World Finance / LoansByWorld.com review: threats,harrassment, trying to be coerced into renewing loan ( 3 comments)

This company needs to be shut down, They are nice when you walk in the door, be a day late on a payment, and the harassment begins, First you are required to list nearly all your assets, property, etc, then a list of 12 references, if you are so much as a day late, they begin calling everyone on the list multiple times per day, You can call and try to explain when you will be able to make the payment, but this isn't good enough, it says on the door payment arrangements can be made, but this is a lie, When you call they are rude and obnoxious, you are informed that all your property is up for being seized, They asked me for the make and model of my car, I explained that I didn't want my car added as property, they assured me it wouldn't be, but later on the paperwork was changed to list my car as the primary collateral, they somehow looked up the VIN and licience plate number, which I NEVER gave to them, and then threatened to take my car, The only way I could see them getting that info was coming to my house and writing it down. The last time I checked, changing signed paperwork was illegal. This is the kicker, if you are late on a payment, you can either REFINANCE the loan, or be threatened, of course refinancing means a bunch more interest, it's either you do, or we start calling people, I seem to think that sounds like loansharking, who can I call to report these people? I'm positive laws are being broken, I can understand collection if you were a month late, but just for being days late? Many of the people who deal with these companies are poor and really need the money, so they are being taken advantage of. Where is their protection?
