We don't know much about how American Home Shield [AHS] handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. American Home Shield [AHS] home warranty

I called AHS for info on their home warranty plans. The rep I spoke with assured me that if I signed up I would have until Nov 28, 2015 to cancel if I decided that it was not for me. Against my better judgement I signed up. I called to cancel the contract which had not even started on Nov. 25, 2015. I was told that it had expired on Nov 14, 2015. Again I was assured that nothing would be taken from my account. On Nov 29, 2015 they took $69. 42 from account. I called on that date and was told that it would be returned to my account. I called Dec 5, 2015 and got some recording that said before I can get service I needed to pay the balance of $69.42 ( I went through service because I thought I would be able to get a live person). This is Dec. 5, 2015 and it still has not been returned. I have found out that someone at AHS was very irresponsible in handling my situation. They cancelled the contract but failed to cancel the ACH draft. Now I have to wait for possibly 2 more weeks before I get reimbursed because the request was sent in on Dec 2 (a week later). Bad business dealings. So it doesn't matter one iota to them that my account was messed up due to their irresponsible customer service representative. I will never do business with that company again.

American Home Shield [AHS] they are a scam

This is a scam company. I don't know how they stay in business. I have had the "insurance" for 16 months. After almost a year, I filed a claim for an electrical problem. No one ever came. Then the hot water heater burned out. I filed a claim. No one came to repair it. I called, but no one answered 2 different times, so I left messages. After 4 days of no hot water, I had no choice but to hire a plumber. I wrote to AHS to get reimbursed. They refused, saying that they will not cover costs if I hire the plumber directly. Of course, they never hired the plumber, so I had to. Now, to my disbelief, they finally have an electrician coming, and this is after 4 months since I filed the claim. This company is a scam. Stay away from them.

American Home Shield [AHS] home repair warranty

I have a warranty with AHS for home repairs. Thursday, November 12, 2015, my hot water heater leaked all over my bedroom and hall. I contacted AHS and was told a plumber would be out Friday, November 13. He was a no show. When I called AHS (still Friday) I was told that no one else could be sent, that someone would be out on Monday, November 16. On Monday, the plumber came out and said that the hot water heater needed to be replaced, and that he would be out in the morning to take care of it. That night (still Monday) the plumber called and said that he couldn't use his supplier, that AHS had ordered it from Home Depot and that it would take a week. I called AHS (still Monday) and was told that they would ok with the plumber for him to use his own supplier. It is now Tuesday, November 17. The plumber called to tell me that AHS still would not let him use his supplier. AHS states that a hot water heater should be delivered by Friday, and that if they try to get one from somewhere else that I have to pay a restocking fee. After 45 minutes on hold, I finally spoke to someone who is supposed to be a supervisor (Melissa). She told me that she would investigate and call me back in 30minutes. That was three hours ago. These people are thieves.

