After contacting ViaSat around 9am about the disconnections, they track disconnections , they admitted between 1am and 6am there were about 4 disconnects spaced a couple hours apart and I asked why in normal hours such as 8am why have I been disconnected more time in the hour between 8 and 9am , when I called, than the whole late night hours . There must have been 15 disconnects during that 1 hour.
I was told the antenna is misaligned but that doesn't make any sense because if it were misaligned I would think the service would be always out , not come and go ,and more often during normal traffic times ,or at all. It would have to be a bobblehead antenna to work the way they describe .
I just "downgraded" to a more expensive plan that gives me more GB's and it also comes with more disconnections is why I say downgraded .
This is the third time I've called since I "downgraded" and after each phone call the antenna suddenly aligned itself. From 9 till 10 I don't remember any disconnections so for them to tell me that it is due to an antenna not pointing in the right direction has to be some sort of company policy to cover the lousy service they provide . I asked if it was programmed into the package or the modem that it would cause these problems with a higher costing plan , I was told np. But none of it makes sense.
Outages during normal traffic but not late night during low use traffic. Comes and goes randomly . A mis pointed antenna that is only mis pointed sometimes . And it suddenly fixes itself after a complaint. This is not quality service . And it is not due to the modem needing rebooting .
It has been an hour and a half now since the last call and no disconnections yet . With everything I've experienced there is no way that I can believe anything they say to try to explain this . I'm experiencing it , they're just trying to justify it . This company is not worth it
Update . So it's been over 2 hours since the complaint to ViaSat and still no disconnects , in the normal traffic use time , raises my suspicions
Another update It's now been 3 hours and no disconnections and on top of that it is now overcast out there , clouds everywhere .
2pm UPDATE Over 8 hours now since 9am complaint , no disconnections, nothing at all what I experienced before. That blue light would have been flashing white constantly ,.
It looks like an attempt to get an unnecessary service call with a $95 dollar price tag
It's been 8 hours now and I haven't had any interruptions
