Poor Customer Service and Warranty
I purchased 4 Korean spruce trees. Within a few weeks, one began to look weak. I gave it some more water and added more fertilizer to the ring of the tree. The tree died. I contacted customer service 36 days after the trees were delivered and explained, "The tree began dying a couple of weeks ago, but I hoped it would make it. It did not while the other three planted next to this one in a row have all survived. So, the tree did not make it 30 days, but my email was past 30 days…since the 30-day warranty applies to a tree and not an email, I think it was within the 30-day period." However, Kallie T. from thetreecenter.com, replied: "Unfortunately, we were not notified within the thirty day period as required by our policy. Given that we were not notified within the covered period, we are unable to replace the plant. Please let me know if you're interested in the coupon code previously offered." NOT HELPFUL - NOT A WARRANTY AT ALL! DO NOT PURCHASE HERE - EXPECT NO WARRANTY AND NO SUPPORT!
Recommendation: Do not buy from thetreecenter.com. If you do, expect no warranty.

Disappointing Experience with TheTreeCenter: Unhealthy Apple Tree and Poor Customer Service
I just bought an apple tree from TheTreeCenter for $120 and when it came, it was all scabby. I tried to fix it up, but it just got worse and now the whole tree is covered in it. I asked for my money back, but they said I didn't get the one year policy, so they can't do anything since it's been 45 days instead of 30. Take a look at the pictures, does this look like a healthy tree like they promised? It's a shame that I have to go to other companies that automatically guarantee their products, send out healthy trees, and don't try to hide behind their refund policy to avoid giving an honest product.
Disappointing Quality and High Price: My Review of TheTreeCenter's Grape Crape Myrtle Plants
Let me tell you, the way TheTreeCenter packed and shipped my order was top-notch. I was impressed! But when I opened the boxes and saw the four Grape Crape Myrtle plants, I was disappointed. They were in #3 containers and had only three to five stems that were about 12-15" tall. I've been in the nursery and landscape business for over fifty years, and I've seen better quality plants get destroyed. The price I paid for these plants was way too high for the quality I received. I won't be ordering from TheTreeCenter again, and I'm going to show pictures of these plants to all of my nursery friends across the country. I'm Bob M, an ornamental horticulturist from Purdue University, and I know what I'm talking about when it comes to plants.
Disappointing Experience with TheTreeCenter: Dead Tree and Warranty Glitch
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with TheTreeCenter. I was really excited to get some Blue Spruce Trees for my yard, so I went ahead and bought three of them from their website. I even paid extra for a warranty, just in case anything went wrong. But boy, did things go wrong.
First off, when the trees arrived, one of them had a dislodged root ball. I don't know if it happened during shipping or what, but it was pretty clear that the tree was not going to make it. And sure enough, it died pretty quickly. I was pretty disappointed, but I figured at least I had the warranty to fall back on.
Well, that's where things got really frustrating. When I contacted TheTreeCenter about the dead tree, they told me that there had been a "technical glitch" with the warranty system, and that my trees were not actually covered. I was pretty angry about this, since I had paid extra for the warranty and had even forwarded them my invoice receipt clearly stating that the trees were covered.
Their response was basically "too bad, so sad." They didn't offer to replace the dead tree or refund my money or anything. They just said that the warranty glitch had been fixed and that I was out of luck.
Honestly, I've bought plants from a lot of different websites over the years, and I've never had a problem like this before. I'm really disappointed in TheTreeCenter, and I definitely won't be buying from them again. If you're thinking about buying trees from them, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Misleading Product Description and Poor Customer Service from TheTreeCenter
I recently received a tree from TheTreeCenter and I must say, I was quite disappointed with my purchase. I was expecting a real 100% Red Dragon Maple tree, but instead, I received a graft. I was never informed that it was a graft in any of the descriptions, so this was quite a surprise to me. To make matters worse, the tree was tiny! The graft was just a small branch, which was not what I was expecting at all.
I reached out to their customer support email address for help, but unfortunately, they have not responded to my request. I am now stuck with this tree that I do not want and cannot return without paying for shipping. Even if I did return it, thetreecenter only issues store credit, which is useless to me since I do not plan on ordering from them again.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with TheTreeCenter. I feel like I was misled about the product I was purchasing and now I am stuck with something that I do not want. I would not recommend ordering from them in the future.
Disappointing Experience with TheTreeCenter: Small and Damaged Plants for High Price
I gotta say, I totally agree with the other review I read about TheTreeCenter. I was hoping to get some bang for my buck by ordering online instead of hitting up the local nursery, but boy was I disappointed. I ordered four of those Nova Zembla rhododendrons in the 5 gallon size, thinking they'd be big and beautiful. But when they arrived, they were puny little things that had been hacked to bits. They looked like they'd been through the wringer and back again. I mean, I know they'll grow eventually, but for $260, I was expecting something a little more impressive.
That being said, the customer service folks were pretty helpful. They were polite and tried to answer my questions as best they could. But I don't think I'll be ordering from TheTreeCenter again. I'll stick to the local nursery where I can see what I'm getting before I hand over my hard-earned cash.
