I recently visited the secrets resort in puerto vallarta. While doing the time share presentation we had our reservations about joining uvc, but the sales associate showed us the benefits of rci and that we would be getting 4 free weeks at just the exchange fee of $249, plus 1 free week at zoetry (a top notch am resort) with our membership. We looked through the rci website and saw some pretty great resorts, what they didn't tell us was that our free weeks could only be used at maybe 1/3 of those, all of which of course are crappy. The 249 "exchange fee" does not include additional resort fees, that almost all the resorts charge so the cost ends up being almost what you would pay anyways! After finding this out I then called and questioned about my "free zoetry week" only to find out that when I did test it by booking of a random week to see what I would be charged, it came out to $3k! My free week that I would earn after I paid my balance would cost me 3k lol! Literally every part of this membership that sold me was a complete lie! The worst part was that we put 2k down that we were planning on using for our family vacation 6 weeks later, and the resort we had planned on staying at was on the rci website. So we got sold on the "hey put the 2k down and you can use one of your weeks!' well our weeks were not deposited in time to use, and even when it was finally put into our account to use, the final cost if we had was still 1k! Not the 249 exchange. We got totally used all the way around. I cried for days after this. I don't know if they understand how terrible this is for people on a limited budget who plan for these vacations and save for them, to then use it against someone like they will save money and get what they actually promise in their presentations. I'm planning on putting a class action lawsuit against them if anyone would like to join please let me know!

Unlimited Vacation Club is a complete fraud. Our experiences with them on our trip promised a guaranteed locked in price, value like you could not believe. Even our cruise credits that we got from the package through U lifestyle wasn't as they had proposed it would be. They gave us 1500$ for the first two years towards cruises which was stated that they could be cashed out for a single cruise. This was a complete lie, U lifestyle told me we could only use 400$ of the 1500$ for the cruise leaving it at a whopping 3100$ left to pay out of pocket(dollars in American and not including flights). The pricing is literally no better than going to a travel agent.

Extremely unsatisfied and if a suit comes out of this I would gladly go into it. 14000$ into it and just found out its complete BS.

Yours truly, yet another unsatisfied customer.

Justin Winter.

PS I'd love my money back.

We have been taken big time by this company. We feel trapped and could have paid for 10 vacations with the money we have paid I to this useless “club”. I’m in for any class action suit.

I would very much like to join the class action lawsuit against UVC. Here is one of many email response my wife and I have sent UVC. They are legal scammers, and they need to be stopped.

We have been dealing with Alexander Escalante in the Members Quality Assurance. Here is a response from him.

While I respect your opinion in regards to UVC, the is fully aware of the comments referenced in your message and as with any other company, many of those comments come from competitors, those experiencing buyer’s remorse, or even those who elected to sign an agreement without fully understanding the terms and conditions. Each case is treated individually as the circumstances must be reviewed internally to provide the most accurate approach to resolution. Often times, these comments are a simple attempt at damaging the good name and reputation of UVC, with the intent to circumvent agreed upon terms and conditions in the commentor’s favor.

It is unfortunate to encounter individuals such as yourself who, during our communication, have displayed a severe lack of legal knowledge, which has hindered our ability to engage in a constructive conversation and reach a potential resolution.

I understand that you may need repeated clarification on this matter as you continue to insist on the same issue, despite having been provided with this information multiple times. To address the cancellation of your membership, please refer to ARTICLE FIFTEENTH. EARLY TERMINATION. Which stipulates that UVC will be entitled to compensation that is equal to the 50% of the total price set on the cover page. Legally speaking, this will be the only way to end the contractual agreement with the club

In the event that you decide to dispute the charges, UVC will promptly respond by providing a copy of the executed agreement. This will serve as evidence of the legitimacy and enforceability of our contract. If the dispute is resolved in favor of UVC, you will be held accountable for the financial obligations outlined in the contract.

We suggest that you reconsider your position and we look forward to your final response:

• Make the payment to proceed with the early termination.

• Continue with your monthly payments until you reach 50% to reevaluate the situation later.

If you choose option 2 please reply to this email with: I will continue with my payments as they are.

Without further ado, kind regards!

