On May 4, 2026 TransUnion credit reporting agency unlocked my credit account for someone who was not me and who had called their customers support line pretending to be me. I was never notified by TransUnion that my account was unlocked, even though TransUnion had my email address and cell phone number to text me. As a result, on May 5, 2026 a criminal actor secured a $58, 613.10 loan with Security Federal Credit Union (San Antonio, Tx) to purchase as 2025 Dodge Ram from Price Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (Price, Utah). This all occurred due to TransUnion's gross negligence with my account and their failure to notify me. I have called TransUnion several times regarding this and they don't seem to care about my situation or any interest in changing any of their policies, therefore this could happen again to anyone due to TransUnion's continuing gross negligence with customer accounts. I am proceeding with filing a police report locally, but this would of all been avoidable if TransUnion would of protected my information in a more responsible manner. I feel this is a criminal action on TransUnion's part due to their negligence and mishandling of my account, as well as their failure to notify me. In addition, I feel TransUnion assisted and is equally responsible in this thief by unlocking my account without my knowledge. I have a screen capture from TransUnion's website showing the hard inquiries on May 4, 2026 for the Security Federal Credit Union and Price Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Also when I called TransUnion and spoke to Fieona on May 18, 2026 TransUnion had a record of someone calling in on May 4, 2026 requesting to unlock my account.
