Wow! I'm glad I found this site while on the phone with them! So true about the accent, Utah, $3.80 ($50 monthly membership) unbelievable! The Indian sounding guy did not give up on trying to get a "processing fee". Even asked about someone else using their card, going to the store buy a prepaid card or just using my card lol. I told him I was on this site and was reading the comments out loud and he acted like I said nothing at all. Needless to say he didn't get my information and I'm so sorry for those they did get something from. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and saving me from any loss at an already financially stressful time.

Just got a call 5 minutes ago. I asked for the organization behind the grant and the guy said "US Financial Resources." He said I applied online and my application was chosen. I said I just need to give a cc# so they can charge $3.87 to give me a user name and password to log on a site, print an application to sign, and submit. I told him that I don't feel comfortable giving my info over the phone. I asked that he give me 10 minutes to investigate on the web, and he said he'd call back. He said if I felt sceptical, he can put his manager on the phone... I'm thinking, how is that going to change that fact that you are calling from India offering a "US Financial" grant? Glad I found this page before I became a victim. Thanks all!

So glad i came to this site, as with everybody else. a man called with a indian accent telling me a been approved for this grant. I would get any where between 10, 000 to 50, 000 dollars. I'm a mother of five who works odd jobs here and there. That money sounds damn good, knowing that my family could really use. To find that this is a scam pissing me off more then anything, these people are pretending to be from the government, and taking are hard earned money. I don't care if it was only a dollar, all americans need very penny they make. And when you don't make much like me, ### like this really sets me off. Don't be fooled people keep whatever you make to yourself and hopefully something happens to this company.

First of all grants.gov will supply u with all the tools you need to do grants. You can also call SCORE of the Plam beaches pop it into your browser and you can get all the info you need . The government has all these tools available for free. I have researched and never applied 4 a grant as I was told by a really good source it's difficult to get a grant and it is time consuming. Like writing a business plan. But I still mastered that 7 months ago. And managed to open a businss. If it weren't for being robbed and taken advantage of financially I would still have that business open with a storefront. Now I have moved into a spot with a decent business person and am still building my customer base for my tobacco shop.Anyhow any time you are asked to give $ to anyone for free services, it's generally a scam. As a matter of fact i have norton which checks all the sites I find questionable. All these things are there for our taking. I have also had this company calling me for 3 weeks now. i also tried to get a payday loan b4 closing and moving my business and found more scams and made more phone calls to retrieve my money it was nuts. The worst was a guy from UK that wanted $410.00 via moneygram for a $35, 000.00 loan. Uk doesn't supply loans to the US.but none the less he tried, Oh Baby I want to get to know you better Yada yada. LOL.calling me @ 130am ie: time difference 6am his time. Anyway we ended the loan scam with $100.00 down and then I finally told him I had an overdrawn account. Now my overhead is no longer $3000.00 a month and I am rebuilding. I wish I could find a loan or grant but it's hard to run the business and take care of customer needs. I am agreeing with the person who said if It Sounds Too Good To Be True It Is anyhow i hope my info has helped and The scams are everywhere in 6 months all the way down to my insurance company clipped me, But I may lose a battle but I will WIN the WAR. Push On. I f you give up yu have already lost. so here I am. Save 50 to 70% off your current Tobacco Budget. I can help you do that. Call Dee [protected] Anyhow I let off some steam I feel better when I help You I help Myself. Go to My Facebook Page The Village Tobacco Shop North Palm Bch. Good Luck to all of you. As Far as putting banking info on the internet, safe or not, a good way around it is greendot prepaid credit card. $5-$6 a month to maintain no interest and they can't take anything more than the amount left on the card. I also just opened a letter where the local ambulance company had an employee who tried to steal my personal info and was fired . i don't see where they were able to do any damage but I will see Monday. This has been my year for education. i am still the most fortunate woman I know you have no idea. God Bless. Here are some pix from my Dream Business The countertops are for sale. Also have tattoo beds stationary for a good price.

To Have charges taken off your bank account or other the phone # is usually listed next to the charge.( I've had to do it 5 times in the last week). If you dn't get the company who put it there to refund it the bank will generally list it as a scam and give your $ back.

