Atlantic Van Lines Moving/storage

Worst experience ever. Once we signed the papers it was all down hill from there.

On moving day: they were 4+hours late to the house (also the day before closing day so it was extra stressy). There was NO communication on when the truck would show up... but it came at 1030pm. The guys packed fast but also didn't sticker evey single item (don't make make that mistake!). They left at 1230am.

The lead mover assured me our stuff would be ok if I just signed for a base weight versus being weighed out and charged more. So I signed.

There was NO discussion on declaring value for items or the option for buying additional insurance. This was allegedly discussed up to 3 times before hand but there is NO copy of any of that in all 20+ emails. Only what was signed at 1230am on moving day.

Item Arrival: once our items arrived it was a total circus. Literally everything we owned was PILED into our living room, and we mean PILED. The baby change table was placed long way up on top of boxes like a tower, are you kidding me?

When we started unpacking we noticed many items were broken or were missing. But how could we actually tell if not everything had a tracking ticker on it. We were told by our claims person that we had 10 DAYS to make a one time claim (it actually says 20 on the back of the paper!). We made a claim for thousands of dollars of broken things; every dresser we moved was broken and dirty, shelves were completely garbage that they literally fell apart upon arrival. Items had huge dark dirt smears and coffee ring stains... almost like it had been lived with in a crack house.

My FAVOURITE was our double bagged mattresses arrived WITH NO BAGS AND LITERAL FOOT PRINTS on them. I'm talking size 12 boot prints all over our mattresses. What the actual hell?!

Once the mandatory 10 wks for processing passed, I was contacted by someone claiming to be the General Manager of Operations.

They did not review the claim or look at any of the detailed photos that were included. In over 20 emails we were only offered a $40 refund.

$40. Our total bill was over $9, 000. That is 0.004%. A complete insult and farce. Especially since mny items had to be replaced... like all the dressers.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE, you will not be rewarded with anything but lost and broken items and some random rug that belonged to someone else.

I hope this company is plaqued by poor internet service and a paper shortage to highly inconvenience them. I can't even express how truly mad we are and how pur items will never be replaced because of their lack of customer service and basic business morals.

Atlantic Van Lines A Company dishonestly caused a large financial loss to me

"Atlantic Van Lines" management deliberately and illegally takes money from the customers by not following standard service rules. They give you the preliminary estimate, and after you pay a non-refundable deposit of 500 $, they increase the weight 2-3 times, without giving you Government-certified scaling though they charge 50$ for that. I am surprised how the company organized way doing their activities causing illegal financial loss to customers, a company working since long in Canada for so many years. There are hundreds of bad reviews about their illegal activities on the website. I used the "company" to send my 2-bed apartment items from Montreal to Edmonton, they initially gave an estimate for 2000 lbs., 1060 $, after I paid a non-refundable $ 500, they increased the estimate to 2574 lbs.- 1364$. When I booked the item's pickup date, they gave an estimate of 3920 lbs., 2077 $. When they have collected the items, they gave an estimate of 6725 lbs., 3918 $. They never gave me the certificate of scaling, when I asked they were silent. They took 6725 lbs. from my apartment, gave me Bill of Lading, and delivered 6125 lbs., i.e. 500 lbs. less, the items for beds are lost and I cannot assemble two beds. I have all documents to prove their financially illegal acts with me. So, those who are financially suffered by the service of this company, pl. file a complaint on the Canada Government website, I am filing a complaint, if anyone wants to share with me their info or submit a complaint I will support it.

Atlantic Van Lines Never move with Atlantic Van Lines

We had booked a long distance move with this company. The person sitting in the office seemed friendly and capable and we were told that our stuff would be carried in a single van and would be delivered on time. Not only was our stuff delivered late, but almost everything that was delivered was either crushed or damaged. Plus we were told by the local movers at our destination that this company did a cash only business with all their contractors–in fact one of them boasted about how he got away without having to pay any taxes. That’s when we realized why the company was pressuring us to pay for the delivery in cash. Extremely disappointed in their service and their lack of ethics. Not only did they cheat us but they are also cheating the government.
