On 10/12/23, I requested service from AAA Carolinas. My car was on the side of a street with a badly mangled right front tire and some parts dangling.
at 12:59, I received a text asking me to pinpoint my location.
At 1:58, I called [protected]

*Somewhere in here (not sure of the exact sequence of the calls below) a man called me and said his truck was broken down and he had to put oil in it! He wouldn't answer my call when I called him back.
So I called AAA again and they had assigned me to a new tow truck driver.
When that guy came, he looked at my car and said his hitch was messed up and he had had to weld it back on! He said he would only pick up my car if I would sign a damage waiver. Of course I wasn't going to do that because of his truck deficiency.

So... I started all over.
At 2:01 I received a text to provide my location
at 2:10, I received a text saying my request had been assigned to a technician.
At 2:24 I received a call from [protected] (the truck driver).

at 3:52 I received a call from [protected]
at 3:56 I made a call to [protected] complaining that I had been waiting forever and still no tow truck. The lady was very nice and said she would update the service call. She said I would receive phone calls/messages soon. I did receive one message saying someone would be here at 4:30.
At 4:34 I called [protected] and asked where the truck was.

The lady looked up my account/request for service and said this: the service call had been cancelled because I refused to sign a waiver! I said but what about the message I received saying someone would be there by 4:30. She could not explain this. Needless to say, I was very unhappy. My first call to AAA was at 12:59. 3 1/2 hours later my car had not been towed.
I have been a member of AAA since 1990. I have only had to use it 2 or 3 times in all those years, but it made me feel secure to have it... just in case. Now, my membership renewal is due and I am asking myself is it worth it? If I can't depend on getting service, why should I get it?

It is not my fault that AAA contracts with towing companies who have trucks that are in need of mechanical repair! It's totally unexcusable.
At the very least, I would like to have an apology. What would really be nice is for AAA to comp my membership from this year or next.

Desired outcome: ApologyComp my membership fee for this year or for next.
