99 Cents Only Stores review: No shopping carts

I spoke to a male employee on the night of 6/28/23 and asked why there were no shopping carts in the rack outside and customers have to walk the parking lot to find one. He said the store lacks employees to retrieve carts. Carts are expensive. There are only 14 carts because they were stolen. And found carts are returned to other stores.

No employee to retrieve carts? He spent a long time talking with another employee in produce. Afterwards, he stood in front of the entrance doing nothing while I checked out. The store was empty. There were two cashiers.

One cashier was standing at an empty register.

Carts were stolen because employees haven't retrieved them in a long time.

Update: 7/1/23

No shopping carts. I had to stand outside store for a long time and wait for a customer to empty a cart so I could use. I am a disabled senior that is unable to use a basket. I will not shop at this store if the situation does not improve. The San Pedro store has plenty of carts and nicer employees.
