When my 2016 Hyundai Sonata got wrecked back in 2021 they tried to tell me I didn’t have gap insurance when I know at the lease signing and getting my car they said I have gap insurance. I had to come out of pocket and pay 3 thousand and some change when the final estimate was only $1057. You can never get in contact with them when it comes down to using your warranty where they want you to go. It’s not fair to customers that’s thinking things will go smooth when it’s really not at all.

American Financial has the worst customer service. Every time i call them pr they call me they talk over me or they would start talking while im talking explaining something. Theynacr as of they are impatient. They are just so rude. I don't know if i spoke to the same person everytime or someone different but they all have that same nasty way of speaking to customers. I was warned by a lot of people not to deal with them but i judge based on my own experience. They are awful!

I have been calling American car center in Memphis, TN for the past 2 weeks & nobody still haven't returned my call or really trying 2 help me get my car title corrected with some errors you all made on it.. I was sent my car title in early May 2022 & it has 2 errors on it the date & you all name is still on there as the lien holder which yal name should not be stamped in that area cuz I have payed the car off..

When I got hurt on the job I went ahead and paid my lease off.now that I don't owe but 1300.so when I filed out the paperwork I stated and marked down that I get paid once a month. To me if someone is that much from being paid for that means handy capped.cant work cause of a back injury.then so now that I can't pay but once 350 a month they want accept it.

Hello I purchased a 2016 dodge journey from the American Car center in Dothan AL in 2020 paid 2000 down and making payments or 481 a month. I was ok with this but a year later I wanted to trade it in and every where I went they stated I owe too much money left. Well now I went to the bank and trying to get Max federal to refinance my truck only to find out that my credit is saying I have a 11610 balance but they are tell me I owe 15321 that's money I knew nothing about well I was told that it was a 3700 dollar residual balance that was in my agreement when I signed it but I know I would remember this. And this has to be paid within 30 days after final payment. They are scamming people don't waste your time or money I am thankful that Max Federal got me out that hell hole I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN!

MY ADVICE TO YOU IS RUN LIKE HELL!

I purchased a vehicle from the Florence Alabama store in May of 2019. Within a month of the purchase, warning lights appeared on the instrument panel of the vehicle. I contacted the store where I bought the vehicle from and the main office in Memphis but was told that my particular problem was not covered by my warranty even though the paperwork that I signed at the dealership clearly stated that my vehicle was covered. After months of arguing with them and driving and making payments on an unreliable vehicle, I decided that I was done arguing with them about it and decided to trade out of the vehicle. When I called and asked for the 10-day payoff, I was told that I would have to wait at least 48 hours before I could get the payoff amount. After 2 weeks of calling and getting the run around, I decided that I really needed a reliable vehicle to transport me to and from my dialysis treatment and I had no choice but to purchase another vehicle from a more reputable dealership.

After voluntarily surrendered the vehicle to American Car center, I was told that I would have a balance, which I was fine with, I had no problem paying the price for dealing with these scam artists. I was put in touch with a American Car Credit redemption agent Michael Moncrief. An agreement was made that I would settle for $2200.00 with payments of $200.00 a month until the debt was satisfied. However, when I asked for a copy of this agreement in writing on a company letterhead, Mr. Moncrief promised me that I would be provided with it but I have yet to receive this document, this agreement was made in October of 2021. I asked Mr. Moncrief for receipts of received payments that shows that settlement amount and the remaining balance, once again he promised me that I would get it but I have not to date received any correspondence, electronic or otherwise from anybody at American Car Center.

In March, of 2022 I was in the process of purchasing my first home. The bank needed an exact amount of the balance of my account with American Car Center. When I finally got an answer (After calling everyday for 3 weeks) I was told that I still owed the entire balance of the loan and that the payments that I made towards my settlement agreement did not go towards my balance and nobody knows where my money went. I filled a BBB compliant in March of 2022 and was contacted by Mr. Moncrief and another employee of American Car Center and was told that I would have answers within 24 hours of that phone call. Its been nearly 2 months and I have not heard from anyone despite calling every week and leaving messages. I am done talking to these people. I am seeking the advice of an attorney

Chargeing me damageing fee and i got full coverage insurance damging fee i been paying since i got the car now they saying i have not pay none and they said i got over 400 dollars worth of fees and been paying my fee even though i got insurance this wrong people don't have money like that too give

I purchased my car October 2019 had to be put in the shop within 6 months of purchase. I’ve called and emailed completely ignored but randomly charged me $600 every month for almost two years saying it’s because I don’t have insurance even though I’ve had full coverage since before they gave the keys to the car then it was late fees but my note is due twice a month and is about $15 for being late so how it’s over $600 every single month is completely beyond me. Their mechanic’s shotty work shorted out my electrical board which recently cost me over 1,000 to fix due the kill switch they incorrectly installed but of course they weren’t at fault in the slightest and it was my tab to pick up. Then to top it off my car was a little over 10,000 got my credit report about a week ago to find out there’s an auto loan for over 22,000 on my credit from a third party lender when it’s a buy here pay here policy. Oh I was also pressured into making increasing the amount of a down payment because it wasn’t enough for the “lender” who is also supposed to be this company go figure

My name is Titian Griffin and I currently have a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with you guys, I had to bury my mother as to why my car note is now 2 payments behind as of today, customer service is calling my phone back to back when they call and they know I work Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. Sometimes I get behind but I always catch up. As I am writing this complaint they are calling again so that is 3 times today within 20 minutes. As I end this complaint this makes 4 times they have called. Today is May 16th...