American Home Shield [AHS] warranty services

Here is a story I wanted to share with everyone about how some companies are deceptive regarding their services that they provide to the public. I have bought membership from American Home Shield (AHS) earlier this year. On Wednesday September 30th our water heater leaked and flooded half my home. We drained and disconnected the water heater, and as a result, had no hot water. The next day I called AHS to have someone come out and fix the problem. They sent their work order to a plumbing company, Quality Plumbing Solution, to complete the work. Mr. Chris of Quality Plumbing Solution reached out to me to set up an appointment. We scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th between 10:00am to 3:00pm. I took the day off from work and waited for the technician, but nobody showed. I called Chris at Quality Plumbing Solution and inquired, to which he replied, “Sorry, the technician had an emergency and couldn’t show up.” I asked why I was not informed, to which he replied with an apology. Chris set up an appointment for the next day, Thursday, October 8th between 1:00pm to 3:00pm and assured me the technician will be there. I had to take another half day off from work to accommodate, but come Thursday, nobody showed. Again. I called Chris back at Quality Plumbing Solution and inquired about the technician, to which he replied, “We can’t reach him and he hasn’t responded to any of his appointments for the day.” He then told me they couldn’t do anything for me anymore and to find another plumbing company. At this point (Thursday evening), I was unsure how to proceed and called AHS for assistance. I explained what happened and received an apology, but was told they had to confirm with Quality Plumbing Solutions why the service was not performed before they could send another vendor to complete the work. AHS stated they would call me back to confirm. Since I did not receive a call by the next evening, Friday October 9th, I called AHS for a status update. At that time, ASH set up an appointment for today, 8:00am, October 10th. In fact, they made sure to schedule the appointment for first thing in the morning due to its urgent nature. I was also provided with the telephone number of the new vendor, AZ Remodeling & Plumbing, Inc. By 9:00am, no technician had arrived, so I called AZ Plumbing to inquire. I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Paul. Paul told me he has the work order, but received a cancellation from AHS. You can imagine by now, I was annoyed. I called AHS and asked to speak with a supervisor to sort out these issues. After being placed on hold for 45 minutes (really, AHS?), a supervisor by the name of Brittany came on the line. I explained all the events that had transpired in the last 10 days and asked for an explanation, to which she replied, “We have to confirm with the first company (Quality Plumbing Solutions) before we can provide another vendor.” I clarified that the confirmation must have taken place if the appointment with the new vendor, AZ Plumbing, was given to me when I called on Friday (why else schedule the new appointment, AHS?). Disregarding my statement, she simply restated herself. I questioned the integrity and business ethics of AHS for handling this situation as poorly as they have. I have been a real estate professional for a number of years, and as part of our incentives, we have always recommended top services, such as home warranty, moving and storage, etc. to our clients. Personally, I have always recommended AHS to all of my clients for their home warranty needs. I have also taken the AHS services for my own home. At this juncture, I am sorry to say, that I will no longer recommend AHS services to my clients. In fact, I will highly discourage anybody – clients, friends, relatives – from subscribing to AHS for home warranty services. Shame on you, AHS.

American Home Shield [AHS] home warranty

I called regarding my dishwasher and to have someone come out to fix it. American Home shield (headquarters in Tennessee) then charged me $75 claiming they sent someone out to fix my dishwater even though no one did come. When I asked them to provide proof, ie, signed service order or something or look into it with the company they contracted with they say they couldn't provide proof, just another verbal confirmation from the contracted company that they sent someone out to fish my dishwasher which still has not been fixed and no one came!. I asked to put me in contact with the contracted company and they said it's against their policy. I've been dealing with this for the past 2 months. Every time I call I'm on hold for at least 45 minutes and again was told they can't provide me with any documentation. I am so fed up with this. I've been paying my monthly fees to a company that is not doing anything. I think I'm doing to be filing complaints with anyone who is willing to look into this company to if their business is legit. I will definitely be contacting the news channel to look into this company. I urge anyone who has problems with this company to do the same.

American Home Shield [AHS] air condition

I rent my home to a military family... In July which is one of the hottest times of the year here in Columbia, SC. My tenants called me stating the air condition unit was out. I called American Home Shield (AHS). They said it would take a few days to come out. That wouldn't work it's over 100 degrees and I have a infant and a lady that is pregnant in the home. The said that's all they could do. So I called Spring Valley and they came out the same day and replaced the motor for $488 plus service call. A few days later the tenants called and told me the AC was making noise... I stated I'll call the AHS company and see what they can do. This time they sent out a technician who replaced the fan blade and left. Everything was working when he left. That next thing I know I get a call again saying the AC was making noise and the top of the AC unit has a hole in it. I called the AHS again, and they send the technician back out, same person. He took the motor and the blade out and said he will have to order the parts and that it would take a month before he can fix it. This was unacceptable and I again called AHS. They said they would talk to the technician, it was a week before any from there contacted us. The came me the number to the technician's office. I called there and they knew nothing as far as information, they said they will have the technician call me. I called AHS again and told them I have to get AC in that house, so I called another company to go out. The new Technician said the motor was gone and the top was missing. That was when I realized that the AHS technician had taking the motor, fan blade and top with him. I was never told he was doing that. I had to pay the new technician $512 for a motor blade and top. Now I have contacted AHS again, explained to them what has taken place. I was told to send in the documents for review and they would give me a refund. During this entire time with each and every call, their customer service department was very rude and nasty. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they would say they didn't have a supervisor, or the supervisor wasn't at work that day. Always another excuse after another. Finally a very nice lady told us that the technician hadn't reported to them as per the policy. He was suppose to have 24 hrs. to inform them and up to that day he hadn't reported. She told me to fax in the documents and she would take care of the reimbursement. Today is Oct 5th, 2015. Just got off the phone with another poor customer service individual and she stated she wasn't going to pay for the motor or the top, only the fan. When asked why not, she stated because she said so. She stated she will call the technician and have him bring the motor fan and top back. Lets see, he took it in July, this is Oct. Why is it taking this long for them to get my motor back when I told him to bring it back in July, and in Aug. Now they're not going to pay me for getting something fix that I pay them to fix. This place is a rip off and so it the technician they sent out. Stay away for this people. STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN HOME SHIELD!