Disappointing Experience with TheTreeCenter: Wrong Size, Wrong Color, No Fertilizer, No Response
I was really disappointed with my experience with TheTreeCenter. I was so excited to receive my 5 gallon pink dogwood tree, which I paid $89 for. I was told it would be 4-5 feet tall, but when it finally arrived a month later than expected, it was the wrong size and color. To make matters worse, it didn't even come with the starter fertilizer I had ordered.
When I opened the package, I was shocked to see that the tree was white, not pink, and it was in a 3 1/2 gallon pot instead of the 5 gallon pot I had paid for. To top it off, the tree was only 2 1/2 feet tall and had the girth of a twig. I was really upset and immediately submitted numerous emails and tickets to TheTreeCenter, but I never received a response.
I tried calling multiple times, but I kept getting disconnected. It was really frustrating and I felt like I was getting nowhere. Finally, after weeks of trying to get in touch with someone, I received a generic email from TheTreeCenter that simply said "Thank you, The Tree Center." I was so disappointed that there was no actual response, no refund, and no resolution to my problem.
Overall, I was really disappointed with TheTreeCenter's customer service. It was a waste of my time and money, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. It's really frustrating when you spend your hard-earned money on something and it doesn't turn out the way you expected. I hope that TheTreeCenter can improve their customer service in the future so that others don't have to go through the same frustrating experience that I did.
Disappointing Experience with TheTreeCenter: Small Trees and Poor Quality
I recently purchased a few trees from TheTreeCenter and I must say, I was a bit disappointed with the size of the trees. I ordered a Ginkgo tree in a 5 gallon container, but when it arrived, it was only 45 inches tall. I was a bit surprised, as there were no expected height thresholds specified on their website. However, the staff at The Tree Center seemed to think that this was not a concern. Unfortunately, the tree died just 90 days later, which was quite disappointing.
In addition to the Ginkgo tree, I also purchased some Birch trees. When they arrived, I noticed that the central leader of the trees had been cut to fit in the shipping box. This stunted their growth and will likely lead to life-long form issues. It's clear to me now that buying trees online is not the best idea. I would recommend going to your local box store or, even better, your local nursery.
Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience with TheTreeCenter. While their website may be easy to navigate and their selection may seem impressive, the quality of their trees left something to be desired. I would caution anyone considering purchasing trees from them to think twice and consider other options.
Disappointed with the size of Skip laurels from TheTreeCenter
I recently bought 3 Skip laurels from TheTreeCenter and I gotta say, I was a bit disappointed with the size of the plants. I mean, they were in 5-gal pots and cost me $69.50 each, but they were way smaller than I expected. I guess it's partly my fault for not calling them up to ask about the size beforehand. I mean, I could have gotten 5-6' specimens for over $100 from local stores or online. But hey, I decided to take a chance with TheTreeCenter.
When I got the plants, they were only about 20-24" tall. I was a bit bummed out because they had been "topped" to fit in the cardboard boxes. But when I looked at the root systems and main stems, they looked like they could have supported way more foliage. So I'm hopeful that they'll grow rapidly once they're established in the ground. Fingers crossed!
On the bright side, all 3 plants arrived in good condition and have been doing well in the ground. I'm happy about that. I just wish they were a bit bigger for the price I paid. But hey, you win some, you lose some. Overall, I'd say TheTreeCenter is a decent place to buy plants from.
Disappointing Experience with TheTreeCenter: Misleading Information and Poor Customer Support
My experience with TheTreeCenter was not good at all. I ordered 9 Hetz Midget Arborvitaes and I was really excited to receive them. Before placing the order, I called the support team to make sure I was getting the right size. The person I spoke to assured me that the plants would be at least 10-12" up to 13-15". However, when the plants arrived, they were only 5"! I was really disappointed and frustrated because they were half the size I was expecting.
I tried to reach out to the customer support team to see if they could help me with this issue. Unfortunately, my experience only got worse from there. I spoke to two managers and both of them told me that there was nothing they could do to help me. They didn't even apologize for the mistake that was made by their own company. I was really upset and felt like I had wasted my money.
Overall, I would not recommend TheTreeCenter to anyone I know. The customer support was terrible and they didn't take responsibility for their mistake. It's really disappointing because I was really looking forward to receiving these plants. If you're looking to order plants online, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Disappointing Experience with TheTreeCenter: Dead Trees and No Compensation
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience with TheTreeCenter. I dropped a ton of cash on some holly trees, but they didn't even make it a year before they kicked the bucket. And what did I get in return? A measly discount for a future purchase. What a joke! I ended up with over 36 dead trees and no compensation. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
Honestly, it seems like they care more about selling insurance than providing a quality product. I mean, come on! I've been in retail for 47 years and I would never treat my customers like this. It's just not right. I even gave them a chance to make things right, but all they wanted to do was talk about my lack of insurance. What a scam!
If you're thinking about buying from TheTreeCenter, I suggest you think again. Save yourself the trouble and shop local. Don't make the same mistake I did. I've lost all respect for this company and I won't be doing business with them again. I'm headed up to NH where they actually care about their customers.
