On April 21, 2023 at approximately 11 am, I made a call for road side assistance for a flat tire. I was 700 miles from home, and my 2019 Mitsubishi does not have a spare tire. I was located on a military base in Paris Island, SC. A technician arrived in a pick up truck to put air in the tire, but it would not hold air. I called AAA back to let them know we needed at tow, at 11:40 am. I was told they would have one to us. I then received a text message informing me a technician was in route. I was told at 2:17, 2:47, 4:00 etc. I have four or five technician texts telling me in route. By 6 pm, the very first driver called my cell to tell me he was on his way. At 7pm, I received a call from the front gate of the base, he had a suspended DL, and could not enter? But he had another driver that was in route, to take over. At 8 pm I received a call from AAA stating that driver and truck was gone. At this point, the military police was calling me every 30 minutes asking for an update. Now at this point all the tire shops are closed. At 830 I called again, and was told there was no open call for roadside assistance! Then a driver calls me, for the the 8th time I was being told a driver was in route to me. A driver finally arrived at 10 pm was able to enter the base. Now I was being told the driver could not take me to my drop off location because it was an hour away. This was my hotel. After pleading with the owner on the phone they agreed to tow the car and take us to the hotel in Hilton Head Island. We got some sleep and started the process all over again April 22, 2023 Saturday morning, called at 830 am for a tow truck to come to the hotel, and they asked if I would like to go to a AAA approved facility for the tire. I agreed and asked for the telephone number to this business to call and clarify my services would be rendered. I called this place and they were CLOSED. So I called AAA again to change my drop location and was told there was no open service call. At this point I hung up the phone and called a tow truck service personally to go only.3 miles to a Firestone tire shop. Once I was finished I called AAA for a work order number for the Tow truck service.

This was unacceptable. I pay for a premium Membership with AAA. I would not recommend AAA to anyone ever. The left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. Your services were absolutely worthless. I received text text that a technician was in route for over 11 hours.

Desired outcome: I am not even sure what I wish to come from this, other than you try and work with your AAA Carolina’s agents to one, be more considerate and understanding to your customers, and two, change your systems