American Home Shield [AHS] air conditioner/ services under warranty were never resolved

The date I started having problems with American Home Shield was March 17, 2015. I requested them to check my air conditioner because it was blowing air in one room only. They sent out provider in my area (Platinum Repair Inc.) He checked the air conditioner and listed the problems on the work order, he stated he would turn it into American Home Shield and I would hear from them in 24 hrs. I didn't. I called AMS a few days later to find out the status of the report and was told the problem was not covered in the contract. I checked my contract and found the problem was covered and called them back. (The problem was with the duct in the air conditioner and it is located in the wall.) I was then told by a representative that in order to fix the problem they would have to break the wall to get to the duct. I informed her that that process is in my contract and was covered. She responded it wasn't and they would not fix it. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me she would have to have the supervisor call me back. Upset I gave her the number. A supervisor did call back, checked the contract and told me the problem was covered. He said he would take care of the problem and someone would come out to repair the air conditioner. Another company came out West Coast Chief Repair this was around the end of April. I was told the same thing, the problem was the duct, but he said he would need a camera to find out exactly where the problem was. He does the work order and same thing "I would hear from AHS within 24 hrs. again nothing from them I call them a week later and they tell me again I'm not covered. I go through the same thing again, they send me letters saying the request is denied and they closed the case. I call them the representative tells me they closed it. I talked to another supervisor and we go through the same thing. it is covered we'll send somebody out and you won't have to pay another co-payment. Well they sent another company out. Relaxed Heating and Air inc.. When this man comes out checks the air conditioner and tells me exactly what needs to be done and where he would have to break the wall to fix it. He turns in his report to AHS and tells me when his company hears from them I would be notified. Of course I don't hear from AHS until I call them. They tell me that company doesn't have the camera to find the problem but as I said this man new exactly what needed to be done. So now they want to send somebody else out to look at it. A this point I am thoroughly frustrated because everyone they sent out didn't have the camera that was supposedly needed to find the problem. Oh now we are in June when relaxed came out. and all this time I'm still paying the premium for this insurance. Well I talked to another representative that was very apologetic and she stated the representative I talked to before was going to return my premium for a month because of the problems I was having. That never happen. Finally they found a company that had the camera they needed to go in and find where the problem. This man takes his camera, goes in the heater/air part takes pictures and tells me the problem is the unit needed to be cleaned and that's why the air conditioner is not working. Now mind you yes the pictures I saw had a lot of dust and dirt and it does need to be cleaned but that had nothing to do with the fact that the air was going inside the wall and not coming out and that is because the duct needed to be fixed. So when he sent his report to AHS they ran with it. They said the problem was a maintenance problem and that was not covered in the contract. I guess you know I was livid and I realized all they were looking for was a reason not to fix my air conditioner and I found out the same way about that as everything else. The man comes out, sends his report to AHS, they don't call me, I call them, they look it up and tell me. then they send me a denial letter, but this time I was so frustrated that I told them to cancel my insurance. That was another problem because I told them to cancel earlier and I was told I had to complete a form that another representative completed over the phone and that took about 2 weeks before they called me to verify it and in the mean time they send another air conditioner person out with no camera to tell me he could do nothing because he didn't have a camera. Well when they processed the cancellation the second time, I was fed up and just let it happen. I ended up finding a person that works for an air conditioner company that (without a camera) found the problem which was (as said in the beginning) the duct was not connected and the air was going inside the wall. He opened the wall exactly where the duct was fixed it and took pictures of what he did. Now I'm paying somebody to fix it when I took out this insurance to do exactly what I ended up having to pay someone else to do. I have attached pictures of the person fixing the air conditioner, notes from the conversations I had with the people at AHS and work orders from two of the companies that came out. Thank you Sharon Kelley 775 W. Palm St. Compton, Ca 90220