Break…

My wife’s response……

These comments are not from competitors.. They are from people like us who were tricked into signing a contract that they were not fully informed about. That's not "buyer's remorse," that's fraud. We were taken advantage of, bribed by a free spa service, given alcohol while we were supposed to be learning about the offer, and deceived by salespeople who withheld information for their own financial gain. We asked for time to think about it, and they said our offer would expire in the morning. Nobody ever told us we were unable to cancel after 5 days. Nobody explained the cancellation policy as they were legally obligated to. Nobody gave us a printed copy of the contract. They had us electronically sign a few pages, and then sent us a 50 page PDF to our cell phones. We trusted that all information was provided to us, we did not spend the rest of our vacation reviewing the contract from our cellphones, and by the time we got home from vacation our 5-day cancellation period was over anyway. Nobody helped us set up our account and we did not use it once.

We do not need repeated clarification, and our "lack of legal knowledge" has not hindered our ability to have a constructive conversation. You have not offered us any potential resolution other than the choice to pay now or pay later. That is not acceptable to us. The wording in the contract is extremely misleading and we are unhappy. Article 15 says that we have 5 days to cancel for a full refund, and it says that the mediator is entitled to 50% IF WE DEFAULT ON ANY PAYMENT OBLIGATION. Nothing here says that we are obligated to pay 50% of the contract in order to cancel it. But you not canceling the contract is forcing us to default on payment, unless we keep paying.

Your condescending words are extremely unprofessional for a "members quality assurance" specialist. I suggest that your team is more persistent with helping members get their account set up and offering assistance to utilize the benefits, rather than the persistence in collecting our money when we ask for help. If you are looking to have a constructive conversation then please offer another solution that does not involve us continue to give you money for something that we have never used.

Regards,

Break….

I would help pay to have this company terminated.

Add me to the class action lawsuits please.

Please add me to the lawsuit. Further, contact at lia@allego.io

We were given misinformation, therefore contract fraud. Not to mention, we haven't even gone to a resort, but they lied about other travel benefits. Evelyn (apparently the only person in UVC who can provide cancellation information re-cancellation) called to tell us we can end the contract for 50% of the total cost. The tens of thousands of dollars paid for impression membership to date and it was our issue to go to court in Panama.

HI

I am from Illinois and would be very interested in supporting a class action lawsuit. I was sold a product/service under false pretense, I was told the "free week: was available for immediate use and would waive the black out dates in exchange for singing up with them. Long story short, I just got off the line with Fabiola Enriquez Fenriquez@unlimitedvc.com from the member quality assurance department and she indeed gloated about being protected by the laws of Panama for a company doing business in Mexico and owned by Hyatt which holds head quarters in Chicago. She referred me to her legal team as she claimed she didn't have a superior or manager above her. Arbitrationmanager@unlimitedvc.com. I was told to be released from the contract they would need 50% of the value of the contract to be released. So imagine if you fell for their 100k, 50k, 25k, package, then you would owe them 50% of those amounts. These people scam you into buying something that is not true and then charge you extra just to be released. When you call them out on their unethical practices and lies they get very defensive and threaten you with credit agencies going after you credit.

If any one does have an active lawsuit or in the works of creating one I would like to speak to you as this practice will continue until someone does anything about it. I do have her on recording specifically saying that they did offer the free week before but then took it away as people caught on to their games.

Our 10th Anniversary was absolutely miserable. My husband and I love Zoetry and since we’ve stayed at the Jamaican resort twice, Dominican Republic once and the Mexico resort once, we assumed that the St Lucia Zoetry was in the same league. For me, it is necessary to have a level of comfort due to my physical limitations. Although successful in removing a tumor from the base stem of my brain, I battle with balance and autoimmune issues.

* Fact 1: Upon arrival, our room was a Motel 6 type room even though we asked for a suite. After discussing plans to leave with our UVC contact, Zoe, a suite was “found”. Images on the resort website use the same pictures for all regular rooms and “Image Coming Soon” for all suites.

* Fact 2: Before arrival, our UVC contact requested dietary restrictions from us. These restrictions are medical and not just desires. None of our requests were honored and I’m still dealing with the fallout from eating certain foods. Each restaurant had 3-4 choices of a category and each food item fell into the same category. Example: For Starters, the choices were Tuna Tartare, Steak Tartare, Octopus, or a Salad. To make matters worse, the menu never changed, the preparation wasn’t healthy, the staff wasn’t knowledgeable on ingredients and pushed back on any requested deviations. For example: it was requested to have a cheeseburger on lettuce instead of a gluten bun. The waitress didn’t want the change and stated she’d have to ask the chef it could be done.

