I bought a sofa bed two months ago. After it arrived we barely used it since we have another sofa and then my guest arrived, we open it and set up the bed, she slept on it for 7 days and then when my housekeeper came to clean I tried to close it. I am small and not very strong, I could not close it, I called Ashley's customer service and I told them what was happening and they agree with me that I should not try to try to force it close. My guest is 5'4 and about 190 lbs. She also has carpal tunnel and her hands are not strong. there is no way that she could have damage the hardware. However, the Ashley repair technician that came looked at it and immediately said that I the customer damage the sofa. How can I damage the sofa by just opening it and having my friend sleep on it. The guy said you bend the hardware so bad the sofa won't close. I never did anything to the sofa. I paid $1060 for the sofa bed. Why would I damage it. This sofa hardware was defective and it is easier for Ashleys to blame it on me so that you do not have to fix it as it is brand new and it is under warranty. The sofa Is now useless and it will not open or close it is just stuck. Why would anyone pay more than $1000 for something to waste it and be useless. I need you to honor the warranty and fix it. It is not right to blame the customer.
Desired outcome: Fix my sofa bed. I can't afford to waste $1060.
