I’m frustrated with never being able to see a doctor. I understand the nurse practitioners are qualified to diagnose, etc. but I believe for monetary purposes patients are being g directed away from physicians. I called my dr office on June 2nd for an appointment with my DOCTOR and was told there were no openings until June 25th. I’d delayed making an appointment for three weeks thinking I’d get better, but I only got worse. Had a teledoc visit with an NP and was prescribed an antibiotic, cough suppressant, and a nasal spray. Also they contacted an imaging center for a chest X-ray. Three-four days later I contacted the imaging center and requested a copy since the dr.office had not contacted me. Called the dr office and I can’t get in for another 3 weeks! I asked what I was supposed to do to see a doctor and was told to go to the ER!They claim they’d never received the results. This is the standard answer regarding ANY test result. I reached out to UHC. The rep changed my doctor to another one and the same clinic and I have an appointment tomorrow. I want to know how visiting an ER is more cost effective for me or the company as opposed to seeing a doctor. I will find another clinic once this is resolved; nothing remotely connected to WellMed.
Claimed loss: I am immunocompromised and this clinic doesn’t care about its patients.

Oh, I feel this so deeply — you’re sick, you’ve been waiting weeks, and all you want is to see your actual doctor, not another NP or an ER waiting room. Telling you to go to the ER instead of seeing a physician? That’s not healthcare — that’s a runaround. I’m so glad UHC helped switch you to a different doctor in the same clinic. But you shouldn’t have had to fight this hard. You deserve someone who sees you, not just your chart. Please do find another clinic. You matter. Your health matters. Don’t settle for this.
