Aaron's review: Furniture rental, couch set and bedroom set

I rented from this company in Richmond VA, notably on Nine Mile Road. I am a traveling safety professional. In the initial renting, I explained the furniture would be returned when I got my next deployment. I was in such a rush to get comfortable, I accepted a used mattress to which I cleaned thousands of lint balls off and covered with a mattress cover. Upon the return of said furniture, an appointment was made to retrieve up the furniture to which I waited 5 hours and the drivers never showed. I moved, returned to keys to management and proceeded to make arraignment for Aaron's to pick up the furniture. After the initial appointment, made by Aaron's, it took an additional week to pick up. Consequently, I had already moved on to another state.

Once it was picked up they made a claim that the mattress was damaged and I was to pay full price for a mattress that was used from the onset and the couch and love seat were missing. I spoke with the rental agent/manager and they stated no one came into the apartment.

I was HOUNDED for months for payment of furniture I no longer had AND they wanted full price though I had nothing in my possession. This went on until I received a call from their corporate office to which they proceeded to make the claim that I was responsible under the contract, never taking in to account the negligence of the branch. I end up paying a portion of what they wanted because the calls were becoming more and more of a harassment daily with call after call.

I HOPE EVERYONE AND I MEAN EVERYON NOTES THAT RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY IS AN AT YOUR OWN RISK CONTRACT. THIS WAS NO LESS THAN SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES AND I WILL NEVER, EVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN. I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND MY COMPANY PAYS FOR HOUSING AND FURNITURE. THEY TRULY LOST ME WITH THIS INTERACTION.
