Title: Serious Apple Watch Series 7 Safety Complaint – Burn Injuries and Unresolved Consumer Dispute
I am posting this complaint regarding a serious unresolved safety issue involving my Apple Watch Series 7 Nike Edition (45mm GPS + Cellular). The device had been used normally for around two years when it allegedly overheated/caught fire while in use and caused severe burn injuries on the wrist. The incident also resulted in property damage, including burnt curtains inside the house.
Medical treatment was immediately required, and supporting medical documents, photographs, and other evidence were later shared with Apple Support, Executive Relations, and Customer Relations teams. The matter was internally categorized by Apple under “CR – Safety Complaint” and “Consumer Law,” and multiple reference IDs were assigned during the escalation process.
Initially, Apple representatives acknowledged the seriousness of the matter and repeatedly contacted us for additional information and medical documentation. However, despite full cooperation and submission of all requested records, Apple ultimately denied any meaningful compensation or satisfactory resolution. Communication later became extremely limited, and support representatives stated that Executive Relations had already made their final decision and they could not comment further.
The matter was also escalated through the National Consumer Helpline (NCH). During that process, Apple reportedly stated that they would contact the legal representative handling the matter, but no such follow-up communication or meaningful resolution was ever received.
At present, the issue remains unresolved despite the seriousness of the injuries, supporting evidence, and repeated escalation attempts. I am sharing this publicly in the hope that the matter receives proper review, accountability, and attention from the company and relevant authorities.
