My cat was on a waiting list to get her bum checked which is always a tech visit. I got the text that they had availability the next day, so I took her. A vet tech took me back and did a quick exam then said the vet would be in. This was a tech visit, and I when I said that he shrugged his shoulders as if to say, "oh well". Then Dr Tolmer vet came in with a "trainee". She proceeds to examine her then told me that Franchesca needed to have her teeth cleaned. She showed me her teeth very fast. I was there at the end of last year on a Sunday for a wellness visit and the vet said that her teeth looked good. REALLY good. Maybe they needed done. I don't know. She gave her vaccines and bloodwork to see if she can be on anesthesia for the teeth cleaning. She was also treated for the reason she came in for. I left paying a bill for $694.82. The next morning my cat was lethargic and would not eat. I called to report this and said I wanted to bring her in. They said, "well we don't know if it's from the vaccines". I said I know my cat, and it was indeed from the vaccines and not from stress. She spent the day under their care, and my bill was $500.57. Still not realizing I'm being ripped off, I call to make the appointment for the cleaning which had to be done 30 days or less after the bloodwork was done. I got the estimate on Tuesday which was from $2,013.05 to $2516.31. Shocked, I called to cancel. I got a message today to confirm my appointment which was to be on Thursday. I called twice. Each time I was put on hold for over 6 minutes. I had no choice but to go in there personally to make sure it was cancelled. The agent at the desk was the same one who I talked to when I cancelled. She made excuses. I told her I wanted my cat's medical records. She graciously printed them out and gave me a folder and apologized. The people in this office have commented on my expensive car in the past. I was taken advantage of because I have never had a problem paying my bill. I expect compensation. I know a lot of people and if I don't hear something I will escalate this further. Glad I found a new vet!
