AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Aftercare is a JOKE here at Canadian Appliance Source. Our family went without our 2 year old refrigerator for over 6 weeks! (Yes it was also bought at CAS) Now we're stuck with a new refrigerator about a week old needing repairs! COOL!

On our old refrigerator, when it had issues, we were shuffled back and fourth between repair and warranty, finally getting a cheque to buy a new refrigerator after 6+ weeks. The refrigerator that died was covered by Comerco, which CAS uses (another disaster of a company which we had to continually call and push to get ANYTHING done). Decided to go with Whirlpool and get a new dishwasher while we were at it.

FIRST delivery, the Bosch dishwasher was broken on the inside; smashed in from handling poorly. Exchange was pretty easy on this one, and they replaced it after a few days. Annoying, but it happens and I let it slide. Finally happy to get what we needed after several weeks.

Once we got the refrigerator sorted, we left it for 24hours to cool down before we loaded it with stuff. The next evening we loaded our stuff back in, and noticed that the refrigerator and freezer wasn't closing correctly. The left door wouldn't stay open even when leveled, and even tilted as far back as possible. It just wouldn't stay open, closing on it's own. On top of that the freezer door doesn't close properly, as it slams into the right refrigerator door hinge. Great! The cherry on top? The absolute loud buzzing of the motor.. it's louder than our KitchenAid range fan on half speed!

I reached out to sales the day after and sent a video of the noise. They said that it doesn't sound normal, suggested I contact Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool and they sent a tech 2 days later. When he came he tried to level it, tried to tilt it further and couldn't get the door to stay open no matter what he tried.

The tech then turned his attention to the freezer slamming into the door hinge above, and again couldn't adjust anything or do anything. Finally, for the motor, he said he's not sure; it's louder than other ones he's heard, but "it is what it is". He finally called into Whirlpool to figure out what's going on. Turns out Whirlpool is aware of the issue, and it stems from ENGINEERING; The unit is flawed from the factory, and Whirlpool is aware they are selling these units that have engineering issues... great!

The 'good news' the tech says, is that Whirlpool is aware of the issue, and they will let him know when they have a solution. I don't have a timeline. I don't have a fix. He was unable to tell me if the fix was for the freezer or the refrigerator or both. I have nothing except a flawed refrigerator that I just bought. The tech suggested I contact CAS and see if I can exchange the unit if I'm not happy with it. Cool cool cool.

I contact CAS again regarding an exchange for the unit AFTER Whirlpool was in. I told them many times... I am happy to pay MORE MONEY for a different refrigerator that doesn't have these issues. Nope, that doesn't even register or matter. After care clearly doesn't understand my frustrations with the entire process over the last 9+ weeks, nightmare replacement/warranty, broken dishwasher delivery, flawed refrigerator from the factory. Have some understanding for your repeat customers CAS, these are major appliances that families rely on. What happened to caring for customers, eh? Got your money and run is the name of the game, I guess.

We'll, it's time to get this review going it seems. Fun times!

Where do we go from here CAS? Want to make it right? Happy to discuss an exchange. You have my contact information. Call me.

BAD EXPERIENCE!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
DO NOT USE CAS!
DO NOT USE COMERCO WARRANTY!
DO NOT USE WHIRLPOOL!

Recommendation: RUN! RUN SO FAR AWAY! GET AWAY!
