live casual universal 4ft. or 5ft. outdoor swing stand
swing stand is supposed to be for outdoor use, yet after two months in my yard the paint has bubbled and cracked all over the stand, and the metal is rusting. Completely unacceptable for a $200 stand to fail after two months. I purchased this stand as a Christmas gift in October and we put it up in January when our new swing arrived. (I live in Georgia, so spring starts in January) I was very pleased with the look of the stand, and I expected we would be able to enjoy it for a couple of years. But by the end of February, it looked awful. It breaks my heart that it has failed so terribly. I requested a refund but the best the Porch Swing Company offered was to send another stand with shipping at my expense, or a $50 store credit for a $200 purchase. Now they've stopped answering messages and have deleted my honest review off their website.
Porch to Patio / the Porch Swing Company does not stand by its products so I will not be purchasing from them again. I am a very unhappy and unsatisfied customer indeed. I only hope that I can keep you from making the same mistake I made in purchasing from them.
Desired outcome: Refund
Undisclosed cancellation policy
I ordered a porch swing and paid. 5 minutes later I realized it did not come with cushions. I tried to cancel within 6 minutes. It was 9 pm at night, I was trying to cancel at 9:06 pm. It would not let me cancel without agreeing to their previously undisclosed policy of a 5% cancellation fee for cancelling within 24 hours. The reason they said was that process orders upon receipt. No one answered the phone. I left a message. I called the minute they opened and then twice more before 9:30 am. No answer. I sent a separate email asking to cancel, no response. Finally I get a message that they are refunding less 5%. I am filing a complaint with the federal trade commission. I am filing a complaint with the Consumer protection agency. Based on the over 100 complaints I am going to see what we can do about a criminal prosecution as this is a scam they are running. I believe this is just some person working out of their house. We'll see, but unfortunately for her I know where to push the buttons to make this policy of hers come back and bite her in the butt.
Desired outcome: Refund the 5%. they stole.
Amish gliding chair
I received a defective Amish Glider from "The Porch Swing Co." I have tried calling, email, and text. I have no way of speaking with a person to get this resolved. I am very frustrated about the quality for a 400 hundred dollar chair.
I would like to get a full refund. I also should not have to pay for returning the defective chair as well as stocking fees.
Thank you,
C Williams

poor customer service and quality of product
Put order in and never heard from the company ever again. Calling their toll free number is useless.
I had to put a dispute into my credit card company about the charge since I could not get any answers from the company. Guess what 2 days later I finally get a email about my delivery date.
When the swing arrived it was very poor quality. The wood is splintering and paint is pealing one year later.
Should have done some research prior to placing order. Will never use this company again! I recommend you stay away.
customer service/delivery issue with ordered porch swing
I ordered an item from ThePorchSwingCompany.com so that I'd have a nice porch swing for my elderly mother when she visits at Thanksgiving (I live in Southern California, where it's still in the 70's). It was supposed to ship last week. When I tried to get a shipping update, I could not get a live person. Everything is handled via email - EVERYTHING. I finally got a hold of someone via email named Darlene who after a lot of emails and pushing finally admitted that they had a "warehouse delay" and couldn't ship as promised/advertised. Consequently, she cancelled my order. I'm mad at myself for not checking online reviews before I ordered a porch swing from ThePorchSwingCompany.com. If I had, I wouldn't be spending time writing this review - I'd be watching my elderly mother enjoying a good book on my new porch swing. Don't make my mistake!
outdoor couch + cushions
his company is a scam and a horror. I ordered an outdoor couch for my rooftop in New York City. The item was apparently ready for shipping a week earlier than anticipated. Fedex called me to schedule delivery at which point I learned that they would be leaving it on the sidewalk as the company did not provide further assistance.
I was shocked. I don't buy couches every day and I've never ordered anything without a delivery option directly inside.
They informed that I had paid extra for "liftgate service" which I has mistakenly taken for delivery inside. What it really means is that they use a machine to take the item out of the truck and put it on the sidewalk. Has NOT paid $75 dollars for that I would have been expected to remove the couch myself.
Perhaps this is standard for other consumers, but it was a first for me. I called the company in a panic and after a few tried finally got a woman named Darlene, who understood my problem and offered on behalf of the company to pay for "white glove service." I thought that was lovely and considering the misunderstanding - a combination my furniture-buying ignorance and their lack of detailed warning on the website. She assured me the white glove service would contact me the next day to schedule the delivery.
I waited for two days. After which I tried calling the company. No answer. EVER. For day. So I wrote to their customer service.
This is when it gets very ugly. The customer service appears to be an automated system working from key words and supplying attachments with small print from the website. They never sign a name and continued to tell that if I intended to return the item there was a return policy of 20% of the sale price. I DID NOT WANT to return it. I wanted simply to schedule the delivery. I tried to make this clear again. I tried calling again.
The automated email service always responded with "Thanks for following up!" I was starting to lose my mind.
In one email they told me to call FEDEX, as FEDEX would provide the delivery. They gave a number. It was wrong. I called FEDEX myself and tracked down my shipment. I asked them if they would in fact be providing the "white glove service" and they said they do not offer that, and that WEST CHASE SHOPS never authorized it, and that the item was already in process of being returned.
I tried so many times to get through to them. It devolved into details about a freight elevator and that they would not assemble it for me... many smaller conflicts that would never have come up had the "White Glove Service" they promised actually called me to schedule.
Based on the numerous email exchanges, several of my mine became angry and desperate while their computer program remained cool, you could take away the idea that I somehow wanted to return it. But I NEVER ASKED TO RETURN ANYTHING. I only wanted a delivery.
They charged me $1650, and I still do not have the couch. I tried the Better Business Bureau as well as my credit card dispute center. Everyone gets worn down by their automated customer service. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. It's a trap, it's infuriating and I feel helpless.
swings and website
The Porch Swing Company (aka: West Chase Shops) is a deceitful website. The product they sell does not measure correctly. They claim 4 feet swings, but they are short by almost 5 inches. Also, they claim their products are made by Amish, but they are not telling the truth. In addition, they do not pay for returns and charge an excessive 25% restocking fee. This is after they send you the product, which is made in China and does not measure correctly. You can buy the same product on Amazon for less, and with a better return policy! West Chase Shops customer service is a nightmare, condescending and hard to talk to. Avoid this company, do not use them they have no integrity! None! Their product is inferior and is not made by the Amish as they claim!
lack of follow through with emails
I ordered a porch swing and never received an email confirmation. I waited for 2 weeks and tried to call the company. You cannot call them; you have to email them and wait. They say they will respond to every email in 24 hours. I never received a reply. After another week, I assumed something had gone wrong with my order so I ordered another one. The next day, the originally ordered swing arrived. I then began the process of trying to cancel the second order which was less than 24 hours old. I have emailed them twice in a week and have received no answer except the automated return email that says they will answer within 24 hours. I can only assume they are going to charge me and ship me another swing and then I will have a fight on my hands. This company's customer service is about the worst I have ever encountered.
The Porch Swing Company - buyer beware
You need to be 100% sure you will keep a product from this company - or as the old saying goes - 110%. I purchased two rockers, a table, and a porch swing totalling $857. The first box I opened, the rocker was broken. I then questioned the quality of the entire set, and returned everything. I paid an additional $300 for the return shipping costs - which I...
