My husband and I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Aaron’s Rent‑to‑Own location in Porter, Texas. The General Manager, Noel Sterna, spoke to us in a rude, disrespectful, and loud tone, which is completely unacceptable for someone in a leadership position.
We rented a lawn tractor two weeks prior and paid $1,081.00. We were told the tractor had been repaired, but it was not fixed. When we decided we no longer wanted the tractor due to the unresolved issue, Noel initially stated that the money we paid could be applied toward another item. Other customer service personnel also confirmed this, but Noel later changed her mind and claimed that “wrong information” had been given to us. I explained that it was not our fault that her own employees — including herself — provided incorrect information.
During the conversation, Noel went as far as to insult my husband, accusing him of breaking the tractor on purpose. This accusation was offensive and completely unreasonable. We explained that we needed the tractor and were prepared to pay it off “same as cash” in four payments, exactly as Maria, another employee, had explained to us. Noel then stated that Maria had also given us “wrong information” and that this was not how their program worked.
Because of all this misinformation, inconsistency, and unprofessional behavior, we ended up losing $1,081.00 in less than a month — money paid for a product that was never repaired and for which we were denied the option to transfer our payment toward another item, despite being told multiple times that we could.
The disrespect, confusion, and lack of accountability we experienced at this location are unacceptable. Customers should never be blamed for the mistakes of employees, nor should they be spoken to in a rude or accusatory manner. This situation has left us extremely disappointed and concerned about the professionalism and integrity of this store.
Recommendation: Do not trust Aaron's Employees specially the one in Porter, Texas
