On March 28, 2025 we had our HVAC contractor service our home A/C system to include replacing filters. The air handling system and cold air return are located in the attic. Everything was in excellent shape.
On April 3, 2025 we signed a contract to have Terminix replace our attic insulation. Within a month my wife complained about the air handling getting loud and she contacted Terminix. We got no response. It is obvious that removal of the old insulation resulted in creating a gap in the air return duct that went unnoticed until the system failed. I am disappointed that Terminix did not follow up with us when my wife reported increased fan noise.
On August 16, 2025 the Air handling system stopped working. We called our HVAC contractor and they found the air return filter totally clogged with insulation resulting in air handling system failure. We had them replace the air handler so we could have air conditioning.
Terminix Manager Arthur Low refused to accept responsibility so we are out over $5,000 to have the air handler replaced.
Claimed loss: $5,500
Desired outcome: reimbursenment for the air handler cost

New insulation was to get rid of mice - we still have mice. I feel we were totally ripped off after 15 years as a customer.
