Equifax Information Services My score to be accurate

I have built my credit score in to the 820s. I keep a check using Credit Karma. they use TransUnion and Equifax to provide the latest scores and to show accuracy, or that's what I thought. I use a CC American Airlines for my business travle to gain miles and had paid it down by ~ $1600, I had available balance left on the card of $28, 500 of $30,000. The only hit on my accoounts was paying that down. The Transunion score went up by 3 points but the Equifax dropped my score from 815 to 789 a total of -26 points. I tried to go on Equifax website through their dispute process which does not give you an adequate option. I called in and finally hit the right combination to get an agent. The agent told me that I couldn't dispute my score. So I asked her " are you saying that there is no way Equifax can be wrong. she didn't have an answer. I asked her if she could tell me why paying down my card would drop my score by -26 and she told me that closing a card lowered your overall credit. I told her I new that but I hadn't closed my card account. Then she told me that my balance was too high on the card and gave me some number that my limit was $6000. I pulled up on-line and read off my total and available balance. I asked her again how I need to get that corrected and she said I couldn't.

So right now my score with TU is showing 824 and Equifax is showing 798. all the descriptions for accounts and transactions are the same. They both used to run within a point or two of each other and at the time of single event they were identical. TU went up by +3 points and Equifax went down by -26.

With everthing so critical and every business looking at ways to increase interest rates there should be some means to keep these credit report companies in check. I understand mistakes can be made, but credit scores take a while to build and can be lost in just a few wrong transactions or misinformation.

Equifax Information Services Poorly organized, mismanaged, totally detached from any accountability

My credit score is well over 800 which is excellent yet I applied for a new credit card and got refused. When I called the company, they explained that it was due to the information Equifax sent them. When I contacted Equifax, they blame the banks for all the information on my file. I called every bank that I deal with and they all had the right information in their file. Since I clearly couldn't see or understand what they had on my file, I was forced to pay $20/month to get visibility on my own personal information (which was litterly forced, they wouldn't give me any information unless I paid this fee). Upon accessing this information I noted that Equifax has the wrong home address and wrong job title and they had a hold on credit note in my credit. When I asked them to change it, they asked me to fill out a form with personal documents and send it, which I did. Each time I call to follow up, they don't seem to have proper record keeping of my problems, the ticket numbers they provide seem to be disorganised. Their customer service is in remote countries and when I ask to escalate, they have no one responsible for managing the department. This company is a money grabbing scam, they are reckless, destructive & not accountable for any of wrong information they are disseminating and they make no effort to verify what they send. It's shamful that they are allowed to force people to pay them to correct misinformation they are sending. Furthermore, their customer service is beyond horrendous, they are totally inept. The best comparision I can make is Equifax is the equivalent of paying a robber to rob you. I've already spent at least 5 hours and money to correct someone else's mistake, and still no results. Shame on Canada for allowing this organizing to function without any impunity. What is the recourse for consumers? where is the consumer watchdog?

Desired outcome: Would like to simply resolve/correct my personal profile, the information on their system is wrong. My credit rating on their system is outstanding!

Equifax Information Services Reported inaccurate information and put it back on my credit

I have disputed wrong information on my credit report from credit acceptance for the last two years . Equifax finally removed this information from my credit report . Then credit acceptance request it be put back on . Equifax put the same inaccurate information back on my credit report. Not even caring about the damage it was doing . I called and requested it be removed and was denied. Equifax continues to report inaccurate information and then I disputed it then and only then do they update or change that information with the information I provided but by then it’s too late my credit is damaged and then Equifax dings my credit 158 points

Desired outcome: Remove asap from credit report. Put credit points back , and compensate me for losing a home in escrow.

Equifax Information Services Equifax

My mother used Equifax to clear her credit. She sent in everything and, this went on for at least a year. Equifax just gave my mother the runaround. My mother requested more information about them and sent in her information they needed Equifax mailed back and said they needed more information from her. This took about four months. She called them again and said they're still working on it. They finally wrote back stating that her credit was good. Equifax wrote back in April 2022. Waited awhile to apply for a credit card and still couldn't get one. They didn't do a thing to fix her bad credit. She is very disappointed about this.

Desired outcome: This was a free service.I think people should know about it.

