We engaged King Movers as we were convinced by the sales team that they are a reliable company and will Ensure to get the job done satisfactory. So here are the issues that I have: 1. Arrived at 10, where they supposed to arrive at 9 2. They are not in uniform, so it is clear they are subcontractor not from King Movers 3. I have about 70 boxes, as I have most of the things packed before they come. Took them nearly 2 hours to load the boxes, 2 speakers and 2 chairs. 4. They promised 2 trucks, but we were given 1. Promises 3 clothes racks, but we got 1. Condition of clothes rack is broken and poor. 5. After the first load, returning truck took 2.5 hours from Telok Blangah to Simei. By then, we could not move anymore. Most furnitures are not moved. 6. Stuff that have already loaded to the truck, has to be unloaded. After 30 mins, I realised that the truck and a few guys went missing. My stuff could not be unload and I have to wait for the guys to return. 7. They returned at 6. By 6:15, the condo securities are at the truck asking them to leave the premise. And I can't leave the house until the furniture is unloaded. Only 15 mins to unload as they were just a few pieces of furniture and bicycles. 8. Promised to come back the next day at 8:30. It's 10:10 AM now and they are not here. When I called the office earlier, I was told that the team went missing and not picking up calls. They are getting another subcontractor as a replacement. So much inconvenience, I have to take additional day of leave and jobs are not done. Worst, I am handing over my unit this afternoon and I am not sure if I can get my furnitures moved on time. Their tag line is 'your trusted movers'. They are absolutely not to be trusted at all. They never keep their word - they didn't deliver the boxes at the time promised. They never showed up at the time they gave to collect the boxes. But the worse thing was they didn't even have the courtesy to call and inform us. They did not complete the job either. At the end of the move they left so many items behind we had to transport them ourselves. Not only that they left the apartment with the front door wide open, lights on, Aircon blasting in every room in fact the ac in our bedroom was left leaking! They left trash like boxes, cling film all over the apartment even in the common areas. The condo security personnel ended up calling us to get hold of them to clean up the mess! Nightmare movers more like it. Moving house is stressful enough! We paid over a thousand dollars and this with no truck as it was in same condo. Please avoid using king movers. I used King Movers in Edmonton for my last move. I used them because their ad on their web site states that they are fully insured and bonded. They guarantee that your items will be handled in a safe and professional mannor. Before the movers began I asked again if they were insured because I have some expensive items that I want protected. We are fully insured and bonded, was the response. When they arrived at the new location they wouldn't unload until I paid them so I did. Turned out that my most valued piece of furniture, a brand new king poster bed, was put in the truck upside down without protection and literally dragged off. The amount of damage was huge and I was furious. When I spoke to the owner of the company I was told that if I wanted insurance on my things then I should have said so because they offer extra insurance. Unbelievable! When questioned about the insurance they boast about I was told that "Yes, we are fully insured, the truck and the contents but that's in case of an accident. They're crooks, not professional movers. They said they may fix the damage they caused if I give them 3 quotes from reputable repair shops at a cost of $80.00 per quote. I want them to take responsibility for the damage and fix my bedroom suite.
