Aamco Corp Office,
My 2003 Ford explorer was taken to your Aamco transmission shop in Newnan, GA in August of 2024 while I was out of town on business. After 10 days without a quote, it was suggested that I purchase a trans and have it delivered there to save time. (It was explained to me that this was a newly opened franchise and they were having internal issues.) It was finally picked up in September. Then after months of ongoing problems, it was taken to the Aamco in my hometown of Greensboro, NC. It was determined by the Aamco in Greensboro, NC that it was overfilled by 2 quarts when installed. It was explained to me that this likely caused fluid ariation /foaming which has deteriorated the transmission as if it were underfilled causing slow engaging, rollback, and electrical problems. They agreed that driving with the overfill is likely responsible for this failure and documented the 2-qt overfill found. They suggested that I file a claim with the transmission supplier. I contacted the transmission supplier and filed a warranty claim knowing that these findings would probably void the warranty and make Aamco legally responsible for a $2500 replacement. However, when the Aamco Greensboro reported to me that the claim was approved I asked for a copy of the documentation provided to the transmission supplier and found that they had omitted these findings to push through the warranty, and get the replacement approved. I was then informed that installation would cost me $1600 for which the warranty would cover only $400 of the labor. When I asked confronted the Aamco regional mgr about not providing the overfill info I was told that they had changed their mind about the overfill causing the issue and changed the documentation to say that the overfill quantity was only 1.5 qts and the problem was a faulty transmission. I have no doubt that this was done to not only protect the Ga Aamco but make more money off me for another installation. Shame on Aamco. The replacement transmission has not been installed yet due to my financial situation. I'm a 65-year-old disabled man supporting a wife myself on less than 30k a year. I just spent over $4000 having a transmission installed, and months later have to file a warranty claim and spend another $1,500 for transmission that should have lasted for 5 years.
Desired outcome: I would like Aamco Transmissions to install the new replacement transmission free of charge due to all of the problems encounter and lies told.
