On February 4, 2021, around 11:30am I went to get several prescriptions filled up at CVS, 1443 Richmond Rd, Lyndhurst, OH.
As I was waiting in front of the window, I saw an employee manipulating pills with bare hands - no gloves. She was transferring pills from a large container into a funnel. When pills got stuck, she put her hand into the funnel, moved the pills around and pushed them down.
When finished with this job, the employee seized several small orange bottles by inserting a finger in each one, pressing against her thumb to hold them together. She moved the bottles this way to where she needed to fill them.
After witnessing these two events, I cancelled my order and took my prescriptions to another pharmacy — not a CVS.
The employee was about 8 feet away from me when I observed her. She was completely at ease doing what I observed, not trying to hide her actions.
To me, this meant that she had not been instructed about basic hygiene practices, particularly in the time of COVID.
I hold the supervisors responsible for such an incident.
I attempted to call the CVS Customer Service Department, waited 20 minutes, was transferred to the "proper" service, and the line went dead.
