I wonder if this group is actually affiliated with a live IRS agent. Seemed to be very childish and this place operates like a call center they ask you personal info acting like they're official then hang up on you. Scam

Classic bait and switch, they advertise one settlement plan and reafirm that in your initial conversation, than as soon as you pay them the money they tell you that to do what you want they need an exobitant amount more of money upfront to complete the job with NO guarantee of outcome

Took my money, said they would help resolve my tax debt but I just got an income execution letter regarding my tax debt so obviously they did nothing but take my money. They do not return phone calls and have several employees with very nasty attitudes. I do not recommend. If I could give zero stars I would

Their customer service is lacking. They never call when they say they will. My case from a few years ago is still in flux with them. They filed an extension for 2020 taxes and haven't filed them yet after I received the final copy. Why would they not go ahead and file it? I'm very unhappy and would like a refund if they ever get back to me.

I worked with this company and I must say I was nervous but when they assisted me I knew I was in good hands. They do have legal fees but they will work with you. These days it gets scare doing that but they guided me the whole way. I had a debt of 35,000 for u paid and got me a settlement for $8,200. Thank you for the help and thank you for the time

Tax Advocate Group has not reached out to me since December . I paid the fees and have reached out to them for status. No one has gotten back to me. No email , no phone call back. Not even a follow up that they are working on my case. I am out of over 12K. I would really like for them to resolve my issue but if they can't, I would like them to please refund me. Please return my calls or refund me.

I had extensive conversations and was told that an initial deposit was required to retain the service and would need to commit to a monthly fee since I could not pay for the $8k they needed to resolve my s debt. I made 2 payments and when I insisted for documentation for what had been resolved and the actual debt resolved allegedly as well names of the attorneys handling my case I got hung up on with no further communication

I can't say enough good things about Tax Advocate Group and their hardworking staff. They financially changed my life! They removed my wage garnishment right away. I constantly received clear communication from their entire team. And at the end, they saved me tens of thousands off my total tax debt. At first i was a little hesitant, but now i can confidently say, I would not hesitate to refer even my closest friends and family! Thank you Tax Advocate Group and Happy New Year.

Awful! They are a scam. Lucas Rand said "Lol" in a text to me because I decided to go to an actual attorney instead. The attorney only charges a retainer fee until they do the actual research. This group promises things that they can't deliver and ask for an upfront cost of 2,500 which makes no sense. They have no idea about the case, and then they try to scare you saying if you don't pay now you will owe 20,000 soon. They are pushy and rude. BEWARE! If you saw this, I'm glad you looked before doing business with them.

Tax Advocate Group or TAG just finished settling my tax debt of somewhere around 95k, it kept going up and got out of hand so that was the last number I saw it at although it grew more. I had four excellent individuals working on it and between them they knew everything about tax laws and how to help me. At first after hiring them I didn't hear from them or the IRS for a few months and hoped I was forgotten. Sadly my tax debt wasn't forgotten, but it was being taken care of! At the 5 month mark I started getting more contact from TAG, more documents to go over and such; and finally it was all finished. They fixed the mistakes of my past, eased my stress of debt and worries, and got me a fresh start in my life. I would rate 6 stars if I could, professionalism, results, speed of settlement, every aspect of this wonderful company far exceeded my expectations and I am a better man for coming across them all.

Missed one year of taxes in '17, and naturally the IRS waited years to notify me so the amount due had almost tripled. I was overwhelmed. When I first called I was immediately put to ease, it really sounded like this guy, Ron, knew far more options for potential relief than I would have ever imagined was possible. Naturally I signed up, for almost $10k. They told me that I would hear from one of the attorneys would be reaching out to me as soon as they had made some progress. It took about 3 months before I heard a thing, then I got the first of many calls from one of their attorneys to give me a full update on what was happening. In the end they saved me just under $50k on the 7 tax year. So happy I hired this firm to help keep $40k in my pocket. I will be having Tax Advocate Group handle my yearly taxes from now on, to ensure maximum refund, while protecting myself so the same mistake I made doesn't happen twice.

Said would help with my tax debt charged me alot of money Solicited by this organization to help me with my tax debt. They promised me they would reduce my tax debt and asked for power of attorney. This was a complete scam in trying to get me to pay them for support of my tax debt and over a few months took *** in fees telling me they were working directly with the IRS to reduce my debt. They seemed very legitimate initially until after a few months and *** in fees they did a three way call with a loan officer and tried to get me to sign up for a loan in which I would pay them and they would pay down my debt. This clearly did not sound legitimate and stated that I to apply for 3 loans to get denial letters to send the IRS. I don't think they are with the IRS. I would like to get my money back from this fraudulent experience

I paid for services that I never received. Tax advocate Group told me that they could settle my balance with the IRS. I hired them over a year ago. They kept trying to get more money once I was done with the payments. Once the payments were completed I had to constantly reach out to them, they would keep me on hold for 45 mins to a hour EACH TIME I called that's if I could even get in contact with someone. My IRS balance has now gone up because of late fees. I call everyday and get no answer, no one has returned my calls. I am very upset, I just want to be refunded my $*** at this point. I feel like I've been SCAMMED. I received NO HELP at all. I regret hiring them to help me and would recommend that no ones seeks assistance from this company, it has been a total disaster, if I had $*** to just give away I would have paid that to the IRS instead of hiring The Tax Advocate Group.

