Taylor Guitars - In 2020, I bought a Taylor Acoustic Guitar from a renowned music store
In 2020, I bought a Taylor Acoustic Guitar from a renowned music store. After a few months, I noticed that the wood on the front of the body (sound board) had come off from the side and split a bit. I was confused because I didn't take the guitar anywhere (bought it during Covid), kept it in a stable place with good temperature and humidity (my living room), and it didn't experience any physical impact (no dropping, hitting walls, etc.). So, the only reason I can think of for this problem is a manufacturing issue with the body. I took the guitar to a local repair shop. The repair team took pictures and sent them to Taylor to ask about warranty coverage. They've had my guitar for months because they were busy and the store closed for a while due to a hurricane (which also forced me to evacuate). Just recently, I found out that Taylor is refusing to cover the warranty and wants to charge me $245.00 for the guitar body. I really like the guitar and the Taylor brand, but I'm disappointed and frustrated with this denial because I should get a good, working product for what I paid. I don't know what the repair shop told Taylor, so based on what I've said, I'm asking Taylor to reconsider their denial and cover the cost of the body. I haven't paid the repair shop yet because I want to wait until this is resolved before picking up the guitar. Thanks for your time.
