn’t work for me so within 1 week, I called the store to verify the address to return the blouse with tags and receipt intact. I was told that returns can only be made in person. I explained that I live 2 hours from Nashville. I called BR.com, explained the situation and asked how I can make this return. They elevated my request and agreed to allow me to make the return by mail in exchange for a BR gift card. I mailed the return, noting my case # (supplied upon request) on the inside and outside of the package on 6/27/23 and was never notified it was received.
Upon follow up, I was told it was received and I should expect a BR credit within the next 6-8 weeks. It is now 9 weeks and I have heard nothing. I have called BR customer service 3 times and each time have been told that they must transfer me to another dept. to handle this since there is a case#. Each time I held for 30 minutes before finally hanging up. I have held for a "live on line chat" but once I mention that I have a case#, I am put on hold indefinitely.
Have I dropped into another century? Has BR dropped into another century? Please just send me my merchandise credit! BTW, I've shopped at BR literally since they opened their doors decades ago. Have also bought probably 50 pairs of GAP jeans in my life. You could probably get by with this nonsense in a pre-Amazon world, but that world doesn't exist anymore!
Desired outcome: Issue the Banana Republic credit I was assured on 6/27/23 I would receive.
Banana Republic Review: From Daring and Innovative to Good Quality, But Not as Unique
Banana Republic is a store that has been around for a while now. It was started by someone in Mexico who wanted to make some money by selling bootleg copies of all their products. When it first started, it was a really cool store that sold everything Indiana Jones might need on his next adventure. The stores had jeeps sticking halfway out of the window and elephant tusks and terrific safari jackets. It was really daring and innovative.
Not everyone who buys this stuff intends to go on safari, they just want to look like they just came back. But then the GAP bought it and removed all the things that made it interesting and raised the prices. It's not as cool as it used to be, but it's still a good store.
I have 3 safari jackets from the old Banana Republic and they're all really good value and quality. The design and quality of the old safari jacket was unique to them. They were really well made and lasted a long time. I also have a $110 belt from the new Banana Republic. It's a nice belt, but it's not as unique as the old safari jackets were. It's just a regular belt that you could get anywhere.
Overall, Banana Republic is a good store. They have some nice clothes and accessories, but they're not as unique as they used to be. If you're looking for something that's really different and cool, you might want to look somewhere else. But if you just want some nice clothes that are good quality, Banana Republic is a good choice.
Disappointed with Banana Republic Winter Wardrobe: A Review
I gotta say, I've been using my Banana Republic card like crazy for the past three months. I was trying to rack up enough points to get myself a whole new winter wardrobe. But let me tell you, I'm pretty disappointed with what I got.
First off, the clothes just don't fit right. I mean, I'm not a big person or anything, but those herringbone seafarer pants were like wearing a parachute. And get this, the model they used in the picture was supposed to be the same height as me! I don't know what kind of magic they used to make those pants look good on her, but they definitely didn't work for me. I looked like a total goofball.
And don't even get me started on those brushed marl pants. They might as well have been pajamas, because there's no way I could wear those out in public. I mean, I like to be comfortable and all, but I don't want to look like I just rolled out of bed.
The turtleneck wasn't much better. I didn't even notice in the description that there was a seam down the back. Who does that? I could have gotten a better fitting and better looking turtleneck at JCPenney.
The only thing that was worth keeping was the alpaca sweater. It's super soft and cuddly, although it does have a bit of a scratchy feel to it. But hey, at least it looks good and keeps me warm.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with my Banana Republic experience. I was hoping for some stylish and well-fitting clothes, but instead I got a bunch of duds. I don't think I'll be shopping there again anytime soon.
