YESTERDAY, i'd spoke to someone by the name of KEVIN extension 506 from USFINANCIALARESOURCES, NUMBER: "they have so many different numbers" he told me i was accepted for a $4, 000 grant. so he told my information and explained to me about how it works. he asked if i had a debit card and asked for that information. So naive, i gave it to them. by this morning a charge of $3.87 and $29.85 was taken out of my account. they keep calling by different names first Kevin, Dean, Robert, and somebody else. they called back asking for the confirmation number and my social and told me in order to get the grant i would have to pay a $400 fee to receive my $5000 loan (not $4000) and i should have a check by tomorrow morning. i told him i didnt have it and he told me i need it now and that he would call back in 30 min to receive it. i told him dont worry about it and he got mad. i told him when is my money getting refunded, because they didn't inform me about that, ... he hung up in my face. and i cant call back, i tried 5 times!

I received a call this evening from an Indian dude named Malcolm (first red flag). He proceeded to tell me that he was calling from the Federal government, and that since I pay so much in taxes I qualify for a grant of $4, 500. AWESOME! So then he asked for a CC number..."it can even be a pre-paid credit card number!" I told him that I don't have a credit card...can he just mail me a check? lol I played along with him for quite some time - all the while reading the complaints on this board. So - he said that he can't mail a check - he needs a CC to deposit the money to (SURPRISE!). He said that he would even call me back tomorrow if I could get a CC! How nice of him...so I told him that I couldn't. Then we hung up. 5 minutes later he called back and said that he spoke to his supervisor and they COULD mail me a check. WONDERFUL! BUT...there is a small fee of $3.87 before he could do so. I asked him to please take the $3.87 out of the check prior to mailing it me...leaving the total of the check at $4, 496.13. We both giggled as he complimented my math skills...I then told him that the gig was up. I knew this was a scam and please take me off the call list (ok - I really wasn't that nice at this point). This is obviously a SCAM, y'all. Please do your research prior to giving any information to someone.

I got a call today from US Financial Resources, promising me a grant that I had applied for (I hadn't) and that I would never need to pay back. They asked for $3.87 for identifying me and for processing charges. I discerned it was a scam as the person who called me was not consistent in his statement. These are details - please note and be aware if someone calls you from the same co.
a. Call ID - Telephone # +[protected] (California)
b. The person who called me identified himself as Allan Williams and said I had qualified for a US Gov Grant, minimum of $5000. He spoke with a foreign accent, possibly Indian or Pakistani.
c. On my asking whether he represented a US Gov agency, Allan specifically said his organization was a US Federal Government organization, based in California. It bothers me that he had my name, email, address and phone no. accurately
e. I was suspicious and asked for his street address - he would not give it out on an open line 'for security' but said he would send me an email with information as soon as I paid the $3.87 over the phone.
f. When I pointed out that Gov agencies do not usually start any process with a cold-call - they always send a physical letter first and follow it up with an exhaustive bureaucratic process and that this was very unconventional, he had nothing to say. He kept insisting that I pay so that they could send out the documentation.
g. At this point, I firmly told him that I will NOT make any payments till I get at least his street address. He said he would email it to me and hung up.

Watch out. These guys don't feel right.

Do not trust anything from this number total scam. They called saying I was approved for a grant all they need was my account info and I told them I would not give it to them they can give me a web address to except it or mail it to me. They said they can't do either and they would have to say I denied the grant if I didn't give them info. I knew there it was a scam. then I went to this web sight after getting off the phone and I am so happy I didn't fall into thier trap/ Be careful

I was just call informed that I was to receive a grant for up to 7k all they need was my account info so they can transfer the money. When I asked if I could except it online or if they could mail it to me I was told no they had to place it in my account so it would be available today. I told them there was no way I was going to give them my information, they said if I didn't they would have to say I denied the grant. I knew right there it was a scam. Right after I got off the phone I looked online and it stated this is exactly what they have been doing. I'm glad I didn't fall into there trap but it would be easy for others to believe it was real.

