Filson has always done right by me! I have several of their tin cloth clothes and couldn't be happier. They have all held up to many years of use and abuse. I can't speak as to the other people's experiences, but I have never had a problem with their customer service department.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from Filson, but they only sent me one thing. I checked online and it said the rest of my stuff was still being worked on. I tried calling customer service, but I had to wait forever and then they hung up on me. I tried three times and wasted over two hours on hold before I finally got to talk to someone. The guy I talked to was so full of himself and didn't care at all. He didn't want to tell me anything about my missing item. I even sent an email, but they haven't bothered to reply. I'm really bummed out by the crappy customer service from Filson. I'm definitely gonna take my business somewhere else next time.

Order *** from June . Filson field jacket in 3XL. This jacket is messed up 'cause I can't even fit my hands in the side pockets without hurting myself. I initially got the XL, but had the same problem, so I figured a bigger size would fix it, but nope, the pockets are still way too high up on the chest. What's the point of having a jacket with pockets you can't use? I wanna send this brand new jacket back and get my money back or store credit.

Order *** - I tried the XL trench coat because I wear an XL in the packer coat, but the trench is too narrow in the shoulders for an XL. I would have done an exchange but they're sold out. I shipped it back and they're charging me *** for shipping. As usual, a customer can spend 2-3 grand there, but sooner or later they get tone-deaf and greedy and go for a few extra charges. No way. Returns are free with this defective jacket.

Filson is like, you know, all about quality and stuff. But, like, I got this shirt from them, right? And I washed it, like, twice and it totally shrank, man. It went down, like, a whole size! I mean, come on! I buy from Filson 'cause they're American and I even met the old owner, dude. So, I called them up and told them what happened. At first, they were like, "Yeah, we'll replace it, bro." But then, they just sent me this coupon for 25% off my next buy. Not cool, man. Not cool at all.

I bought a leather wrapped flask 'bout 5 years ago. The leather is startin' to separate from the flask. I reached out to Filson 'cause they got a lifetime repair or replace guarantee. Sadly, they ain't gonna honor the guarantee 'cause they said it's just normal wear and tear and that leather shrinks over time. I took real good care of the flask and the failure ain't 'cause of normal wear and tear. Filson did offer me an e-gift card worth $29.90, which ain't even close to the cost of a new flask (around $95). A lifetime guarantee don't mean nothin' if the manufacturer finds a way to blame the customer instead of their own product!

I returned stuff to Filson twice. One box had a sweater (tracking # ***), and the other had a sweater and a duffle bag (order # ***, tracking # ***). The tracking says the box with the medium-sized sweater and duffle bag got delivered and signed for on 01/21 by "Banks". They only paid me back for the sweater. The other box is still in the middle of being delivered to Filson. I spent hours on the phone with Filson, called like 5 times or more, and wrote over a dozen emails. Every email I sent, the Filson people said they would fix the problem soon and that someone would call me back, but nobody ever did. They hardly reply to most of my emails. This kind of customer service is not okay. They could at least call or write back to me. It's been over 4 months now.

On 6/13, I bought a bag from *** (order #***). It got delivered on 6/18. But, I noticed the bag had problems, so I sent it back the next week on 6/27 (got it on 7/7 according to the return tracking #***). I wrote down the problems on the return form. *** didn't tell me anything, but later I found out they rejected my return, saying the bag wasn't in a condition to be returned. I've told them many times that the bag already had problems when I got it, and I was just sending back the bag they sent me. I couldn't have damaged the bag because I only had it for a week. At one point, *** customer service on the phone even said that some wear and tear can be normal, but I bought the same thing from another *** authorized seller, and that one didn't have any wear or problems at all. Today is 8/15, and I haven't heard anything about a refund, so I'm making a complaint.

I ordered a belt (order [protected]) on January 17, hoping it would be delivered to my military/diplomatic pouch address in London. But guess what? They sent it all the way to Rabat, Morocco! Can you believe it? I've been emailing Filson like three or four times since February, and I've chatted with their reps twice. They keep telling me that since the item shows as delivered, I should go and get it from Rabat. Seriously? I can't just hop on a plane to Morocco for a belt!

And to make matters worse, because of this whole COVID19 thing, the mailroom at that place won't even bother looking for one measly item. And even if they find it, it'll probably take ages to send it back to the U.S. I mean, come on! I needed this belt weeks ago, and now I'm stuck dealing with all this frustration, wasted time, and stress. It's not worth the $80 I paid for it, that's for sure.