Equifax Information Services Equifax credit reporting

In the past 5 years my credit score has not moved despite never missing my payments to creditors. The difference in my score between Equifax and other credit reporting is hugh, over 100 points difference. The scoring gap is so noticeable that my financial institution has commented about it to me. They have told me that I should let them know. In 2018 I called them about it and was given a story so confusing that I had to bang my head against the wall. I February of 2022 I sent another notice in writing but they never got back to me. This has been a very frustrating experience.

Desired outcome: I wish my credit score with Equifax adjusted to match the other reporting agencies as there is a huge difference in reporting scores.

Equifax Information Services Credit report

My name is Kennedy White, my birthday is August 17th, 1998.

My bank shows poor credit score, for no reason.

My file on equifax (File number [protected]) shows poor credit score due to "0% utilization".

My credit report does NOT list any of my credit cards or banking information even after filing dispute forms.

Equifax also shows a loan in my file from "Spring Financial" with an account number ending in 583 and a phone number that is NOT mine [protected]).

With all this in play, I'm not able to get a loan, or new credit cards, and I cant apply to rent an apartment due to poor credit report.

Desired outcome: Correct my credit information on Equifax file. Remove loan "Spring Financial" off my file. Update man accurate credit score and report.

Equifax Information Services Equifax Complete Premier

In early October 2021, I received a letter from Transamerica telling me that they'd experienced data breach but that I was eligible for 24 months' service from Equifax and that I needed to activate the the service by December 31, 2021.
They provided an activation code for the service ("Equifax Complete Premier").
The code did not work. I waited a few days, then weeks. Code still didn't work.
I called Transamerica (since the data breach was their fault). They said call Equifax.
After several calls to Equifax with no resolution, case number [protected] was opened on December 3, 2021 when I was told that the problem is because I already had an Equifax service, and that I couldn't have more than one at the same time. Later that day, my existing Equifax service was cancelled without warning.
December 10, 2021 - I called and was told that my problem had been escalated to the "highest level", ie "level 3" and would be resolved by Wednesday (12/15). I pointed out that I needed to activate the service by 12/31 but was told this would not be an issue.
December 15, 2021. Problem is not solved.
January 3, 2022 - When I try to activate the code, I'm now told that it's expired.
January 5, 2020 - I call + am told that resolution of problem is "still pending". The call is dropped without warning.

Each call requires a minimum of 30 minutes of wading through phone trees, providing verification, educating the agent on the problem history. On occasion, I've been on calls for over an hour.

I now have no service, so I'm worse off than I was in October 2021.

Equifax refers to this is as "your problem", but I wasn't responsible for Transamerica's data breach, nor Equifax's inability to activate the service (that Transamerica is presumably paying them for).

Desired outcome: Please, just activate the service. The problem was supposed to have been caused by my having an existing service. Now that my previous service has been cancelled, it should be fixed, right ?

Equifax Information Services Credit Reporting Study

Since I am a scientist, I would have been willing to participate in a legitimate research study. This is nothing more than a blatant marketing ploy by Equifax to get customers and market their and their partner companies' products. I am very disappointed in Equifax as well as Oliver Wyman for this deception. This behavior damages the reputation of Equifax as well as Oliver Wyman. The steps during the study enrollment needs to not include enrolling in the monitoring program and also not include release of participant information to partners. Please make this an actual research study rather than a marketing ploy.

Desired outcome: Change the enrollment steps or notify potential participants that this is also a marketing activity

Equifax Information Services Collection

I want to file a complaint with Equifax because there are 2 Collections on my Credit Report that has been paid in full about a month ago and it is still showing on my Credit. I have spoken to various Representatives and have not gotten a resolution on it. I have also called the Collection Agency and they have reported to all 3 credit bureaus that the account has been pain. The only Credit Bureau showing unpaid is Equifax the other 2 Transunion and Experian already took care of the collections. What can I do to have this resolved.

Equifax Information Services Credit reports

We have been in the process of applying to refinance the mortgage on our residence since October, 2020. We were required to get our credit reports unfrozen. Within an hour on November 22, I was able to unfreeze Experian and Transunion, but when it came to Equifax, it was another matter.

I have no difficulty logging onto the Equifax site and over the ensuing three months - around 100 times - was greeted with this message.

So I called this number. The telephone is an automated attendant that does not provide a menu option for reaching a human attendant. It takes over five minutes to listen to the menus. The information given is garbage - useless and incorrect.

Because I have a phone that records a transcript of calls, I have a record of what I heard on this number.