I just had the same thing happen. He said I had received a grant that I had applied for online. I don't remember ever applying for a grant
online. He wanted me to pay $3.87 for processing the paper work for the state and to set up a username and password for the website
www.usfinancialresources.com. Phone number was [protected]. It sounded like a scam to me

They have updated their tactics. They say that I have already qualified and that I will not be charged the 60 dollar membership fee that their website has listed at www.usfinancialassociates.com. I found this website and while I was on the phone with the guy, he told me I had already qualified and that the 3.87 was for processing the paperwork with the state government..

After the initial guy, thick Indian accent, a second guy came on the phone saying he was a manager and was listening to the call. He spent about 20 minutes telling me that it is safe and I would not receive any other charges.

I told him to take my number off of their call list and that I am not interested in grants and that I am not giving them my cc number. We will see if they call back.

Also, I blocked about 10 different numbers that this company has used to contact me and after 2 weeks, they called using a number that my phone said was Unidentified caller. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO!

So I got a call from the same company. No way was I going to give them my credit card number till I legitimately looked them up and see what they were all about. I don't ever remember filling anything out like this asking for help. He told me that I had to pay 3.87. I told him that I wasn't paying. He told me I couldn't access the website till I paid and it was a one time thing. I told him that I had to talk with my husband. So, I will talk with hubby but I am not going for it. The website is www.usfinancialresources.com while looking around the terms and conditions it said for a membership after 10 days that I would be charged 59.95 and there on afterwards. So, please research a company that claims to promise you something and don't give out your CC number till you know for sure that it is legit. Thank you for your time.

I just received the call, refused to give cc # was sent to "supervisor" laughed at him told "super" I do not give out any numbers he only needed the $3.87 for processing. I told him he caught me without a prepaid card with $3.87. I then told him I would have to go get one. He asked how long it would take and he would call me back then. My next trip was to the computer and here I am typing my complaint.
Nothing in life is free, and now a days you have to look the gift horse in the mouth.
I'll wait for the call back, but I'm not holding my breath nor sitting by the phone I've other things I have to do. Free money would be nice after 50 years of working but lottery is the only hope!

I just received a call from Hanna Novas claiming to be from US financial resources. She sounded like she was from India or the Philippines. She informed me that she had received an online application and would to offer me a free grant to use for whatever i want, business, housing assistance, school as long as its going to a legitimate cause. She read from a script, and when I asked a question she just repeated the last paragraph of the script. I entertained her by letting her prattle on. She even went as far as to say that I was lucky because I was selected to get this get this free grant. (Condescending much) then she informed that In order for me to activate my account I will need to pay 3.69. I told her that grants don't work that way n that i wasn't interested. She got her seniour supervisor on the line who proceeded to read the same script. I basically called them out as a scam and he vehemently denied it of course. When I said I was not interested in being robbed he said its is not his loss. I guess being rude and condescending is what it takes to become a seniour supervisor there..

Jennie Brown jb1140 cld from Texas to tell me I'm qualified to receive $9, 600 interest free, Government Grant Money never have to give back free during my life time. Representing US Financial Resources, 461 E 1000 South, Suite B, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. Phone [protected].
I let her keep talking then she asked me for $3.87 which CC or my debit card number to use?

Yeah, I'm so thankful I googled this company to read all of your responses and read them out loud to her. I told her this is stinking. She hung up without even saying, "good bye"...

US financial resources calls me every other day. Today I told them I was looking for my credit card. Instead, I was looking them up online. I thought they were a scam the very first time they called, but I decided to look them up and found this site. I told the thickly accented East Indian that I knew this was a scam, that I wasn't a stupid American and called him a slumdog, then hung up. I said the same thing to another guy and hung up. He actually called me back to ask why I called him a slumdog. I said, "Duh, I know you are just another con artist, "

There is another scam out there. It was also about grant money. They asked which account I wanted the money sent to. When I told him I wanted a check sent to my post office box he hung up.

