I moved my household goods from Bangalore to Kolkata on 13th of August. On receiving the material in Kolkata I found that one of the cot mattress was damaged due to rough handling and water seepage. Immediately I notified Mr. Vikas of VRL Safe Packers to claim the insurance as they took out the insurance with Future Generali for the complete consignment on my behalf. Within couple of hours he said, a complain with Insurance company has been lodged and that they would contact me in couple of days and requested me to release the full payment, which I did. When I didn't get a call from Future Generali I mailed them and came to know that no one has lodged any claim at all. As soon as Mr. Vikas came to know that I have contacted Future Generali directly he stopped taking my calls. Future Generali asked me to fill a self survey form, a claim form claiming Rs. 5000 and provide LR, Bill etc. - which I did wasting my precious time to come to know today the following (extract from the Future Generali Mail below)

"The ITC (B) covers loss or damage to the subject matter insured caused by
(a) (i) Fire
(ii) Lightning
(iii) Breakage of bridges
b) (i) Collision with or by the carrying vehicle
(ii) Overturning of the carrying vehicle
(iii) Derailment or accidents of like nature to the carrying railway wagon vehicle.
As the cause of loss identified on receipt of documentation, does not fall under the aforesaid causes listed ITC (B) the said claim is not recoverable/tenable under captioned policy of insurance."

Please be aware of such fraud companies.

Apart from the above VRL Safe Packers dismantled two of my wardrobes and committed that they will arrange a carpenter in Kolkata to fix it back which they never did.

We have shifted from Bangalore to Coimbatore via VRL Safe Packers & Movers. They told us that insurance is mandatory and we have paid the full payment along with insurance amount initially.On receiving goods, we found Dish is damaged, on calling the company no response.They informed they will sent insurance company details via mail, we made frequent follow up but no response.
They have also informed us that while unloading they will assemble the cot. But the unloading people did not do it and they are telling that they have no connection with the Packers and Movers, they are separate people who were called for just unloading.The company did not keep up their promises and failed to provide us the insurance amount as well.
