The Antenna Farm Great service

On my last large order of radios, I made ordering mistakes and both types of radios. John did call me back within a day, even though I ordered the wrong equipment, all I had to do was send it back, and pay the difference in cost.

No restocking charges, no getting mad, just good service. It may take a day or two for him to get back to you, but it is a small business, and he is overloaded at times. This is where you should be buying your communications equipment.

The Antenna Farm Coax Assy's

I bought 3 coax assy's from here, they were LMR400, 2 with PL259/PL259 and one assy was PL259/N-Type.
I called and spoke to Frank which I was informed was a co-owner by him, he is the "Customer Service Rep", I called him to inquire how they installed the connectors on the coax, whether they were soldered, crimped etc., Frank informed me the tip/center conductor was soldered and the body was crimped, I accepted this after much homework because I had always soldered the shield and the tip but found crimping was good.
Upon receiving the coax all looked good, I was installing my stacked loops and put the loop on the mast on some saw horses and got the coax hooked up and lifted mast to stand on ground leaning up against house until I got on the roof via the ladder, after leaning it there I looked down and there was the end of the coax with the tip only on the center conductor, this is when I became very upset, they LIED, and they know they LIED.
So I went up the ladder and removed the threaded collar from the loop antenna, the first thing I notice is this is not crimped, it is a screw on type PL259, then I went back down and looked at the coax end, I wish I could post a pic here ... anyway, thye used a screw on connector (Lie #1), very cheap, appears to be aluminum, I was told "Quality Crimp On PL259", and to make matters worse, when they stripped back the additional outer jacket, they did not even pull the braid back over the jacket before screwing it on which is why it pulled out because the body was loose on the outer jacket, no solder, braid not pulled back before screwing on and obviously they lied about using crimp connectors and do not even know how to install a screw on type properly, and the connector so cheap that even with all the other failures that the tip was not even remotely secure due to how cheap it was though it could have been due to excessive heat when soldering tip though again ...cheap cheap cheap.
So I call and talk to Frank, he basically calls me a liar, I send a very pointed email to them and then his partner John calls me, I am explaining and he says the connector broke, I said but John it is not a crimp connector like I was told and even still it was installed wrong as a screw on type and it is aluminum body for gods sake the cheapest mess I have ever seen, so he begins to cuss me and tells me F U and hangs up on me like Frank did...
Yes they are a reseller and the retail goods they have in that dept are legit, but I do not trust people like this that are intentionally defrauding people, I had wondered why I did not see the hex shape under the shrink tubing at the connector but paid it no mind, but now I understand, they LIED, and they know, very sad, so they both hung up on me, I have reported them to the FTC and the BBB and my local AG Office in hopes they will at least be forced to stop screwing people with their shoddy jack leg connectors and to be honest, pure and dishonest Fraud.
I hope you all warn people of them, please do not let anyone at least buy any of their premade assy's, I hate to see this happen to me but yet more so to others.
So now I am replacing all the connectors on the assy's, thank goodness I had a crimper and Amphenol Crimp PL259's here so I could replace the one for my stacked M2 HO Loops, only downside is I now have to take down the mast my dipole is mounted on with the Diamond 510 on top of it so I can replace that connector, I am not leaving a loose ground up there ...
What a sad sad thing these guys are doing to make an extra buck...v

The Antenna Farm customer service

On 9/1 I purchased a Laird Technologies ETRA1440 antenna. It arrived defective. I emailed the company about advance-sending a replacement, because I couldn't find return/exchange information anywhere on the site. I received this email, which I found quite rude: "Just click on "returns" at the bottom left side of any of our website pages." I emailed a screen shot showing there was no such link. I then received this email: "Use a home PC" So, I sent a photo of my computer monitor also not displaying such a link. I then received this email: "Sir it's just a defective antenna for a hobby... not a defective child. I'm sorry you are experiencing such problems." I've already placed over $300 in orders from this company. This is horrible customer service. All I asked for was an advance-shipment replacement, not terse, rude responses from a customer who has already spent $300 and was about to spend $200 more. I'm taking my business elsewhere, and so should anyone else thinking of purchasing from this place.

The Antenna Farm Criminal customer service

Unfortunately, my wife & I recently attempted to purchase an Astron Power Supply from the owner of this outfit, "john". After being consistently misled and deliberately lied to regarding the order processing, payment received and product shipment, we have finally resorted to reporting his highly disreputable business abuses to the authorities at EBay.
Clearly, whatever John's personal social deficits are, they are amply reflected in his approach to professional interactions as well. This is one character who does NOT earn or deserve your hard-earned cash.
There simply are too many other honest, hardworking individuals who DO value your patronage.
Don't waste a single keystroke on this company--the sooner it is replaced by it's competitors, the better for us all...

I just placed a order (20930) on 12/12/9. I would like to remove the magnet
mount Maxrad RG from the order and replace it with the Maxrad BMUHF/TGB34 or
similar if item is not in stock.

Thank you very much,
Eric

Wow thanks for the great customer service. I was going to order a VHF antenna from you but I think I have changed my mind.
I run my own ecommerce site and ebay auctions and I would never respond to one of my customers in that manner

huh? Are you having a bad day? woops is a form of apology...

Also, we have a toll free phone #...you could have called. Email is not like a phone call.

Explain how this is our fault?

A apology does not fix the problem. Why would I call a place that is closed? The order was placed on a weekend. I'm not going to interrupt  my work day to call you. Why would you have a email us option if your not going to check it for 3 days?

FYI I'm not having a bad day I am just experiencing horrible customer service. I will definitely be  sharing my experience with many forums and web sites.
Have a great day,
Eric

End of emails.
Now if I never changed my mind on one of the items I ordered I would have never had this issue.
However I do think sending a email the next morning before the item has been shipped or before they where even open should have solved the problem. My issue is that I didn’t even get a response to my email till 5:01 pm on 12/16/9 that’s Wednesday. 3 business days after I sent in my order change request.
You be the judge.

These comments make me extremely nervous. I ordered somethings for my son off this website on December 15th. I paid for priority shipping. Still have not received the item as of December 23rd. I checked the web order and it still says processing. I called and only received an answering machine. Of course, I sent a web email from their site. However, I do not expect to have a response before Christmas. I wish they had updated the order information online or emailed if their was a delay in the order. It's called, "Good customer service!" I will have one very disappointed person on Christmas if this order does not arrive in time!

This place is not good. They advertise on the phone they are in the office from 10 AM to 4 PM monday through thursday. I called and called and called an no one answered until after 11AM. I placed an order, and paid for everything, 6 antennas, 6 L brackets and 6 mounts and coax. They only thing I received was the antennas, period. No L brackets and no coax. I was screwed as I had an inspection with the Montana Highway Patrol but was kicked to the curb as our radios did not work! So they did not send what I ordered and not they are on vacation. You can't get hold of anyone so they stole my money. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and the state attorney generals office for theft and what a lousy company to do business with. I recommend NO ONE do any business with with this company what so ever!

I am still waiting for a tracking confirmation - 3 days, so foar. I have already removed this comapny from my list. Paying a few bucks more somewhere else is definitely worth less hassle.

They need to integrate customer service into their business plan and, perhaps, receive training for it.

I have dealt with hundreds of companies on the internet since the 90's and I can tell you this is one of the worst for simple things like "INFORATION!". are you kidding me. They apparently don't need my money, so they will no longer receive it.