November 4th I signed up with the tax advocate group to solve my tax debt, after receiving numerous mailings from they convinced me it was very urgent I have given them a total of $*** in the last 6 months they have lied to me on how they were handling my case I've have received zero response from them I only here from them when they wanted a payment I live on a small social security I am a veteran 64 years old and the stress that this has put me through during covid19 is extreme I've requested a refund 3 times in the last month and still not even a call. $*** is a huge amount of money for someone like me who has nothing many sleepless nights thinking about this I'm so stressed that depression is taking a hold of me. I really need help but with very little income it is impossible to hire a lawyer and assistance you can provide would be so greatly appreciated please please help me *** thank you

I was contacted through the mail from Tax Advocate Group about a tax lien that was placed on my property. I knew I owed the IRS money from tax periods 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. for a total amount of $***. They told me they could reduce it to $*** I contacted them and was on the phone for over 5 hours. They passed me from one person to another, I needed to pay them $*** to proceed. They claim that we were on a 3 way call with the IRS and they were getting to a settlement. They emailed me papers to sign and return which I did. Then on 12/22 they said that they resolved it for $*** and they set up a third party lender to pay this amount. So now I'm owing $*** I had two loans now signed with ultra high interest rates that I am currently making payments but the lien is still on my property. I talked to them 3 weeks ago and they promised me that it was paid but I have nothing to show that it was. They sent me no paperwork.

My case# with tax group is *** I paid Tax group $2000 in the beginning of 2021 to help settle my 2018 and 2019 tax depth with the irs and they charge another 1500 to file and include 2020 returns the year almost over with and the irs started to take action so I call the irs to see what was going on and they say 2020 taxes has not been filed and there was no extension filed so I filed 2020 on my own cause irs was giving to October to file Tax group has not done anything to help me with irs they just took $3500 they have you on 30min+ waiting calls just to come back to the phone and say they will reach back out with paperwork for me to sign but they never call or email back I just want a refund of my $3500 cause every time I reach out to take asking for my refund they either hang up or say someone going to reach out to me in regards to my refund but no one never reaches back out I do have bank statements showing that I paid Tax Group on two separate occasions

I owed *** in taxes after a filing mistake in 2016. I received mail from the Tax Advocate and after contacting them they said they would get the debt eliminated but I had to pay them ***. I set up payments and over the next 7 months paid them *** They kept telling me the IRS was slow due to COVID. I repeatedly couldn't get ahold of the IRS. Finally another person from this company contacted me & said he was getting it resolved but I needed to take out a loan for another *** and they would pay the IRS. This was a blow to me as I had lost my job due to COVID and couldn't afford more payments. Since I had already paid them *** and still owed the IRS *** I went ahead and did this. The *** loan went to them and they were to pay the IRS who would then forgive *** of what I owed. This did not happen and as I was unemployed most of the year, only working part time I was to receive a *** tax check which the IRS kept since the Tax Advocate Group had done nothing.

In January I Hired the Tax Advocate Group to help resolve my Tax issue. I paid $500 down payment directly out of my bank account. *** said that he was going to apply for a loan and get it denied to help my case with the IRS. Even though I used electronic signature for my agreement with the lawyer, I never signed anything with a bank. A loan was issued in my name and paying the lawyer without my knowledge with payments being taken directly from my bank account The law group then said that everything was resolved with the IRS, but insisted that I agree to let them monitor my taxes for 5 years for an extra fee, which I refused. No work was ever done on my account until I took care of it myself. Several members of the firm have repeatedly LIED to me saying that they successfully took care of the matter. They refuseed to provide copies of any paperwork to me, and now they won't even return my call or refund my money. I want a complete refund of ALL the money they have been paid.

The acount tracking # is *** .The date is 9/16. I have enclosed a copy of The Service Agreement. The first time they contacted us ,they said they can assist us with preparing and submiting an Offer in Compromise to IRS (see Section 2 of service agreement ) and their fee will be a total of $***. Later , when it came to actually sign the agreemnt ,they increase the amonut to *** with an intial depoit of $*** which was paid on 9/17 . No terms on montly payment were specified or agreed upon, on how the rest of the ***0 was to be paid . We just noticed ,Tax Advocate Group has withdrawn an additional $300.00 from our cheking acount as of today . I made a phone call a few days later and soke to *** as to clarify our montly payment amount . She transfered me to a man who did not tell me his name. He said that the only way they can continue to help us is for us to pay an additional*** . I did not agree. & is the last time I heard from them .

