Katapult (formerly Zibby) Laptop purchase through zibby 04/03/2019

I purchased a laptop with zibby last year, and the interest rate when not being able to pay within 90 days is horrendous. I will never use your service again as the laptop ended up costing me double, became useless for the central purpose for which i bought it for and broke immediately out of warranty. I feel like a sucker and like a person who got dragged through the mud during my 1 year contract.

I also forgot the time that your company decided to pull funds out of my account without notice or authorization to make up for a late payment, therefore costing me more anyway with bank fees tacked on. If I find a way to take you to court over this I will. Wish i could get some of my wasted money back

Katapult (formerly Zibby) payment form

This company will not accept my bak card because it says it is considered a pre paid card which it is not. I can make mothly payments with this card but not for the $45 down payment. Makes no sense. I used this same card for the down payment and reoccurring payments every month for my last lease that I paid off and paid all the extra fees. I don't understand so I guess they have lost a good customer just when we don't have a mattress to sleep on and need one asap during this pademic. Thanks alot Katapult.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) my wayfair lease

I called on three separate occasions to have my husbands credit card information removed from the account which wasn't even the card I opened the account with. He thought he was making a one time payment but turns out this company kept and stored his information in their system without his permission which of course, is a legal issue. I was informed by Katapult/Zibby that they shut off autopay but the card was charged multiple times. I called to ask to have it taken down AGAIN ... and provided them with two different credit cards. Apparently they were having system issues and refused to take either card and stated they would not removed my husbands card from the account. This is the most corrupt company I have ever dealt with. They pretty much said nothing we can do... and to cancel the card if that was my prerogative . I'm completely disgusted, their customer service sucks and the agents are difficult to understand because they all sound like English is not their first language.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) fraudulent account

I am currently going through a very fraudulent situation with zibby and would be happy to go to court over it! I have all the documentation to prove it! I am currently going through a very fraudulent situation with zibby right now and would be happy to go to court over it! I was first going to use them to purchase my items from wayfair, it was a large purchase so I didn't want to pay it all out of pocket. I ended up not using zibby and purchased the items directly from wayfair. Now a year later they have sent me to collection for the full amount of my order even though I paid wayfair direct. They pulled unauthorized money from my account two month in a row without my authorization. Now they say I have to deal with the collection agency directly to get my money back and to clear up the account along with my credit. I stayed on the phone with them for over an hour with a wayfair rep on the line as well, cindy who was awesome by the way! First we talked to the customer service rep who answered, then we asked to speak to her supervisor since she could not help, we talked to him and received the same answer "he could not do anything" finally talked to shay from the special request department, cindy confirmed I never purchased anything from wayfair through zibby financing. Shay said that she would need to talk to the collection agency to clear the situation up and that I should have a refund for the unauthorized charges to my account by the end of the day. Well that did not happen! The collection agency they hired called all of my family members to try to get ahold of me and said they were going to show up at my work to serve me documentation regarding the amount I owed to zibby and they were taking me to court. Good luck! This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I just wasted and hour and half of my life that I can not get back on horrible customer service with zibby! I called back again this evening as shay said this would all be resolved by the end of business today and she has gone home. She did not contact thre collection agency today to clear up anything... I will also be looking into contacting a lawyer regarding this situation. I have all the documentation and proof! Never ever use this company! I have seen looked into their bbb rating and shocking it is an f, they also have horrible reviews on the internet! Do not, I repeat do not use this company!

Do not, I repeat do not use this company ever! Shady as $%*^!