What really gets me is that Filson doesn't seem to care about their reputation or goodwill. They say their hands are tied because their system shows the item as "available to pick up." But that's just plain outrageous! The item is actually sitting in a country thousands of miles away. Can you believe the nerve?

Overall, this whole situation has been a major letdown. I expected better from Filson, but I guess they don't value their customers or their own reputation. Such a shame.

I bought your donegal Jac shirt on 12/24. I sent it back to you after the holidays using your return ups label. Tracking number xxxxxxxxxxxx was signed for by "banks" on 1/21. I've called at least six times since then, waiting on hold for at least 45 minutes each time, just to check on my refund. On 2/14, I chatted with Meagan on your website. She said the jac shirt was checked in on 2/2. She explained that you were behind schedule and your policy is to issue refunds after 14 days. She said my refund would be sent to me between 2/21-2/28. That's a really long time, longer than what you claim on your website. Anyway, I said okay and have been patiently waiting. Today is 3/3 and I still haven't received my refund of the $275 I paid for the jacket. I also haven't received the $100 gift card that I used to pay for the jacket. The refund for the gift card should have happened the last time I spoke to someone, so I could have bought the other item I wanted. But now it's sold out because it took an incredibly long time to get any kind of response to my issue.

I got this flannel shirt from Filson C C Company Clothing Manufacturers as a gift in early December 2022 (Order #SO063674333; placed November 29, 2022). The medium size was a bit big for me, so I sent it back on December 14, 2022 using the return label they provided. I wanted to exchange it for a smaller size. It's been almost a month now, and I haven't heard anything. No confirmation, no updates, no credit, nothing at all. The tracking info shows that the company received it on December 19, 2022 (signed for by someone named ***). I emailed them on December 28, but they didn't respond. Later that day, I called their customer service number, and the person on the line said they were actively working on it and that I would get the credit within a few hours. But nothing came. I called again on January 3, 2023, and the representative said they didn't actually start processing it until December 28 (9 days after they received it). They said it was still being processed but didn't give me any idea of when I would get the credit. It's been a week since then, and I still haven't received anything. On January 9, 2023, I sent another email, but they didn't reply. This delay, along with the complete lack of communication, is just not acceptable. It's not a small amount of money either.

On November 17th, I got my order from Filson. I ordered eight clothes in different sizes, but I decided to return all except one. They arrived at 12:11 pm, and I sent them back at 1:57 pm on the same day. So, I only had them for less than 2 hours. The clothes were packed nicely in the box, with tags still on and unworn, just like their return policy says. Sadly, Filson only gave me some money back for the order. At first, they didn't explain why. When I contacted customer service, they said they never got some of the items. I got worried, so I showed them my receipts and made a claim with *** and PayPal. Later, a customer service person said that three items had a weird smell and had been worn, so they were sending them back to me. I've tried reaching out to customer service many times since then, but they haven't replied. They won't even tell me what this "weird smell" is. Tonight, I got the items they claimed had a smell, but there's no smell at all. The clothes are still in perfect condition, just like when I sent them back. I mean, I had 8 clothes for less than 2 hours, so how could I have possibly "worn" them in such a short time? I've never had such a bad experience returning things or such terrible customer service in my life. If I'm being nice, I could think they made a mistake because they can't seem to communicate well with their changing story. But the fact that they don't contact me or follow up makes it seem more like a total scam.

I've been a Filson customer for almost 40 years, and this is my first complaint. I've had an ongoing issue since mid-October with a fly-fishing vest. I contacted customer service, and they asked me to send the vest in for possible repair or resolution. They sent the vest back, claiming it was irreparable, which is not true! I asked to speak to a customer service supervisor and eventually got an email from one. They asked for photos and any information about the vest. They already had the vest before, so why do they need photos now? It's not very efficient! That's strike one. I sent photos of my vest and over 25 other Filson items I've bought over the years, hoping to prove that I'm a loyal customer. The customer service supervisor kept delaying contact and saying, "We haven't reached a resolution yet." It felt like they were dismissing me, and I had to keep calling and emailing to pursue this case. That's strike two. After finally getting an email from the customer service supervisor saying they would call me on a specific day, I waited a whole week after their promise, and still no response! That's both insulting and disrespectful. Strike three. I emailed them back, telling them that they didn't keep their word and questioning if this is how the company operates or if it's just the supervisor's way of dealing with "another annoying customer." I understand that I might be considered a small customer, but loyal customers like me are the reason for the company's success. This kind of poor treatment doesn't reflect well on the Filson image. I hope the new CEO can read this complaint and see that their customer service needs improvement.
