Aspire Credit Card reviews and complaints
Credit card
I have 2 aspire credit cards was the worst mistake of my life stay away from this company. I have had the credit cards for about 2 years and had made my payments on the app like clockwork. Nothing late ever ! I made my normal payments and the app said I was caught up. I then looked a couple days later and it showed I didn’t pay it and that on top of that I...

Had this card for cpl years, then out of the blue they report me to themselves as dead and suspend my acct.
Called customer service, explained I was very much alive ie. Went through the security scrutiny and all. Then they say I have to provice them with documents to prove I am alive.
Well it seems they didnt have to prove I was dead, for them to declare me dead.
They wont lift the suspension.
Their customer service is a joke.

Stole money despite payment cancellation confirmation
I set up a payment with this company but due to financial issues I was already having, I had to cancel the payment and try and see when I could catch up at a later date. I cancelled the payment the day before the payment was supposed to process in which I received a text message stating the cancellation was successful and I was giving a confirmation number...

I have had this card less that twenty four hours and they have locked my card 15 times. They tell me that they block charges if they deem them unsafe. Even though I told them I was the one trying to make the purchases they still refuse to let me use the card for what I want. They are a scam company and will be closing this account and never using anything they are a part of ever again. They dictate what you can and can not use your card on but you are responsible to pay it. This is ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Desired outcome: For them to be forced to close and all credits be wiped from everyone who uses this card.
Will not honor an agreement made to make a final payment to close the account.
Admittedly I got behind on my payments due to the covid pandemic. When I was able to pay them off, I did. Before making the payoff amount I thought I was very clear that I wanted the account closed. Then received a bill for maintenance fees because of a $12.00 balance. Of which I thought it was crazy, and then of course late fees were then added. I have spoken to so many different individuals and then to a supervisor, several times. I was willing to pay my late fee because I shorted them on my payoff amount. I spoke to a supervisor who told me that if I paid $90.00 it would be good enough to end any further late fees. and the account would be closed. I have been asking to have the account closed all to no avail. This has been going on since January. I did pay the 90.00 dollars and today I was told the account has never been closed and they are still charging me the maintenance fees monthly with the late fees.
The reasoning behind the charges of maintenance fees, and late fees, is as I was told tonight, that there were no notes in the computer about the conversation of ending this drama with the $90.00 payment.
I did believe we had a severe communication issue. I am now quite certain that because of the amount of phones calls, my inability
to understand the customer service agent, that I am a target, of some sort and I will not be treated fairly in any way. Unless I pay the now $134.60. Everytime I get one of their notices, their end is always just a couple dollars higher.

failure to report paid in full
Years ago I fell on hard times and defaulted on several credit cards. I had no money to pay them so I stuck on the back shelf waiting for a time when I could take care of them. I finally was able to do this last year. All my cards had a $200 or $250 limit and with all the interest became $2500 or more each. I had 2 capital one and one aspire visa cards. I made arrangements to pay the compromised amount ($1, 600 each) for Capital One and paid those off then called Aspire. I tried to get the $2, 500 down a bit but they wouldn't budge. I had made a couple $500 payments so really I was looking for a reduction for the $1500. No Deal! I already paid them 4times the amount charged on the account and still wouldn't deal. OK I borrowed money and paid the full amount. Aspire was to have reported the account paid and closed to the credit reporting agency within 90-days. It has been 1 year and they still have not reported. I called and was directed to the collection division. When I punched in my social the automation sent me to a collection agency that said I was not in their system. They told me to call someone else who said the amount was paid. They said to call Aspire again. I did that again and went round and round. I have yet to get someone from the company to fix this. My next e-mail will be to the BBB and Attorney generals office and the credit reporting agency and the fair credit act to make formal complaints.

I have had this credit card for over 2 years. I have had nothing but problem's with this company. Every time I go to use this card I have to call them because they will not allow me to charge on it for no reason. I call them and they make up excuses as to why I cannot use this card. The first time I filed a complaint they closed my account because they did not update my information after I called them and notified them of my change of address. They said that I would have to pay off the remaining balance and re-apply in one year. I went to the corporate office and I spoke with a lady and she admitted they were wrong and she opened my account back up and gave me additional credit.
Now today I called in they said that I called them and told them not to contact me so they closed my account. I asked when did I call because I have not had any reason to contact them. They refused to give me any information about MY ACCOUNT! I was hung up on. I have been reading blogs about this company and many of consumers like myself have had problems with this company!

I just got this card and when I tried to make a purchase at Bed Bath and Beyond it was declined. I tried to use it on amazon and it was also declined. But it says I owe them $150.00 and I haven't been able to spend one penny on it. I would definitely say this card is a hoax.