Katapult (formerly Zibby) refused refund

Ordered furniture from Wayfair that Zibby agreed to finance me for. Canceled a few hours later just couldn't validate the extreme 3x the cost of the furniture in interest. So, I was charged $71.33 December 17th upon placing the order, and was aware they had already put the little sticky pads to protect the floor from furniture scratches. I agreed to just keep those no biggie. However, I get a notification from Zibby that $1.14 had been billed today (December 27th), and that my basically $88 billion weekly pmt would be taken on January 10th. So, I called Wayfair and explained that they needed to get Zibby updated on the same day cancellation, and that I would like a refund for everything except the $20.46 sticky pads. He connected with Zibby and I on a conference call. Wayfair agreed to refund the $23.99 shipping back to Zibby who is where the $71.33 and $1.14 had been charged to my card by who in turn, paid Wayfair. So, I asked Zibby Rep Davis for a refund. He was increasingly rude about refusing, I asked to speak to his Supervisor. After a very long hold, Rosie answered was nice at first but was refusing to refund and inevitably became rude as well, so I finally get to the Manager of the special request department George another long hold by now I've been on the over an hour with maybe 20 minutes total talk time. George pulled the Pee Wee Herman "what Dottie? I can't hear you routine, and said he would call me right back. About another 15 minutes or more go by, and he calls. He refused to talk to me because after he announced that they record their calls, I made him aware that I do that as well. He said unless I stop recording, he had nothing to say. Okay for their protection, but not for the customers! He stated that's their policy. I guess greed means more to them than customer issue resolution. In my particular situation, a refund would be quite reasonable. Very hateful if you ever call for a refund.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) zibby leasing

I have a lease agreement with Zibby through Wayfair. I make payments the first of every month. At 8 am, they are calling me 8-12x a day, back to back. They call asking for ADDITIONAL payments and when I finally did to get them to stop calling me, they said they didn't receive either payment even though my bank shows both payments were taken through Zibby. Now it says I'm past due. (I'm not, my next payment isn't until December 1st)

My bank card was stolen and when I went online to change my information, I saw that Zibby had been attempting to charge my card for the past couple weeks, even though my contract says they CANNOT do this. I am not on autopay.

This is a Scam company. They keep changing how much I owe every time and can't provide a record of my balance due to the history of payments. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you like your money being stolen.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) zibby lease company

I have called zibby multiple times to tell them everything i bought from wayfair i never received or have returned. They have still not credited my account. I dont seem to be able to get them to zero out the account they r very crooked. Fraudulant practices. Wayfair has received all of the merchandise i returned and one item i canceled before it even shipped. Communication between wayfair and zibby has not went well they r both blaming the other for my zibby account not being credited properly and efficiently. Please check into these companies and get straightened out otherwise i will have to get the better business bureau involved and both companies will end up owing me money.

If you do not zero out the balance in the next couple days i will contact better business bureau and a lawyer about your fraudulent company actions. You will not get another dime out of me. Now cancel my contract and zero out my account. I can only say i wish i would have read up onyour company before dealing with you.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) unauthorized credit and bank card processing & bad billing

On October 27, 2018 I signed lease with Zibby.com for a new laptop with accessories I wanted from Lenovo. Per Zibby's requirements I made the initial deposit of $45.00 using my personal credit card. The lease agreement from that point forward required me to make a payment every two weeks.
On Saturday, November 15th I received both a text and email from Zibby stating that they tried to charge the credit card on file and the payment didn't go through. I never gave Zibby permission to do that but regardless I went out to the website and made a payment of $113. 56 that same day using my bank debit card.
On Monday, November 17th I received a text again saying a payment needed to be made without thinking I made another payment using my bank debit card. Then later that day I got another text and at that point I checked my bank account an found out I had paid them twice. I called Zibby who apologies and said the second payment would be applied towards my next payment due Nov 30th.
On November 29th I received a text stating Zibby had tried to charge my debit card for the payment and it didn't go through so to please call. I didn't give Zibby permission to charge my bank debit card and they had already been overpaid. So after talking to a customer service representative I was told it was Zibby's practice to charge the card on file which is setup as a default and ONLY if you call will they not do so so she turned off the automatic ACH.
That same day Zibby charged me another $113.56 so that now 3 payments made in less than a 32 day period. It didn't matter who I talked to they would not rectify the problem of the over payments. I am now forced to take the following actions:
1. Pay off the laptop sooner to meet the lease and not do any business again with them .
2. Pay via certified mail and keep record of my payments to keep these crooks from using my card toward future payments without my permission.
3. Report them to the both the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection and Better Business Bureau.
I don't know what's pissing me off more there disturbing ACH transaction practices or their lack in caring about making right on payments made. Buyer Beware.

It took me threatening to get a lawyer and complaining to the BBB for them to FINALLY cancel my Lenovo lease and refund me. It’s been a 3 week nightmare. Can’t imagine what you’ve been through. This is 30+ emails and calls later. At one point they just replying to me on purpose. That’s when I threatened getting a lawyer. They’ve been in contact since. I don’t know how these sickos can operate this scamming [censored] company with a conscience. I also have no idea how the BBB has given them and A+ rating on their website. If you google Zibby you can see they’ve scanned everyone.

The same thing happened to me. I have automatic payments setup for every other week. The payment processed and then the next day they still processed a second payment. I called and they advised me I would get a refund in 7 to 10 business days. I didn't feel like I had a choice. The next day I received text and emails telling me my account was still late. They took another payment. I called furious and they advised there was nothing they could do to help me. They would have to wait while it was under review before they could process any refunds. This was at the end of November. Here we are Mid December and I still have not received any emails or phone calls to say my refunds are processed. What can be done about this. So tired of calling to get the run around. I have contemplated trying to contact a Lawyer to see what can be done. I hope this is not happening to more people. Very bad business practice.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) misconception

I also got item and use the zibby loan company . Apprantly to save and avoid fees, well they didnt do as promise. They charge excessive fees and I ended up paying twice the amount of the loan. Very disappointed with the service. They have poor costumer service and they keep changing the story of fees and suspended fees. Watch out and don't, don't use them.

It sounds like Zibby was there to help you get approved for something that you wouldn't have typically gotten approved for. Then you didn't read the lease you signed because you must've been in such a rush to just take the merchandise that they so graciously approved you for. I know for fact they do not charge interest, so it sounds like you also exceeded your 90 days same-as-cash which resulted in you having to complete the lease...the lease you signed and agreed to. But some way, somehow...this is Zibby's fault? Ok.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) harassment, refusing to refund a double charge, fraud, lies, unethical behaviors

Professional rip-off artists! Even though the contract had stated there was no interest if paid off in 90 days, zibby kept sending me text messages that I owed the full amount of the extended contract, after I paid the loan off before the 90 days were up. I got so sick of their texts and phone call harassment that I paid the amount off after 30 days and they still charged me for the full amount of the extended loan. They refused to refund a double charge for the delivery fee, after the furniture company I took out the load from requested they refund it. The furniture company had other similar complaints to mine and were looking for another loan company to work with the last time I spoke with them. I faxed the contract to zibby 3 times and they still lied about what I owed them. They never refunded the double charge.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) fraudulent loan practices

I had a very unfortunate account with zibby.com. I purchased merchandise totaling $416.00 and i paid via auto deduction from my checking account monthly. I even paid extra one month so by the time the 90 days came up my account would have been paid in full. Today, august 16th i received notification that another payment was due and i was surprised as i paid off the account in full last month.
I had to pay an additional $202.44 with a credit card as they said i was one day late in making my payment. So for a $416.00 loan, i paid $618.44 which is a disgrace. I was not aware that this is how the program worked, and i made sure that i paid extra in advance so that when the 90 days were up, the account would have been paid in full.
I will find a way to take this company to court due to their fraudulent loan practices. I will make consumers aware of the injustice served and to never use this organization ever again, until they learn to deal honestly with the public.

The total purchase price of my items is $499.94. Zibby is charging me $2165.80! With the 11 payments I have made I have already paid for the purchase of the items but they are saying I still owe 15 more payments. This seems criminal for sure. There has to at least be an interest rate cap.

Ms. White is correct. She should not have over 150% of the cost of the merchandise IF she paid in full within 90 DAYS. It’s in the contract. If you pay in full within 90 days they only add 5% of the cost to the merchandise along with your taxes. She should have paid the merchandise cost of $416.00 + $20.80 (for the 5% of merchandise cost), plus state sales tax. You don’t pay those high lease fees if you do early pay off on or before the 90th day from when you purchased merchandise.

On Month X 2017, I purchased a refrigerator from sears through Zibby and when the item was purchased I included a 5 year master warranty protection. Since December of 2018, I have an issue with the refrigerator that required the refrigerator to be checked by a technician. When contacted Sears, Sears had no records of any warranty purchased. When contacted Zibby, Zibby stated that they contacted Sears and stated the following "It was a pleasure speaking with you today. We have confirmed with Sears that the following item 72009 22 cu. ft. 33" French-Door Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator w/Internal Dispenser - Black model number 0XXXXXX, is under a 5 year In-Home Master Plan as of 99/99/2017. The reference number for the warranty is XXXXXXX. I hope this helps! " Then they stated "The phone number we contacted Sears on 04/17/2019 was [protected] we spoke to Bobby and Julian. I will make sure someone gets to this quickly!" I contacted sears with the reference number given by Zibby and accroding to sears they have records of the purchase items but there is no records of any warranty being purchased. After much argument with Zibby regarding this matter, and since there is no records of any purchased warranty that I fully paid for plus tax and interest, I requested that money taken fro a bogus warranty be returned including tax and interest charged. Zibby has refused to refund money charged to me for what appears to be a fraudulent charged on their behalf.