Another Indian called and said he had information that I had had a surgery for a pelvic sling. They were filing a class action suit and wanted my cc so they could charge a small sum to have my name put on the list of clients. 1. lawyers do not call you to ask for a small payment to be part of a class action suit. 2.i never had surgery for a pelvic sling 3. all health information is protected by HIPAA, therefore no one can look at medical records in order to find clients for a class action suit. Attorneys do place ads on tv and in magazines and newspapers looking for potential medical malpractice clients in order to file a class action suit Currently there is an ad for those young males who took a certain medication and grew breasts. There is an ad for those women who had a pelvic sling put in and it caused problems. There is also an ad for those people who had an artificial hip put in and it does nothing but cause problems. Consumers need to keep their eyes open and look the company up on the internet to see if there are any complaints before they pull out their credit cards.

A good rule of thumb is to never give out your credit card information over the phone anyway. You really need to look into a company you find online as well. Call the Better Business Bureau. If you know of a scam, report it to the Attorney General.. The scam companies are only in business for a few months, and disappear before they can be investigated and charged with fraud.

This same thing happened to me today, they have been calling me for about a week now without saying anything, I finally got the call today and they said they were from usfinancialservices.com and they got my application from the grants website.. They were two Indian guys, I was stupid enough to give them my debit card number and the sum of $3.97 was deducted, I had to call my bank to cancel my card to avoid further transactions. This is a scam, don't fall for them no matter what they say.. Insult them over the phone. Bloody Indian mother###ers.

My wife received a call from a "unavailable" number on her lunch break.. Since we have some bills we are trying to pay I told her to answer it and see who it is... the gentleman on the phone told my wife she had put in for some grants in Feb when she was deployed to Guam and that she had been accepted to receive the grants... since we knew she didn't sign up for any grants being in Guam that was the first red flag... the second flag was when he told me that the money was tax payer funded and a government backed program... my wife handed me the phone and I began to question him about his company name and jumped online as I pressed on about what his company did I found the scambook.com and this page... as I read thru while stalling I gained some information on how they worked and threw it in his face... I told him I didn't want his services to not call my wife again and take us off of his call list... he had the cahones to say " thanks for wasting my time sir"... really?... wife is taking this issue to jag... the harassment will stop and the company will cease to exist... they work off of the same business model that Enzyte used to you give them you CC and they charge you a initial fee, then there"s another fee.. Then you had to pay for 3 months worth of the pills in advance and they just kept taking peoples money and when the people would cancel and want the money back the company would keep it as long as they could.. Most of the time until the customer got a attorney... horrible business practices if you could call that a business... time to take down these corporate thieves and hold them accountable for their actions... #accountable

These are some nasty people to deal with. You let them start the account. They take the $3.87 as they request. Then after checking the site you find that they have had a lot of complaints. So you cancel your account. Or so you think you have and then they continue to withdrawn money from the account. It turns out after that you call them and get lied to or hung up on. They say someone will call you back, but that does not happen either.

I got a call today asking for the same $3.87 to be put on cc. I told them to call me back Thursday and now that I know this is a scam I can tell them not to call again. I don't remember filling out a grant form neither. I almost gave this India man I had trouble understanding my debit card number wihich would have gave them ### to my account. I'm a senior on a limited income. I can't afford to get scamed. Someone needs to stop them. He even gave me an address and said they were legit .it was in Utah. Seems they are giving out different addresses.

I received a phone call from a person from India claiming that I had won a grant from the federal government due to my loans that I've taken out for school. They said I had to pay $3.87 and then fill out a form with my account information to receive the grant money. The number they called me on is [protected]. Before I accepted anything I looked up the name of the company they were calling from "United StTes Financial Resources" and the first thing that came up was a scam site. When I told them I thought this was a scam they tried to reassure me that it wasn't.