Do not purchase a car from this place for [censored]! this place is the biggest scam artist company ive ever seen‼️‼️ they do not mention to you when you are interested in a car that you only lease the car you find that out on your own, 2nd they are leasing the most oldest [censored]ty cars with high mileage ive had this car 2 years leasing it and on my last 9,000 to turn it back it or pay another $3,000 to finally purchase it after having car for 30 days they shut my car off due to no payment thankfully I had all receipts which is to why cause they never made me account was no record of me leasing it like I went and took the car off lot which led me getting pulled over numerous times cause they couldnt give me proper paper work ok now $18,000 later transmission goes out saturday I had to pay $400 out of pocket to get it towed with insurance only paying up to 100 miles even though im "renting" this car they refuse to get transmission fixed or even attempt to fix it and put it on my payments but steadily calling me asking me for a payment and little courtney at office informs me my transmission going out has nth to do with me making payment and im totally reliable for the transmission then proceeds to tell me he is coming to repo tonight cause I told him when they figure out my transmission on my "rented" car ill make a payment now keep in mind this payment was due saturday‼️‼️‼️ im showing 100% paid on time with this car‼️‼️ also when they shut my car off shortly after getting it they messed up my fueling system also... They will not give me another [censored]ty car for a rental while I figure out transmission problem and I believe its also the motor‼️‼️ once hearing I hear alot of their cars break down before paying off

also note to add you can not go up there and right out buy a car they do not allow it that also isnt right...

I thought I was buying a car, American car sales Lakeland Florida, months later, I went to renew at the tag office they told me the car was a lease, I paid, 2 and a half years, I’ve not been able to obtain title, nor trade vehicle in, they would not give me a straight answer amount owed. The car has sat for another year and half. Now I receive a paper from irs, saying American car sales did a debt charge off for over 12,000, and I owed almost 4000 in taxes, so they are getting paid 25,000 for a 2012 car? WTH. I contacted a lawyer.

I put blood sweat and tears into that car I paid 21000 dollars for a Malibu I was the reallytgeonly owner it only had 5000 miles on it when I got it I was proud.because I bought it on my own blood sweat ters I did that only for it to be token I was In the residual stage which it shouldn't have been anything after the 21000 them my car had been down since 08/21 it had been sitting in the yard plus I was one of the ones that was suppose to get the unemployment rebate but since I hadn't received it thought it automatically went to American financial and only how I know it didn't is because I got a text from an 1855 number talking about call or the car will be in repossession that was on 11/23/2021 then they sent another text after I already called and still didn't speak to no one so I still called then on 12/23/21 they came and got my car right before Christmas I Had to walk and get my daughters presents then when I did get them on the phone then rep over my file was so rude I almost drove to Memphis then didn't get no notices or nothing about my car until fed ex dropped of a check for my Malibu which was 676.73 what the heck oh heck no do I need to lawyer up cause thats next

On April 12th at 10:15 pm, american financial disabled my vehicle, even though we spoke and informed them I would make my payment to them Friday April 15. My rep said ok and she would notate my account. I spoke to her at about 1-2:30 pm on the 12th. I continued to work the rest of the day without interruption. After I realized my car was disabled and payment was forced out of me even though I didn't have it to pay until Friday, I had to give them part of my rent money. Now I face an eviction and still have to make payments to my other bills. Now with my payment being caught up and me filing complaints against them I am now being retaliated against by them disabling the vehicle even though they have their car payment, keeping me current.

I wish I would’ve known about this trap before I got stuck they do not care to work with you if you’re having to be late with a payment even had a rep tell me not to pay my insurance they stick you with damage waiver fees even if you have full coverage this place is a joke they dont answer the phone and they will hang up on you

I purchased a car from American car center and had a accident my insurance company made a payment to American car center and I received a letter that I owed a little over $700 but American car center put on my credit that the car was repo and I owe over 6000.00 this needs to be removed I have the letter stating what is owed. I have contact this company mulitbke this with no solution

I purchased a 2015 Nissan Sentra on 12/21/2021. Just last week I the RPM in my car started fluctuating up and down. I called American car center and after 50 times and 7 voicemails I finally got through to someone in Service. They directed me to bring the Nissan to Pepboys for a Diagonistic test. 3 days later after finally getting through to American car center service department they than directed me to bring the car to AAMCO to have the second diagnostic test. Now 1 week later after 150 calls and leaving 25 voicemails they want me to bring the car to NISSAN. American car center claims they will only cover up to $4,000 of the $7,000 repair that is needed for the car to drive. I have lost 7 days of works. Have no transportation. Have not been provided a temporary or courtesy vehicle. And certainly not paying half of the repair bill to the lemon car you sold me.

This started on the first when my car wouldn't run so I called the company to tell them that the car wasn't running and they told me what shop to take it to, so I call my tow truck associated with my insurance and got it to the mechanic. Then they called me to tell me that if I paid them 56.00 they would put my "late" payment to the back of my loan and then Service would pay to have it fixed. Yesterday 03/07/22 I found out that I owed 817.00 for the work on the vehicle because the work done wasn't covered! if I paid 1/2 of that they would pay the rest, plus I also have to pay my next payment that is due on the 11th of this month (March). I told them that I was told they were going to pay for it, all, and I didn't have that much money to pay for it! If I had known this in the first place I would have had the car towed back here a changed the plugs and wires myself! They had told the garage the same thing. Today Service won't answer either my or the mechanic (Matt) phone calls, we both get answering machines and no one thus far has called us back! In the mean time, I have another half with heart failure and a very injured foot that needs to get to doctor's appointments and cannot without transportation!

I bought a car from American Car Center in Greer South Carolina a 2015 Chevrolet Trax do not blow the head gasket then I got another car a couple days ago and now they calling me 4 payments every week and I was told to pay $570 and I'll pay you yet but they calling me everyday told me if I don't pay they going to pick my car up I'm tired everyday threat I can't make car payments every week it's over two weeks

This place is a TOTAL RIP DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM !
