I had a rough ride that cost me NZD30K (near USD20K) before I terminated my agreement with them.
Their 'editing' appeared to come down to shoving the MS through an AI programme which was quite inappropriate as my book is written in Victorian English. Most 'corrections' had to be undone. I asked to be put in contact with the editor and wasn't - I suspect this was because there wasn't one! The MS went back and forth as corrections (to boo-boo's they had made) had not been attended to. A junior high school class on a publishing project would have done better.
I asked repeatedly for legal advice about the illustrations but their 'legal dept', if it exists at all, never responded and I ended up replacing all illustrations with pics from Wiki Commons.
Meantimes I was hit repeatedly with marketing 'offers' ("I'll go and get a special discount for you" - yeah sure). The straw that broke the camel's back was when I was told I had to go and look for an agent! And of course that personage would be after his/her pound of flesh too!
I wanted to take them to the Small Claims Tribunal here in NZ (which handles claims up to $30K) but while they operate using a NZ internet address they are not a registered company here and have no physical address so a summons cannot be delivered!
This crowd is bad news. Zero professionalism, gutter ethics, technical incompetence.
Recommendation: Steer well clear of them.