Among the false information are email addresses that are returned as undeliverable: online@myechofax.com or online@mycarfax.com. Here is one of the kind of returns:

I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Fraud Protection Bureau.

G. Edward Livous replied on the Better Business Bureau site

RE: Paul & Sarah Edwards, Case #27789351

Dear G. Edward Livous:

Thank you for submitting Paul & Sarah Edwards's complaint on 1/8/2021 through the BBB Complaint Portal. In their complaint, they indicated that they are unable to unfreeze their credit files.

The identification information the consumer provided does not match our records. In order to properly assist them, we will need additional information in order to verify their identification and current address. Please provide a legible photocopy of a valid document that shows your name, current address and complete social security number. Listed below are examples of documents that may be provided as verification of their identification and current address: Current pay stub or W2 with complete U.S. social security number, valid social security card, Driver's license, rental/lease agreement/house deed, mortgage or bank statement, utility bill for gas, cable or residential telephone bill.

If they have any additional questions, they may call (888) 836-6351

Note: This acknowledges receipt of information I had both faxed and sent by certified mail.
Our identity information has not changed in over two years, when we moved to home four blocks from our former residence but kept our phone number. More importantly, we had gotten a credit freeze processed in November by Equifax. I have a post card acknowledgement of this.

Finally, I received a call on January 14 from someone identifying himself as being with Equifax. The number he called from was 888-298-0045. He asked me if I had sent a certified letter, which I had, and I gave him the date. The caller gave me another phone number to call 857-210 3425.

This number told me the information I provided does not match their records. I tried calling back the 888-298-0045 and was told this number dealt with CLASS ACTIONS. I got another number 833 759 8982 which turns out to be a Kia dealership. Another site I was given on the phone was online@myfax.com. This company is not owned by Equifax and there appears.

Another number I got was 888-829-8005. I spoke to a Linda Matt
Aquafax is a marine wholesale company, selling to the trade only.

I again faxed the information Mr. Livous specified using this fax number 888-298-0045 sent on January 14. I had previously faxed information on December 22, 2020 to this number.

I found the following on Google:
When you log in at myEquifax.com, there is a tile on the upper right of the dashboard that indicates your freeze status. If you don't have an account, or simply would rather use the phone, call 800-349-9960 and follow the prompts to verify your identity. If your credit report is not frozen, you will only hear options for freezing it.

There is no such tile in the upper right of the Equifax site.

My request is simple: Unfreeze my wife and my credit reports.

Desired outcome: Unfreeze credit reports

Equifax Information Services customer service, credit review, entire company,

Horrible, unbelievably poor customer service, unjust practices, place holds on soc. Numbers with no reason or justification, made it impossible to move into a new apartment because they wouldn't let us open an account with the electric company bc we had no proof of address, we had no proof of address bc apt wouldn't give it to us w out proof we had the electric set up.
We had no problems with credit, no history of delinquency or anything of the kind. They could give us no explanation for why they locked the social security number and the only way they would remove it is if we sent it by paper mail like it was 1875. As if no one would ever need access to their own apartment they had already paid for earlier than 8-10 business days out. Thanks for your direct contribution to the homelessness epidemic in america.

Equifax Information Services lifelock credit run from equifax

My wife Laura signed us both up for Lifelock after several thefts from our bank accts. Hers is the basic program, mine is the ultimate. I am supposed to get 3 credit reports, starting with Equifax. You have never processed my credit report.I have made numerous calls but never get a person to speak to, and your phone tree does not address my problem. I'm not sure I know what the problem is. Lifelock hinted that it could be an address issue. I have a residence of 1550 Eastmont Ave, East Wenatchee, WA, and a mailing address of PO Box 1761, Wenatchee, WA 98807 My wife Laura was able to get her 1 credit report run, but I have not. Lifelock refuses to help me, says it is an Equifax problem. I call Equifax, and I never get anything but a machine. I have a copy of a recent electric bill, which won't download, which shows both addresses. Please advise. I am very frustrated. I spent my entire day off on Monday trying to get through to a person. My next step would be file a complaint with the BBB. Michael Ruane [protected] [protected]@gmail.com

Equifax Information Services customer service re equifax dispute results at 877-784-2528

I received a confirmation for my online dispute on my credit report stating results have been completed. I have been trying since 4/17/19 to get these results online but after I put in all my personal information it pops up currently service is unavailable. I chatted with Roberto E and Nemer S and they both said technical difficulties. Told me to call 877-784-2528 to request the status report. I called twice today and answered all questions. I spokt to Yanni at 2:30 pm today. I answered all the questions and she said she could not provide me the report either. I asker her why and she said I would have to write to Equifax. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said no, and said have a good day and hung up. Very rude and non caring people that work for Equifax. I would like to have my status report now and need to find how how. Thank you.