I got a call today from these people and told them to call me back in an hour, (while I research) an came up on this complaints board. I am glad I saw this. The only people saying that they got there grant money are people that are not just bad English spellers; their terrible usage of English comes through the writing (I bet they are all people in or from India that want to make it seem like this scam worked for them). They will be calling in an hour and I will let them know where to get off at.

They don't even know that there is a spell checker at the bottom of the page.

I tried to call sean back, did reach him, I guess mistakenly because he hung up on me. now they will not even answer my calls.

They called my husband two days later. using a 222 number. they spoke like they were from india.

How interesting, I checked the box for grants expecting an e-mail with additional information, within 3 minuets I received a call from a young man from the India region.
Now I can get into some real nasty stereotypes here but I am not going to wast my time or yours. So the conversation went for about 5 minutes and the only coherent words I could get was his name, a wrong zip code, and a quick payment for 3.83 the magic number we all seem to be exposed to. Anyway I could hear the boiler room tension in the background, and as he kept ranting "you want grant, give me number only one time charge of 3.83 I tried to tell this dude " hey It's not the 3.83 I am worried about, it the point that you will have access to my account and all I know is your a voice on the other end of the line" just give me number and we only charge 3.83, I stated that I have worked with the government before and The one thing I know is Our Gov. ain't fast. And he still wanted the number of card so he can get 3.83 I am not a racist or anything near that realm of negativity. I just couldn't understand that he needed 3.83 to give me a confirmation number. All in all I knew it was a scam however this dudes English was so bad that I could only pick out a few words., 3.83, and confirmation number on computer. After that 5 min. Conversation I realized he probably would not understand my British humor and the fun I could have had. Now days with the internet being such a con game, the best game in town is to play with the minds of the idiots on the other end of the phone. Nuffe said!
I need to know what is so symbolic about 3.83, any hints out there?

I just received a call from someone with an Indian accent didn't specify his name nor where he was calling from and said I was approved for a government grant. When I asked him where was he calling from and the name of the company he said US Financial Resources. Then I asked him how much money was I approved for, he told me 2, 500; then I asked him how did he get my information and what information did he have? He said he had my email address and my city and state but not my home address. I asked him to give me a telephone number where I could reach him and he game me a telephone number with 2 extra digits and he said them in a different sequence like four numbers at a time. I then did the internet search and found this site with all the complaints. Thank you and thanks to my gut feeling not to have given him any information.

I remember filling out the application and changing my mind as soon as I realized there was a fee to pay (sensing fraud) and shortly after, closing the window before I submitted anything. these thick accent, big time crooks from a company called "US financial resources'' have been calling me ever since (don't ask me how they got my info) non-stop, sometimes 4 times a day... I've politely asked them to erase my info from their system: they gave me a stupid explanation about how that wasn't possible. I've been hung up on as soon as I start telling them I'm not interested. I've hung up on them time and time again hoping to discourage them: to no avail!... Once I even pretended to take the bait and went through with the motions and of course there was a $3.87 one-time fee to "set up an account" and get professional help from a ''grant expert''! Of course I hung up! They called me back a minute afterwards: I ignored the call. THEY CALLED BACK AGAIN: AT WHICH POINT I PICKED UP, CURSED THEM OUT AND HUNG UP! I'm sure I'm going to get a call tomorrow from my benefactors "David" or "Dave". Like all of you I was told that it was a one time offer, for as much money as i wanted... the usual BS... Do not fall for this people! Anytime you are asked to pay first in order to get your reward, just know that it's a scam!

Same call, only from Kevin who spoke very slowly in some kind of accent. He told me I had been granted money but could not tell me how much. When he asked for the 3.87 I told him I would send cash . . . he did not like that. Hope they don't call again. Thanks to this site I will be armed with info if he does.

These scammers are an insulting BARFORAMA. Dont fall for this folks. If you dont like the news..Go out and make some of your own .There are valid grants out there. I am using this experience as the impetus to gt money for myself...the honest way.

Rule of Thumb... Don't give any personal info to someone calling you for any reason at all, anyone can lie. It is different if you are the one calling, and if you know who you are calling.