Disappointed in Banana Republic's Recent Designs: Too Weird for Workwear
I've been shopping at Banana Republic for a long time, like 15 years long. But lately, I've been feeling like their clothes are just plain weird. It's like their designers are taking inspiration from Dr. Seuss or something. I used to love their classic, yet stylish clothes, and I would spend around $2,000 a year there. But last season, I didn't buy anything, and this season is just as bad. The clothes are over-accessorized and made from crazy fabrics that just don't work in a corporate environment. They make sexy and feminine clothes look ridiculous. I'm so disappointed in Banana Republic. I really hope they hire some designers who can make appropriate workwear for women. And I'm not the only one who feels this way. A lot of my friends have stopped shopping there too.
Poor Customer Service Experience at Banana Republic Toronto Premium Outlet
I recently visited Banana Republic at the Toronto Premium Outlet and had an experience that left a bad taste in my mouth. I had my brother's employee discount card with me and was hoping to use it for my purchase. However, I was informed by the lady at the checkout register that they could not honor the discount unless my brother was present with me. I understood the policy and proceeded to make my purchase without the discount.
Later on, my brother happened to be in the area and we decided to try and get the discount applied to my purchase. When we approached the same lady at the checkout register, she was extremely rude and unhelpful. She gave us a lecture about how we couldn't use the discount card without the owner present and made us feel like we were trying to cheat the system. This was despite the fact that I had used the same card before without any issues.
Her negative attitude and lack of customer service skills were extremely disappointing. I felt disrespected and undervalued as a customer. It's a shame because I have always enjoyed shopping at Banana Republic, but because of this experience, I don't think I will be returning anytime soon.
Overall, I think Banana Republic needs to work on their customer service training for their employees. It's important to treat customers with respect and kindness, even if they are not able to use a discount or coupon. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make changes to improve the shopping experience for their customers.
Disappointing Experience with Banana Republic: Out of Stock Item and Inconvenience
I gotta say, I had a pretty disappointing experience with Banana Republic. I was really excited to get my hands on this dress I had my eye on, so I placed an order on July 15th. I was eagerly waiting for it to arrive, but then 6 days later on July 21st, I got an email saying that the item was out of stock. What the heck, Banana Republic?! Why did you let me complete the order and take my money if you didn't even have the item in stock? It's not like I'm made of money and can just throw it around like that.
Honestly, this whole situation has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I'll be ordering from Banana Republic again, or any of their affiliates for that matter. It's a real shame because I usually get most of my kids' clothes from the Gap, but if this is how Banana Republic operates, I don't want to risk it. I'm usually a pretty chill person, but waiting almost a week for an item that I thought was on its way, only to find out it's not even available? That's just ridiculous.
Sure, they're going to refund my money, but that's not the point. I wanted that dress! And now I have to go through the hassle of looking elsewhere and hoping I can find something that will arrive on time. The only silver lining is that they gave me a 10% discount on my next order, but honestly, I don't think that's enough to make up for the inconvenience.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with Banana Republic. They really dropped the ball on this one.
Decent Shopping Experience at Banana Republic, But Watch Out for Mistakes
I gotta say, Banana Republic is a pretty decent place to shop for clothes. I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years now, and I gotta say, I've had some pretty good experiences with them. But let me tell you, if you make a mistake, you better watch out!
So here's what happened. I ordered something online, and I got the dates mixed up. I thought the delivery date was the same as the order date, but it turns out I was a couple days late. When I tried to return the item, they wouldn't let me! Can you believe that? After all these years of being a loyal customer, they couldn't even make an exception for me.
Now, I get it. Rules are rules, and they gotta stick to 'em. But come on, Banana Republic! You're supposed to be better than that. I mean, they mess up all the time - they deliver late, they send the wrong stuff, they don't meet your expectations - and that's all okay. But if you make an innocent mistake, forget about it.
Anyway, I'm not gonna let this ruin my relationship with Banana Republic. I'll still shop there, but I'll be more careful next time. And if they mess up again, I'll be sure to let 'em know. But in the meantime, I'm gonna check out some other options for buying clothes. You never know, I might find something even better!
