Tinder review: Tinder deal breaker protection is a marketing lie - beware

Paid for safety. Got nothing.
I subscribed to Tinder Gold specifically for the Dealbreaker filter — a paid feature marketed as a hard limit on distance and age. I set 27km and age 42-55. Both toggles active. Tinder matched me with someone 7,842km away and decades outside my range. That match cost me my life savings to romance fraud.
The moment I complained, the out-of-range matching stopped completely. They quietly fixed their own defect — no disclosure, no apology, no compensation. The scammer's account I formally reported was deleted with no history retained.
I have been in correspondence with Match Group's legal department for over three years. Their position: not our problem.
They sell safety features they cannot guarantee. When those features fail and you lose everything, they run. Do not trust paid safety features on this platform. They are not guaranteed. They are not monitored. And when they fail, you are on your own.
