I purchased a MacBook Pro in December 2025. On 5/29/2026 the Battery wasn't charging, the battery setting advised "Service Recommended." I made an appointment at the Genius Bar. After checking laptop functions representative said he wanted to remove the laptop cover and look inside the laptop. Representative stated the laptop had sat in coffee, and liquid had steeped into components, it was stained inside. I have never spilled liquid around my laptop. I have owned this laptop for less than 6 months and don't feel I should be required to pay $1,500 for what seems to be a refurbished laptop. Upon my inspection of the laptop, it seems the bottom of the laptop has dried streaks/stripes (3 to 4" long and 1-2" wide) of brown stains in two places, the bottom of the laptop is all scratched up, even the plastic plate is broken off at the tip or corner. None of this was reported by the representative. He only advised not to fix the laptop but keep using it as is, that I did not have to install any future updates. I paid $2500 for the MacBook Pro laptop and now don't have all the required security features. It means I cannot safely do on-line shopping or banking? I believe this is a refurbished model. I want Apple to stand by their product and provide me with a new MacBook Pro or refund the money I paid...
Desired outcome: I would like a new MacBook Pro laptop with the same chip/features I purchased..