Disappointing Experience with Banana Republic's Website: A Review
I gotta say, I'm not one to write reviews about websites, but I just had to let y'all know about my experience with bananarepublic.com. I'm a big fan of online shopping, I mean who has time to go to stores these days, am I right? And let me tell you, I know a thing or two about how online shopping should work.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love me some physical Banana Republic stores, but their website? Never again. I had an email coupon from them that I could only use online, so I decided to order three things. After waiting for almost a whole month for my order to arrive, I finally get an email from them saying they're sorry, but they don't have any of the items I ordered. Are you kidding me? What kind of inventory control is that?
To make matters worse, they only offered me a measly 10% apology coupon to use on their website. Like, seriously? That's supposed to make up for almost a month of waiting and then being told they don't have what I ordered? I was beyond disappointed.
Thankfully, I had stopped by the store while waiting for my order to arrive and was able to pick up two of the things I had ordered. So not all was lost, but still. I expected better from Banana Republic. Needless to say, I won't be shopping on their website again anytime soon.
Disappointed with Banana Republic: Poor Quality, Terrible Customer Service, and Online Nightmares
I gotta say, I'm feeling pretty bummed about Banana Republic lately. I've been a loyal customer for over 30 years, but the quality of their clothes has really taken a nosedive in recent years. It's like they're cutting corners wherever they can, using cheap materials and not bothering to size their clothes in any kind of logical way. And don't even get me started on their customer service - it's a total joke.
If you're thinking about ordering online, I'd advise against it. It's a total nightmare. And even if you do manage to place an order, good luck getting any help if something goes wrong. Their customer service reps ask way too many personal questions before they'll even talk to you, and it's just ridiculous. I mean, I get that they want to protect your account, but come on.
Honestly, if Banana Republic put half as much effort into their clothes and customer service as they do into security, I'd still be a customer. But as it stands, I've had it. I've started shopping at J. Crew again after a 25-year hiatus (no pun intended), and I've also been checking out Nordstrom and a few local boutiques. It's a real shame, because I used to love Banana Republic. But I guess all good things must come to an end.
Banana Republic's New Manager is a Nightmare: A Customer's Review
I used to be a regular at Banana Republic, spending around $1500 every year. But lately, things have gone downhill. They brought in a new store manager, Shawna, who is just the worst. I've seen her treat employees terribly, even berating them in front of customers. It's just not right.
I can't imagine what it must be like to work for someone like that. I've gotten to know a few of the employees, and they're not a happy bunch. It's really sad to see. And it's not just me who feels this way. I've talked to other customers who are also fed up with the way things are going.
If you believe that people should be treated with respect and kindness, then I urge you to take your business elsewhere. Don't support a company that allows this kind of behavior from its management. It's just not worth it.
I really hope that Banana Republic takes action and gets rid of Shawna. Until then, I won't be shopping there anymore. And I know I'm not alone in that decision.
Disappointing Experience with Banana Republic: Size Guide Misleading and Poor Customer Service
So, I recently bought a pair of corduroy pants from Banana Republic's website. I used their size guide to determine which size to order, and I thought I had it all figured out. But when the pants arrived, they didn't fit me at all. I was pretty disappointed, but I figured I could just return them to the store and get a refund.
When I got to the store, though, things didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. The receipt said that the sale was final, which I hadn't noticed before. I explained the situation to the manager, and I asked if there was anything she could do to help me out. I suggested maybe a store credit or something like that. But she just told me that I had to send the pants back to the website to get a refund.
I was pretty frustrated at this point, and I tried to explain that it wasn't my fault that the pants didn't fit. I had used their size guide, after all. But the manager just got really defensive and started raising her voice at me. She even scoffed at me when I suggested the store credit idea.
Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience at Banana Republic. I had always thought of them as a pretty reputable store, but this whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I'll be shopping there again anytime soon.
