My 80 year old mother is a victim. She had them for a few years and was unhappy due to them raising prices constantly and she always paid her bill before it was even due, never missed a payment , but that is NOT the complaint. When she sold her house she returned all the small equipment in the house, but they are bullying her with collection emails about the dish THEY installed outside on that house on a pole. This equipment is installed with someone that has the knowledge and hardware to do so. They were expecting my mom at 80 years old to do AND SHIP it to them on her dime. I tried to see if I could disassemble it off the pole and I was unable to. These individuals are not only bulling her into paying for this large equipment that THEY should be the ones uninstalling but they are in the process of ruining her Good credit ! Please HELP ! Does anyone know if a Lawyer that is already on this case of suing . Please provide a phone number if possible or if a Lawyer that is interested in taking this case. Please try to contact me. Unfortunately I can not leave any contact information for myself.
Desired outcome: To STOP this so called company from ruining my mothers good credit.

This is a classic case of a company expecting the impossible from an elderly customer, and it is infuriating. Here is the practical path: call ViaSat and ask for the "Equipment Recovery Department" specifically, not general billing. State clearly that the dish is attached to a property she no longer owns and that you will not pay for its removal or shipping. If they persist, file a complaint with the FCC and your state's Attorney General's consumer protection division, as satellite providers are regulated. Also, send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) attaching her return receipts for the indoor equipment and her proof of sale, so they cannot damage her credit further. You do not need a lawyer yet; these three steps often force a resolution.