American Home Shield [AHS] refrigerator

To: American Home Shield Complaint Department
My name is Robbin Thomas, account# [protected]. I called AHS August 15, 2015 to report my refrigerator was not working. A request was sent to LAHA Repair, they were due to come out on
August 19, 2015, the technician (Andy) called to say he was having issues with his truck, so I called
AHS back to find out if they had another company. I was given DK Appliance Repair, Technician Kris
came out on August 21, 2015. Kris stayed 10 minutes, he said it was a circuit & he replaced the circuit,
Kris said the refrigerator would be working within 24 hours.
After 24 hours the refrigerator still was not working, at this point my troubles began. I called
DK Appliance on August 24, 2015, no one was there I left voice message, Dawn called me back the next day, she said we needed a compressor & Dawn said she called AHS to order the compressor, AHS gave me an ETA of August 31, 2015, I began calling Dawn on September 1, 2015 trying to setup an appointment, after calling DK Appliance twice a day & AHS. I found out DK Appliance cancelled the ordered. They were lying to me the whole time & AHS never said the part was cancelled by DK Appliance. No one from AHS ever told me anything until I called on September 3, 2015 this when Swanesse told me what was going on.
I the think it's sad no one at AHS never told me DK Appliance did not have the part, It's also, sad
DK Appliance was able to continue lying to me they should be removed as a contractor for AHS.
Not to mention, DK Appliance conned me out of $75.00 once Kris got the money he was gone never to return. My understanding it's not AHS responsibility to resolve my complaint with DK Appliance, it's the local management, which is code for I'm out $75.00 for no service.
I am now back to where I began with LAHA Repair, I have an additional account # [protected] with AHS, since August 15, 2015 I have spent over $100.00 on two bags of ice daily & having to eat take out, plus I purchased a dorm size refrigerator for $82.00 as well. I would thank since there are other warranty companies, AHS would provide better service (What a joke). As of September 9, 2015 we are out a refrigerator, AHS now says it will be another 5-7 business days before the compressor comes in. Then we will need to wait for LAHA Appliance to call to give us an appointment. I feel since we have been without a refrigerator since August 15, 2015, I feel AHS should expedite to compressor. I WHAT MY REFRIGERATOR FIXED.

Sincerely!

American Home Shield [AHS] water chiller

my kitchen water chiller which is part of my reverse osmosis system is not working properly. the compressor runs 24/7 really loudly and the water is lukewarm. used to run quietly and serve freezing cold water. so i wait 20 minutes every time i call, finally they send a guy down who has never seen anything like this and has no idea what to do about it, goes back to his office to ask his boss, never gets back to me. i spend another 30 minutes following up, they tell me it's not covered since its not completely dead. then i get a bill for $100 for the pleasure not getting it fixed. if you live in an old wreck or buy an old house get american home shield and have them replace all your appliances and toilets one by one. if you have a meticulously updated and maintained home, as i do, don't waste your time or money. better off with service people you know and trust.

American Home Shield [AHS] bad faith

We carried AHS for 3 years, each time a call was made for AC repair, a different company would come out and either add Freon or take Freon. No-one ever fixed the AC. Recently, we were on the road and a tenant called to say there was a leak in the crawl space. We did not have internet coverage to look up the phone number for AHS. We told the tenant to call a plumber to get the leak fixed; later I called AHS to see if they would cover part of the bill. They said to submit a request which we did which led no-where except to more frustration. After many attempts to get some response, we got a denial letter for reimbursement of a water heater! We did not have a water heater replaced. Obviously, they didn't even read the information we sent. To top it all off, they will not let you talk to the claims department, "they don't take calls." Off to small claims court we go!