Just got a call (1/3/13) from a man who said his name was Jack, but he had a very thick Indian accent and was very hard to understand. Told me I had filled out an application on their website (I had never been to "www.usfinancial.com" in my life and that I had qualified for a $5, 000.00 grant (and explained that it was FREE government money). Said all I had to do was pay $3.87 to get the paperwork started. I asked him to send me an email, and he kept telling me I had to go to his website. He did give me a return phone number of: [protected] and insisted to know when I would call back after I told him I needed to do some research first before I would go any further. I will be reporting this to my Attorney General for the State of Washington also. Naida Bacon

I also got a call and told the guy I didn't have a credit card, so he suggested to me to go to WalMart and get a Visa Card and put $4.00 on it and he would call back on Monday. I think the BBB would like very much to get to know this company, what do you think! I'm glad I found you guys, because I think I may have did this stupid mistake and ended up kicking myself in the a**.

I was contacted today by an indian gentleman who first told me my phone number had been chosen to qualify me for free free government/grant money. After I listened to his pitch I told him I wanted to research it first and could he call later, which he was happy to do. When I asked for their website and he said freemoney.com, which I googled right away and it seemed pretty legit, so when he called back I asked again about the process involved and he said all I needed to do was give him my credit/debit card number and they would only take $3.87 cents, which "was just a small fee, no risk to me and totally free money". He also kept saying "I will be with you through the entire process, if you want to call me 10, 000 times with 10, 000 questions I will be there". I still was very skeptical and I asked for the website again. This time he said it was usfinancialresources.com, but he was talking really fast and asking over and over if I wanted to go ahead and give him my card number. All the while I was quickly researching the new site while he talked and then...shazam! I found them and all kinds of red flags went up. He never mentioned that there was a reoccurring monthly $59.95 charge to your card if you failed to cancel in time (which I had previously asked him about additional charges and he said no - liar!). I asked him to call me back tomorrow so I could get all my information written down and when he calls I am going to tell him I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and posted comments about them everywhere I can because they are thieves! PLEASE ANYONE READING THIS...DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE! I was on the brink of giving my information up, but something kept making me feel very uncomfortable. Remember the old saying ":if it sounds too good to be true...it is!

i had someone call me to try the same scam. i knew when the guy, whatever his name was, told me that i can receive free grant money to get training for a cdl license that it was a lie & all i had to do was to use my cc # for $3.87 to register for this packet. if you dont know, you can always apply for grant money on your own & dont have to pay for the info from any company at all.ill tell anyone that get all the info on the company, then get in touch with them & research before you give out any important info.

Unbelievable. This guy with a Indian accent so thick you could bonce bowling balls on ... kept trying to convince me I should get free government grants. ( that which I supposedly requested or signed up for) I kept telling him I didn't want any and I don't steal from my government and fellow tax payers. It was funny to listen to him trying to find an answer to that on his canned script.. I finally got him to give me the web site address. It was not a surprise when I Binged it up. . This site came up also on the Bing search so I figured I would check it out.

They are out there folks. Watch out.

For a about a month I 've been getting strange call from various phone numbers that used to hang up every time I was picking up the phone. Eventually, today, I received a phone call, and a woman introduces herself as Lei somthing. So, she said she was from US Financial Resources, and said that i qualify for the unlimited grant money. She asked why would I need the money and mentioned that i filled out some grant request info online. She said that ONLY TODAY I have a chance to receive the money and IT IS ONLY TODAY that i need to have MY CREDIT CARD CHARGED! And you know, I almost believed her! I went on google quickly and found out that it is a scam. SO I told her that my Credit Card is not on me, and that I would prefer to make the payment by myself online, but she immediately started asking for my debit cards, or any other card that could pay that $3.87. I said I don;t know I don't have money on me, and than she kept on saying please pay with any other card you have we need that payment. I refused paying to her because I found out that unfortunately many people got caught on that, and I said that I don't have my credit card on me. Please, people, be cautious!

Received the same call today, refused to give my cc info to someone I don't know. Austin "East Indian?" stated "I'm telling you who I am now." OK, I'm really that stupid? Said I would call him back as we were at the store shopping. Googled the company and not to my surprise, SCAM. Sorry to read some here were naive enough to fall for their line.

