I was stuck for nearly 3 hours on a major highway and was lied to our numerous occasions by the AAA representatives in the department.
I was told by the state police that finally arrived 2 1/2 hours later that because AAA was irresponsible and it was unsafe, that they needed to call another towing company for my safety. This was a service that I would be financially responsible for, to the tune of $350 I was told by the AAA representative “Kenny” out of the Providence, Rhode Island dispatch that I would be 100% fully reimbursed.
I have since talked to AAA and I’m told that I will not be fully reimbursed, that Kenny from Providence Rhode Island misrepresented that to me.
I was also promised a $50 discount for my upcoming renewal which has yet to be applied to my account as well.
It is extremely unfortunate that AAA has cornered of the market in regards to this service and fails that they can do and say whatever.
It’s extremely unfortunate that this type of service and representation is allowed to continue and no one does anything about it.
All I can say is, don’t get stranded on a busy highway for three hours and think that AAA is going to come to your rescue even though you pay an exorbitant amount of money every year for their membership.
Desired outcome: At the very least, I would expect that AAA would honor what was said to me and reimburse me 100% for a situation that was beyond my control based on what I was being told for three hours by AAA and their representatives.