* Fact 3: The hotel staff wasn’t knowledgeable on resort items and gave incorrect information. We are not a stickler with money on vacation but my husband was told that gratuity was included in our island tour by a resort staffer. The actual driver stated it was not included. This trend continued during the week on multiple subjects.

* Opinion: Some staff were nice. Others were not or it was forced. As a business owner with staff, I could tell the “nice” wasn’t genuine. If I treated our clients like the staff treated us, we would have a folded business.

* Fact 4: The now read reviews online are similar to ours. Because it was a Zoetry resort, we didn’t read them ahead of time.

* Opinion: The good reviews are either made up, very old, or the person did not stay a long period.

* Fact 5: I have stayed at “Wellness and Luxury” resorts before. This is neither. I do understand transition in business but what we experienced goes far beyond it.

* Fact 6: Restocking of our room was sporadic unless you requested it. You must ask multiple people, multiple times in order to get anything done or received. Our room was “cleaned” by making the bed only and not every day.

* Fact 7: 24 hour Room service normally takes about 30 minutes. If food was ordered via phone, you were told about 15-20 minutes but the wait time was more like 1 1/2 hours or more.

* Fact 8: The resort is old and not “New” as it’s described on the website. It may be “new” under Zoetry rebranding but it is not a new resort. (See pics attached).

* Fact 9: Ants and mosquitos were always in our room.

* Fact 10: For anyone with a disability, there is nothing in place to accommodate special needs or any type of statement on the website which would alert travelers. Besides a golf cart that may take you to your room upon request, this area is severely lacking. A more educationally informed staff would allow anyone with my type of disability to choose another resort. My husband was concerned about me being able to get around, and specifically called/emailed our UVC contact at least 3-4 times. Later, our UVC contact admitted that she didn’t really understand the limitations of a disabled person. I paid a hefty price for her lack of education. My flares caused by food/and or conditions, will last 2-4 weeks. As of this writing, I’m in week 2.

* Fact 11: There were no vendors, after dinner resort entertainment, or things to do as we found at other resorts.

* Fact 12: The ferry ride to the beach was barely stable. In reality, the ferry ride was a very old, dirty and near sunken fishing boat. The beach was a corner piece of land that was trash filled, and full of cigarettes.

* Fact 13: The resort pictures on the internet are photoshopped, altered, or airbrushed. What I saw in real life and what is pictured are vastly different.

* Fact 14: We cut our trip short and left early. We will never return and there is a bitter taste in my mouth when asked about my anniversary trip.

This board posted that my issue was resolved. Not true. The “approved” refund worth 2 days has still not been received and I replied to UVC stating such.

I have contacted a travel attorney. Anyone that is interested in joining a class action lawsuit, my email is cwhite@jawhite.com. For right now, the email should contain your legal name(s), date event occurred, and email contact info. I will make a master list and keep everyone informed as to next steps.

For discovery, the attorney will ask for any documents, pictures, correspondence and the agreement. I ask that you have those ready to send upon attorney request.

After reading the plethora of posts, the common thread is Scam. I’ve always told my children that sometimes you have to stand up for the people behind you that didn’t speak up and for those in front of you that won’t.

I hope this is the right site. We recently went to Mexico and we sat through a presentation at Hilton and were made promises of free weeks and cheaper vacations. Well we got home after we signed up for this and I had a chance to go over the paperwork in full detail only to find that even though I was told that there would be no other fees besides the ones they talked about that we would have to pay another 1400 per person to use the fly back feature they told us we would get INCLUDED in our package (it was not). This is where all our flights to the playa collection resorts we took would be refunded up to $500 each. But when I called and asked why they told us it was INCLUDED but now I see it isn’t I was just told sorry nothing we will do about that you need to pay it. Also looking at the hotels we can use our exchange weeks at there are fees that get attached to the price that were not told to us during our conversation with them! I also asked them what would happen if we had to or wanted to cancel and we were told that was no problem you could cancel whenever you wanted. Well again another lie! We had 3 days to cancel! So of course that passed cuz we were on vacation during that period. And they make you do the presentation the day after you get there most likely to make sure when they talk you into signing up they know you’re not gonna look at anything until you get back home. Now we are stuck in this contract and we want out! Is this possible?

