So my Wife has a prescription for Genotropin Syringes which we filled through CVS in North Charleston SC. I go into fill the prescription for the first time in August 2015 and was told by the Pharmacy that our Insurance carrier Aetna doesn't cover the prescription and that we'll have to pay 100 percent out of pocket 623.00 per month. don't really have a choice, she has to have the meds. for the last Three months I fill and keep asking if there is a discount or if it can be covered in some other say. No says CVS Pharmacist. Called Aetna to complain and find out that CVS should have told us that a simple Doctor prior authorization to Aetna would have covered the drug at 40.00 per month instead of the 623.00. Call CVS Prescription line and they say "sorry" the pharmacy should have told you that. I can turn in a claim to Aetna for the October prescription but Aetna tell me anything over 30 days I'm outta luck. Would really like to see CVS step up and refund the overage for August and September. Filed a coplaint with Aetna and will take it as far as I need too.
I normally don't agree with complaints on here but this one actually might be legitimate. They should have told you and I hope you get reimbursement.