I received a laptop for a certain amount, and in the six months that I have been dealing with this company, I've never missed a payment, yet my account status always says I'm past due, and last month, they took an additional month's payment from my bank account because of this error. I've been told numerous times that tech will look into my account, but it still says I'm past due. I have never dealt with a company this dysfunctional before, and will never deal with them again. DO NOT use them. They have no clue what they are doing and will drain your bank account.

That is how leasing companies make their income. It is about double which is actually lower than many companies out there. Unitl a person's credit is good enough to qualify for financing options at 19.99% APR, leasing is an option. Yes it costs more if you do not take advantage of 90 days same as cash. It is much better than getting a payday loan or a high interest bad credit installment loan. Many of their APR rates are 500%, These companies are taking a huge risk, because many people with bad credit will default or not pay. I understand being frustrated, Cancer treatment caused me to lose a whole year of pay and have over $50 thousand in medical bills after the insurance paid $256, 000 for my advanced cancer treatment. I had to do a chapter 13, which I paid in full and it was successfully discharged 8 months ago. Even though I have built my credit score back up to 650, my history of bankruptcy makes many companies instantly reject my application. Most companies require a year to two years wait after bankrupty, no matter your credit score and income. If you need a major purchase this option is available. I used this to purchase furniture. Yes I eventually paid off my amount early but still paid almost double. It sucks, but that is the way it works,
These companies have to make money, and make up for the monetary losses from those who default. It is frustrating, but it is not illegal and is explained in the terms. If you borrow money from any company you will end up paying more than you borrowed. Most credit cards you end up paying double or more since the APR rate is calculated monthly. If you want to pay exactly what you borrowed you must pay it back before 90 days, or borrow money from a friend or relative. I too am having to suffer through this unitl I build my credit up and my time post bankruptcy is over, but when I needed a new laptop, I HAD to have one. This option is much better than going without, which is not possible since I use for my work at home.
I continue to work on building my credit a bit at a time, and if I need to use the lease option, I try and pay extra every month towards the principal, or actual price if I cannot pay off in 90 days. I for one am glad this option is available or I would not be typing right now, ,

It's right there in the disclosure agreement... I purchased a ghost bed for $795 through zibby, with payments of 132.50 over 12 months... simple math would tell you you'd be paying double if you went full term without buy out. Best way to buy with them is to purchase something until it is down to a buy out price you can afford then buying the property outright.

They are not fraudulent, you just skipped over the agreement and clicked yes without reading something... you'd lose whatever court case you'd have, that is if you even got a lawyer to take the case.

Hate to tell you this but they are fraudulent. I’m assuming you work for them. I understand they are a business but when you are given every single reason why they can’t take a payment to pay off the merchandise within the 90days and then one day past due because the last 4 times you tried were unsuccessful something seems fishy. You sound JUST like them :)
I’m sure this will be a class action later on down the road. Even if it’s in the contract ...everyone knows that doesn’t make it legal.

Katapult (formerly Zibby) added payment to terms & conditions

I register on Zibby Online Aution website but I was not given a warning about $100 charge that followed my registration. So, in order to fix the problem I called customer service and they told that I signed terms and conditions without reading. Is it legal to put the payment into terms & conditions?

The seller never delivered a product and Katapult won’t do anything when I contact them about a retailer scamming them off their site. They are just saying seller sent item and they don’t need any proof. Almost a month now of this. They want me to contact the scammer (simpletronic) to cancel the order. They want the scammer to return money.

I've never heard of or used Katapault yet I just received this text message. Quite concerning. Not too thrilled about this. I have no idea what or who they are affiliated with or how they got my phone number but it appears as if someone is trying to make an account under my email.

I'm trying to pay my initial payment and it says error for more than 10 times with different cards. I'm worried that I might have to pay the penalty fee. Their customer service isn't responding