Equifax Information Services customer service/not addressing complaint

equifax is a fraud, first I was routed out of this country, secondly after giving them all personal information we are instructed not to give out they couldnt address my concerns of fraud, and after 3 attempts and 2 supervisors I was cut off, they say hey monitor these calls, they obviously dont. Best guess the people committing credit card fraud and theft are hand in hand with equifax. This company needs to be exposed and investigated by the goverment.

Equifax Information Services unauthorized address change/horrible customer support

I don't know about this page. I wonder if Equifax gives a crap about it, but let's try:

I would like to ask if there is a way to send an official complaint against Equifax for terrible customer service and incorrect recording of my information.

I have tried calling multiple times and their phones lines are awful, one cannot be on speaker for example and hear them. They ask ALL personal information over the phone before even looking at the account, including SIN. I know for a fact there are other ways to verify someones info, I have done it through Transunion.

And after all that (mind you, I have about 4-5 tries and 3 attempts to actually get this done), the information keeps changing to the incorrect data. And they blame it on one of my creditors without telling me who so I can correct it. And I know for a fact it's not one of my creditors, I don't have many, pretty easy to keep track and I would know if I gave them an address I never lived at.

I have sent the change of info document by mail twice to correct my address. They change it, then a week later it changes back to the wrong info. Transunion corrected it and that was it.

I dont understand what is happening. I do not have many creditors and they all have my correct address. Even more, the address that they keep posting, was NEVER mine. It's down the street from where I live now

Equifax Information Services unethical behavior

For the past 12 months I have faithfully watched my credit scores fluctuate up and down. I paid off all creditors April 2017. My score, slowly rose to a 670. I unfortunately lost my job and was forced to file bankruptcy. My score dropped again to a 656 until Feb. 3, 2018 when it dropped to a 564. I have not attempted to obtain credit from anyone up until today. I have not attempted to do anything regarding my credit. My loan with Fed Loan Servicing was given a year deferment two months ago. Still I have not applied for anything or done anything concerning credit. My score dropped 59 points suddenly. It seems that no matter what I do, Equifax companies continuously do as it pleases concerning my credit score. In addition, I have been one of the many individuals that have been apart of your failure to protect my information. I want my credit score refurbished back to a 670. I have worked hard and refrained from being in debt to anyone for anything. This seems to be a another practice against Black Americans to establish, maintain, and grow in economics. There is no way you can explain how one incident dropped my score more than 100 points over a course of a year!

Equifax Information Services gross incompetence in the handling of personal information

On December 10th, 2017 I learned through Credit Karma that one of my credit cards had fraudulent charges on it, even though the card had been, and still is in my possession. I immediately notified and filed disputes with the credit card company, Equifax, Trans Union, and the FTC. Upon completing their investigation, the credit card company established that the charges were in fact fraudulent and issued a credit for the entire amount. They deactivated the card, and issued a replacement card. Shortly afterwards, Trans Union and Equifax removed the fraudulent charges from my report, and corrected my credit score. A week later, I went back on Credit Karma, and saw that ONLY Equifax had reapplied the Fraudulent charges back onto the replacement card, and dropped my score again. When I called Equifax, They told me that I now needed to file another dispute with them on the replacement card, and I did feeling totally frustrated. Once again, the charges eventually disappeared, and my credit score was once again corrected. Today, 03/16/18 I checked Credit Karma again, to find that Equifax had not only put the Fraudulent charges back on my report, but had also put charges back on another card that I had already payed off, and that they had previously had down as a zero balance. Once again I called them, and was told to file yet two more disputes. Ironically, after their infamous data breach in 2017, I was advised that I was among the millions whose personal information had been compromised. This has been an agonizing experience dealing with this one particular agency, and it is continuing to get worse.

This issue with Equifax is now beyond the third month, and nothing has happened to correct the information, despite all of the disputes that they have me filing. Ironically, they may very well be responsible for creating this entire mess with their data breach.