The same thing happened to my girlfriend and I. We visited Huatulco, Mexico for a wedding and at the airport were approached by a man that asked if we would be interested in saving money on our stay, our car rentals, and tours. Obviously, we said "yes" because he looked very official operating inside the airport freely near the baggage area. As this was our first time visiting Mexico since childhood, we assumed that he was part of the airline staff or a legit partner and that it would be safe to deal with him. He asked if we were married and we said "NO" and he said that it wasn't a big deal, but in order to help HIM out (as he had been hit hard by the pandemic in the previous years) he needed married couples, so he asked to check yes, saying it wasn't a necessity but married couples were preferred as this was an offer designed for 2 people. After he convinced us and reassured us that we would not get into any trouble, he got us a discount on a car rental and told us to meet him in a few days at Dreams for a no-obligation pitch. Again, reminding us to tell them that we are married so he wouldn't lose out on much need support for his family who had recently incurred a death due to the pandemic. When we arrived we got the whole VIP treatment, drinks, a free breakfast on the beach, and an awesome tour of the beautiful resort. This time we were accompanied by a man named Alberto who was very polished, well-spoken in English and Spanish, and who shared a lot of his personal travels with us. He went as far as to show us pictures of his wife and kids hiking in hiking in Argentina and talked about God and the importance of family. We mentioned to him that we weren't married and he said that as long we planned to marry it was all good. He actually put me on the spot complementing my GF saying "what was I waiting for with such a beautiful woman", and talking to us about how beautiful a destination wedding would be at one of the Dreams resorts. He pumped it up by saying we could get unlimited rooms for prices as low as $750 and in some cases even for $250 with free flights and free all-inclusive deals. Needless to say, he and UVC created the perfect con and took advantage of us as a young couple. I was so sure of his geniality that I invited him to visit us with his family as he was a sports fan of where I live. Now a year later, every question we asked him and every explanation we were given turns out to be a lie. We've tried explaining to customer service that we were told and given promises by Alberto and his manager (an older weasel-looking guy) that are now not being honored. All they say is that we have to keep paying until 50% of our agreed contract is paid or that we can try and find someone who will take over the membership. We have explained to them that it isn't what we were told and have gotten the response that they can't speak to it as they didn't witness the pitch. There are several sites giving cancelation information but all say the same thing, after 5 days you are stuck paying 50% of your contract. Worst, literally hundreds of members just like us have been conned out of thousands of dollars. The overall answer that I see is to stop paying, cancel your payment card (debit or credit) and inform your bank to stop all payments. They don't have your social so they have no way of putting it on your credit, all they can do is threaten you. So far people have gone for years saying that it's never popped up on a credit report. One thing, you will lose your initial investment and deposit along with any payments you've made. Hope this helps!

I also feel scammed. I was told I would get Platinum package at Silver price. I have documents and pictures of what I paid for, but when I call to inquire about using my 3-4 weeks of free nights, I am told I only get 1 week. Also, some of the properties we wanted to stay at are no longer a part of Unlimited.

I would rather pay an attorney to fight this than continue paying them for false advertising and deceptive practices. Has anyone retailed legal counsel to go after them?

Respectful,

Ricky

Im not sur if this is the right site, but I bought a 30 week Bahia Principe membership in 2019. Due to covid, I just tried to use it for the first time since purchase. I was told the rates would go to $250 a week per person (for all inclusive) since I bought a and paid $15,000 dollars for the 30 week vacation package. Today I learned the rates were now fluctuating and increasing each year, so to return to the same location is $148.00 PER PERSON/PER NIGHHT. So my room there would be $1998 for me and my wife. I get nothing for the $15,000. Im a victim of fraud!

I too am trying to file a suit. We were told untrue information at the Sales presentation as well. We tried to work with the company with no luck. Would it be better to join in on the one lawsuit or file continue to file my own.

Wondering if this lawsuit is moving forward.. UVC literally stole 10 000 US dollars from us. I have proof on paper and tried for months to have the issue resolved. We were offered free renewal fees for 1 year (worth 299!) if we signed off on the fight for our money.

They are thieves and liars and I warn all to be very weary of any offer or upgrades recieved from UVC.

Hello Asha, has the lawsuit moved forward, if so I would like more information on how to join in. UVC is totally a scam and promises things that aren't real. Please let me know next steps. Thanks.

I am attempting to book my "free week" at the discounted price of $3700.00. Unl8mited Vacations and my idea of "free" are completely different.