American Home Shield [AHS] not reliable/really sticks it to you

Do not use american home shield. They really stick it to you. The companies that come out to fix "things", don't really fix them and you still have to pay for it.
No matter what you have fixed.
I had it happen several times and one time I fixed the toilet and someone came out and they charged me for it.
It is a rip off.
I have asked for a manager and they put me on hold for 25 min now. So I know they are doing this on purpose.
Don't use them.

I was thinking about switching from my current home warranty company (i.e., AHS) to Choice Home Warranty because of AHS's high rates (for both the annual premium & service calls) and mediocre service, but after reading all of the poor reviews of CHS on this website, I think that I'll keep looking for another option. Does anyone have any recommendations for a better company?

Paid AHS for services. Sent out company that is charging me for services that has already been paid to AHS. AHS is a fraud they are doing bad and fraudulant business. They companies that they are contracting out is doing bad business as well. They did not charge my sister, cousin nor friend for the same exact services that they are charging me for.

I have been with American Home Shield for 3 years and two houses, had numerous calls in for repairs and not one thing has been covered. I have now spent many of thousands of dollars on insurance and co-pays and they always found a reason for something not to be covered. I give up, cancelling my coverage and going back to Fidelity. AHS is a scam !

After 5 weeks of warranty repairs, American Home Shield's appliance repair vendor Magic Appliance, Inc. of Sherman Oaks, California still did not repair our washer machine. We ended up buying a new machine at a cost of over $ 880.00. American Home Shield then offered us $ 55.00 as a pay-off for the washer. I would never recommend AHS to anyone.

I could "comment" on every complaint listed on the Board and agree with them all. I have asked AHS if the company is simply a scam. It took me too long, after doing battle with them re AC unit, to realize I was never going to get it resolved...after having been a client for years...
If you are smart enough to do your research before "joining" hopefully you will see all of these complaints and avoid the company.

I have had 4 different technicans to look at my dishwasher and it is still holding water. How many people does it take to try to repair something that can not be fixed. AHS is awful, their service is awful. I am canceling my contract ASAP!

American Home Shield [AHS] Criminal Trespass

I requested a service call about a problem with our pool equipment. American Home Shield (AHS) contacted All-Clear Pool Service and emailed their contact info. That was on Thursday, I called All-Clear on Friday to see when to expect them; but I was told that my specific problem (Fault in Chlorination System) was not covered by AHS warranty. So I told All-Clear Pool Service to cancel the service call and he said no problem, thanks. (meanwhile, I called another local pool service and had the problem fixed on Saturday - NOT by AHS). Well, on Tuesday my pool failed to start at the usual 9:00 am filtering cycle! I discovered that someone had placed the pool control system in Service Mode, changed the manual control valves, and disabled our regular control settings. What happened? So I called All-Clear Pool Services and spoke to the owner, he final confessed that he and his son did go to our address, entered our property (without permission), found nothing needing repair, and then left (nobody was home he said)! My next call was to AHS where I explained and I was told " I'm sorry that happened. Don't worry about it. We will take care of the situation with the contractor so it doesn't happen again. Thanks for calling to let us know what happened." Well, the next month I received a bill from AHS for a Service Fee (All-Clear Pool Service). I called AHS again, was told I had to pay the service call because I FAILED TO CANCEL THE SERVICE CALL THROUGH AHS. I explained again that I did cancel the service call, but AHS would not remove or cancel the balance due($75). AHS even put my call on hold, called the All-Clear Pool Service to verify my claim as to what happened. AHS then told me that I had to pay because the service call was made to that address (even though I called the Friday before to cancel, and that NOBODY WAS HOME when the service call was made, and the servicing personnel entered onto our property - without any permission of the home owner. They left no intentional evidence of their visit - no invoice, no notice, only disabling and changing the pool system controls.). I told AHS that there would be no repeat of this kind of service and that if it happens again I am calling the police to charge them with criminal trespass (I still do not know what did occur while the service personnel where alone, on my property ). Beware of ANY Servicemaster Company.