I receive a phone call from an unusual number the format was [protected]. I picked it up because of this reason. I was informed that I had been awarded the grant that I had applied for and congratulation were extended by the caller.

The man asked if I could understand him and please don't hang up.

The individual calling had a foreign accent so I asked for his name again, though he had mentioned it at the beginning of the call, he told me his name was Paul Smith. Okay this may have been true but in my experience persons with accents have names that go with the accent. Red Flag.

As the call progressed he said I would have to pay $3.87 for the service, strange amount, another Red Flag. I told him I had received a school grant way back when and never had to pay a fee. A grant is free money after all. I also told him this would require me giving him my financial information and I was not going to do that. At this point he began to hem and haw so I said couldn't you come up with a more believable name then Paul Smith maybe Jones would have worked better. He said I don't know what you mean about Jones.

I then told him your company is a fraud, goodbye.

I then put the company in a search and found this page.

I had hoped to apply for a grant to pay for some overdue bills I have due to helping my daughter and grandchildren from becoming homeless. But I must have gone about it the wrong way to receive a call from this company.

Fortunately I know enough about the workings of scams not to have fallen for it-one to the lessons we learned from the scams from Nigeria.

I remember filling out the application and changing my mind as soon as I realized there was a fee to pay (sensing fraud) and shortly after, closing the window before I submitted anything. these thick accent, big time crooks from a company called "US financial resources'' have been calling me ever since (don't ask me how they got my info) non-stop, sometimes 4 times a day... I've politely asked them to erase my info from their system: they gave me a stupid explanation about how that wasn't possible. I've been hung up on as soon as I start telling them I'm not interested. I've hung up on them time and time again hoping to discourage them: to no avail!... Once I even pretended to take the bait and went through with the motions and of course there was a $3.87 one-time fee to "set up an account" and get professional help from a ''grant expert''! Of course I hung up! They called me back a minute afterwards: I ignored the call. THEY CALLED BACK AGAIN: AT WHICH POINT I PICKED UP, CURSED THEM OUT AND HUNG UP! I'm sure I'm going to get a call tomorrow from my benefactors "David" or "Dave". Like all of you I was told that it was a one time offer, for as much money as i wanted... the usual BS... Do not fall for this people! Anytime you are asked to pay first in order to get your reward, just know that it's a scam!

I just received a call from someone with an Indian accent didn't specify his name nor where he was calling from and said I was approved for a government grant. When I asked him where was he calling from and the name of the company he said US Financial Resources. Then I asked him how much money was I approved for, he told me 2, 500; then I asked him how did he get my information and what information did he have? He said he had my email address and my city and state but not my home address. I asked him to give me a telephone number where I could reach him and he game me a telephone number with 2 extra digits and he said them in a different sequence like four numbers at a time. I then did the internet search and found this site with all the complaints. Thank you and thanks to my gut feeling not to have given him any information.

How interesting, I checked the box for grants expecting an e-mail with additional information, within 3 minuets I received a call from a young man from the India region.
Now I can get into some real nasty stereotypes here but I am not going to wast my time or yours. So the conversation went for about 5 minutes and the only coherent words I could get was his name, a wrong zip code, and a quick payment for 3.83 the magic number we all seem to be exposed to. Anyway I could hear the boiler room tension in the background, and as he kept ranting "you want grant, give me number only one time charge of 3.83 I tried to tell this dude " hey It's not the 3.83 I am worried about, it the point that you will have access to my account and all I know is your a voice on the other end of the line" just give me number and we only charge 3.83, I stated that I have worked with the government before and The one thing I know is Our Gov. ain't fast. And he still wanted the number of card so he can get 3.83 I am not a racist or anything near that realm of negativity. I just couldn't understand that he needed 3.83 to give me a confirmation number. All in all I knew it was a scam however this dudes English was so bad that I could only pick out a few words., 3.83, and confirmation number on computer. After that 5 min. Conversation I realized he probably would not understand my British humor and the fun I could have had. Now days with the internet being such a con game, the best game in town is to play with the minds of the idiots on the other end of the phone. Nuffe said!
I need to know what is so symbolic about 3.83, any hints out there?

They called my husband two days later. using a 222 number. they spoke like they were from india.