Women's trench coat
I ordered a women's trench coat in Oct 2020 and I received a trench coat with the security tag attached as well as a black stain on the coat. I immediately ordered another coat received it with no problem. Well this is during the height of covid-19 so I was sick as well as some family via hospitalization unfortunately so my first line of duties was not about returning coat. Now just having an opportunity to go thru my closet I see I need to return coat attempted to call and explain they told me about return policy and that there is nothing they can do for me. Well this incident not needed if they would have taken customer care in the first place. I didn't send myself a ruined coat they did. I want them to take their coat back and give me a full refund. By the way both ladies I spoke with were rude and unprofessional and don't meet the standards of what supposedly BR used to stand for. I also have attempted to get the corporate # no one seems to know it how odd. I know I am being discriminated against because I have an Asian friend of mind who had the exact situation I am having they quickly refunded her money, she returned item and they gave her a coupon for one item at half off with no exceptions. Thxs
Desired outcome: A full refund
Incorrect order
I received a different item than the one I had ordered. Instead of just sending me the correct item, like every other retailer I've ever dealt with, BR/Gap's policy is that I have to go out of my way to return the incorrect item, wait for a refund, go through the whole process of placing a new order, and wait for that to be delivered and hope it is correct. This is unacceptable. I live in a rural area that is not close to any brick and mortar stores or close to any shipping options besides the local post office. It would take me hours to drive to a UPS store to complete a return. So now I am being penalized even further for their mistake and am expected to take hours out of my day to correct it?
Desired outcome: I want to be shipped the correct item without having to go through the absurd return process
Customer service
Banana Republic Park Royal Store is not only where customer service ends but where harassing and threatening of the customer by the senior staff of the store begin! The rude and demeaning behavior of the staff in this store was a reminder that if we, as patrons to these stores do not insist on proper service, sooner than later we will treated as in the worst underdeveloped countries where customers' rights and respect is nothing but a far cry. The staff who introduced themselves as managers not only did not even try the least to show the slightest empathy to the concern of the customer who had bought a defective (torn) product from their Factory Outlet Store [same company, same brand, another channel of revenue] the day before, but they refused to provide any assistance as to even try to find a solution to facilitate the return/exchange process (eg. contacting senior management or customer service line). Instead they harassed and threatened the customer to be removed from the store by the security solely for voicing his concerns loudly and "demanding good service." A total failure in providing proper service that you do not even expect from your local convenience store let alone a well-recognized brand. (As bad as a case study in a course in customer service.) While I acknowledge that after leaving the store, despondent and harassed, I managed to contact the customer service line to escalate the issue and to voice my concern, which was positively received yet without providing any follow-up or much a meaningful remedy but $30 GC! I still strongly insist that it is upon the companies and their senior management to take any and every measure to not only improve their customer service at the store level but also to devise ways in which proper service in any step of the retail process (including e-commerce) is maintained and facilitated!
Pants fit - new fit
Hi finally I found the perfect pants at banana republic - the perfect length fit and stretch. This was about 2 years ago. Recently I needed another pair. I went down to the store to get the exact style but when I put it on a couple of days later it was a totally different fit. It was too short, not fitted - totally different from the pair before even though it was the exact same size and style. And just to confirm I was right I measured them and lo and behold they are different. Finally I found a tiny label with numbers - which matched up exactly except on the bottom the original pair says sum21 and the new one says spr22. Meaning they switched up the fit-and i'm distraught - is there something you can do? Is there a way for you to get a hold of the old fit for me? Please, it really means a lot to me.
Thank you
Desired outcome: get me a hold of these pants
"Balance transfer not received"
The lack of process that BR has demonstrated is astounding! I have written regarding a balance transfer that did not happen with an ACH deposit within 7-10 days from request 12/08/22. No manager knew if the ACH happened or not; however, a check posted to my checking account on 01/04/23 (almost a month after the initial request). With a proper process in place I could have been informed when I inquired on 12/28/22, that a check was sent instead of an ACH. Given this information could not be found anywhere by a manager, the case that was opened by a manager, returned the check back to BR costing me a $35 returned check fee from my bank. This is appalling!
Desired outcome: Refund of $35.00