American Home Shield [AHS] claims denials

I’m writing to you seeking help. I have been an AHS customer for over two years. Back in [protected] my husband and I purchased a policy from AHS, shortly after our ceiling fan broke, we called AHS and were told that the ceiling fan was not covered so we bought a new ceiling fan. Then I found out that the fan “was” covered and when I called AHS they said that because we purchased the fan and installed it they could not refund us for the fan and installation.

Sometime in early 2014 our washer and dryer malfunctioned. I called AHS and they sent a technician who did not fix it. We called AHS to follow up and they said the repairs were not covered.

In mid-2014 a button from our stove stopped working, we called AHS who sent a technician who said that if we pressed the button real hard with our fingernail the button would work, well now there’s a hole where the button is from “pressing w/ our fingernail”. AHS said that the repair was not covered because “technically” it still worked.

Recently the lights in our kitchen kept flickering and our microwave completely stopped working. We called AHS and they sent someone to look at it. We received a denial letter from AHS saying that nothing was covered because it was caused by an “audio circuit overload”.

After paying over $1200.00 in premiums and service call fees we decided to cancel the contract. I called AHS to cancel and in an attempt to keep my business they said they were really sorry and promised to make things better by fixing the lights and replacing the microwave but first they would send another technician to look at the problem again. This was about three weeks ago. We never heard from AHS after that. Last week I called AHS to follow up and was told that nothing will be fixed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and my request was denied multiple times. Then I requested that my contract be cancelled and that they honor the promise of replacing our microwave and fixing the lights.

Today I received a voicemail stating my contract was cancelled but there was no mention of my microwave or lights. Had my contract been cancelled last month I wouldn’t have had to pay for this month’s premium and that money could have gone to a new microwave.

I’m saddened because I feel like I have been taken advantage of and robbed, and I am hoping that you can refund my premiums or replace my microwave and stove. I think that AHS has failed to honor the contract which I paid for and never had any intention of repairing any items in the contract. The repair for the lighting was quoted at $280.00 and a microwave costs about $100.00, it saddens me that AHS would not even honor a minor repair. I look forward to hearing from you.

American Home Shield [AHS] shady / unprofessional company

Watch out for this company! My husband and I have been loyal/paying American Home Shield customers for several years now and we are currently fixing to cancel our service. Our contract covers repairs on various fixtures within our home, including our major appliances. We began having trouble with our refrigerator back in March 2014 (the problem was causing our food to be destroyed), so we went ahead and submitted a claim through American Home Shield (AHS). AHS sent an appliance repair company out to try and fix the problem, however the problem was not fixed. AHS then sent the appliance company out again, yet the problem was still not able to be fixed. After the third visit from the same appliance company, AHS decided they wanted to get a second opinion, so they sent a new appliance company out and we started the entire process over again. The second appliance company visited our residence three times and still, the issue that we were having was not able to be fixed (and we were still being forced to throw food away every couple of days). At this point, I called in and spoke to a supervisor (by the name of Rhonda) who recommended that they send the original appliance repair company out yet again for another diagnosis (mind you that each and every time a technician is sent to our house, we are provided with a four hour window for when they will arrive, which forces me to take time off of work). Fast forward to today (July 30, 2014), the issue is still not fixed and I can not take any more time off of work. I have attempted to contact the supervisor that I spoke to (Rhonda), however I've received her voice mail twice, left messages and never received a call back. The AHS contract states that if they are not able to fix an appliance, they will replace it, however it it obvious that this company is doing everything in their power to not have to make good on that contractual commitment, so five months later (and with countless personal time off hours taken from work), I am still dealing with a malfunctioning refrigerator. This type of service is completely unacceptable, unprofessional and has created an extremely dissatisfied customer.

Consider this a warning and stay far away from American Homes Shield. There are several alternative home warranty companies out there to choose from!

American Home Shield [AHS] not fixing washer

These complain is against American Home Shield, my home
warranty company for not repairing our Washer. My name is Mangal Trivedi,
address: 13641 Heisler Street, Eastvale. CA. 92880. We are four people living in
our house, I, my wife and two kids age of 17 and 12. We bought New GE Washer
& GE Dryer from Howard appliances about four years ago. Our GE Washer
stopped working and we call American Home Shield (our Home Warranty Company) for
repair. My Contract # with AHS [protected], Service request ID # [protected].
Technician from Accord appliances came to repair washer on [protected].
Technician opened washer and he inspected whole washer and he only found broken
belt nothing else was broken in washer. Technician told us that washer is not
working because of broken belt. Technician took broken belt and with him and
told us that his company Accord Appliances will order new belt and he will be
back within five days and he will put new belt and washer will start working
again. More than 7 days passed by and no technician came by to replace broken
belt, so we called AHS and they gave us telephone number to call Accord
appliance (Repair Company). After several calls to Accord appliances, they told
us that AHS told them that they have assigned a different company to repair
washer. We called AHS several times for next 10 days and finally they sent
technician from Steve Appliance (different company). Technician from Steve
Appliance came after 10 days, he only looked at washer he did not even touch
washer machine or open washer and he left. We asked him about to replace broken
belt, Technician told us that he has a note from American Home Shield that he
has to report "Not normal wear and tear" and he does not need to open
unit or inspect washer why is not working. Technician told us that AHS has not
told him to replace broken belt. We
called AHS and they told us that washer is not cover under normal wear and
tear. We are four people living in house (Husband & wife and two kids’ age
of 17 & 12). We use all our appliances with care. There is no physical
damage found by both technicians. We called GE after we received a denial
letter from AHS and spoke with consumer service rep and we asked question that
what is normal life of this washer and they advised us 12 to 15 years. Only broken
belt was needed to replace to fix washer. Broken belt is normal wear and tear
but American Home Shield is denying. Washer is used once or twice a week for
laundry and it’s not used like refrigerator where people use many times in a
day. We were out of washer for more than a month and a half. There is no coin
up laundry in our town and nearest coin up laundry is about 20 miles away from
my home. We went about more than six times to do laundry outside (20 miles one
way). American Home Shield does not want to fix or replace washer so, two weeks
ago, I bought new LG washer from Home Depot. American Home Shield sent two
invoices for $75.00 each (invoice # [protected] & [protected]) total $150.00
and they have not fixed my washer and denying to pay for washer. Please help us
to resolve this matter with AHS. Thanks and God bless America.

American Home Shield [AHS] without ac for almost 3 weeks

I have been a faithful customer for almost 10 years; however, this current experience with AHS has been absolutely HORRIBLE! An AHS contractor came to my home almost 2 weeks ago (in 2 days). AHS did not like what the contractor told them was wrong, so AHS sent a 2nd contractor 3 days later who told them the same thing the 1st contractor said. In the meantime, we are SUFFERING because our upstairs AC in not working in our home. All of our bedrooms are upstairs! After talking to 6 different representatives, at AHS, and being given the run around, I called corporate office. We still do NOT have AC on the top level of our home and have no idea when the contractor is coming to fix it. As I type this message, it is almost 91 degrees upstairs where my son is sleeping. This is RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE! We will NOT be renewing our contract in June when it expires and we will be sharing our experience with all of our friends and family.

American Home Shield [AHS] crooked company

All of you that have complained before and after me are 100% percent right on one thing. They are a fraudulent insurance company and have figured out how to screw you out of your money for nothing. I will not even get into my story as it is very similar to most of yours, they just screwed us. Please make sure you all call the BBB as well. I am taking legal action against them and would advise the rest of you to do the same. Company's like this should not be in business. P.S. Make sure you all spread the word to every person you know and then some and let them know that this Insurance company is crooked.

American Home Shield [AHS] failure to cancel account after 15 calls

Had American home shield for our home. We sold the home and called to cancel the policy. A month later we got a refund for the policy. A few days later we got a bill for American home shield. We called and they said it was an error and to disregard. A month later we received a collection notice. We called and were told the policy had not been cancelled and they would fix it since there was a record of us calling for the policy to be canceled. Every month since we have received collection notices. We call and it's the same story. I even requested for management to call and verify the account closed, they did and the next month we still got a collection notice. So they lied to me. We received a letter saying it had been closed and guess what, we received a collection notice 2 weeks later. This company is the worst. I don't care if I have to pay $200 more a month for another company. I will never use ahs again. Ever!