About 5 months ago I called this group seeking help to resolve my tax debt. I was impressed by what they promised. *** said in 45 days my tax debt would be erased and all levies would be released on my personal property. Once I agreed to let them help me, I was put on a conference call with a lender to borrow money to pay for the fees it would take to represent me in the amount of $***. *** called me again on another conference call with a lender saying $*** was needed to cover the costs of paperwork. A total of $*** was paid and no one has contacted me since then. They lied saying the officer at IRS would not cooperate with them; the officer told me, she has reached out to them but they will not return her calls. I called the group and spoke with ***, requesting for them to dismiss my case since they're not doing their job. She told me to stop calling them and hung up on me. ***, ***, ***, or *** have done nothing to help. A SCAM! STAY AWAY

This company contacted us by mail in Feb. of 2020. I called the number and spoke with an attorney that was very impressive in what they could do for us, and the reduction of what we owe. We sent $*** that day and wasn't contacted for a couple months. when they did they wanted to close all of our retirement accounts. We couldn't do that and they said they would get back to us. I contacted them in Nov. was on hold for an hour then was told someone would call back. That never happened. the next contact was in Feb 2021 and was told to continue representation they needed $*** and the case should be done in a couple months. sent money that night. Called in May and was told the IRS was slow to respond but will be done by Sept. Called in Sept. and was told matter of fact that no one should have told me that it was going to be settled and that it would be a couple more years. and there is nothing they could do about that. I owed $*** in taxes and now its up to $***. customer

I ***, am filing a complaint against Tax Advocate Group/Tax Advocate Group, LLC for what seems to be defrauding and obtaining funds/money beginning July 22 to approximately to October 30 totaling $*** for services relating to negating/resolving/settlement offer with the IRS for owed state and federal taxes. Informed that my tax matters had been resolved on 10/30 they put me on a payment plan for an additional $*** that included the amount the IRS settled my taxes and their ongoing services to handle matters up to my federal and state taxes up to 2020 ( review related correspondence). Additional approx. $*** paid. Continue to request & never received the documentation from the IRS to have documentation for my records and if needed for verification in the future. I was informed on July 26 that Offer In Compromise nor any other matters have been negotiated, resolved or settled on my behalf from Tax Advocate Group or tax attorney and still owe taxes.

I contacted these people about getting my taxes taken care of. I paid initially $*** for their service. All seemed ok at first but then I learned about a lien. After talking to them because I was looking to buy a house, they said they can get the lien removed but for another $***. So I paid. They said it would be removed in a few months and plenty of time to buy a house. Luckily on their part we had to stop looking. So it was no rush at the time but I informed them that I will be buy before the end of the year. Let me add as well that I do not get any kind of updates. My email and phone calls go unanswered. David Knight whom I've been dealing with doesn't call me back. I did get a call from someone else needing me to sign paperwork in which I did and they even ensure me they would have the lien taken care of. Here it is I'm buying a house and still no word from them. I can't get any information out of them. I paid them *** to work for me and it's been a year and don't know anything

March I signed up with the Tax Advocate Group to solve my tax debt. Upon signing up with them I was rushed and manipulated into signing paperwork via internet for a loan from one of their vendors to get the process started. I was told from *** that they needed $*** to get the process started and that I would not owe the IRS anything after that. I asked *** how he came up with that dollar figure and his response was "we have been doing this for years and we know how to deal with the IRS". I believed him. In taking out this loan *** never once mentioned that the interest on the loan is 44.68% and the total is close to $*** when paying the loan off. Since March I have paid them $***. I have been lied to, put on hold for enormous amount of time, hung up on and phone calls not returned. I am a single female who feels violated, taken advantage of, and manipulated from Tax Advocate Group. I have endured anxiety and unwanted stress due to this whole process. I would like a full reimbursement and proof that my name is cleared with the lender for this loan showing me a zero balance.

This company TA X ADVOCATE GROUP was misleading, they reached out to me regarding IRS owed taxes for the year of 2019 for $*** dollars. They told me they could help me resolve this issue. They charged me $*** from the start, never mentioned any other fees. Once the attorney contacted me he then mentioned more fees for $*** and this point I told the attorney that I was never told of other charges, he then sent me forms for me to sign that would give 3 other people power of attorney and access to all of my bank accounts, he also knew all of my balances on all of my banks, he also told that they did not guarantee that the IRS would forgive the charges that this will only help us not pay interest while they worked on our case. I told him I did not need their services, and that I needed my $*** back which they did return, but refused to return the $***. These people prey on people who are desperate and have no clue like me. Please don't allow these thieves to take any more money from others. I would like my money back but they told me the $*** were non refundable *** is the attorney name this happened 10/06

On 11/3 I signed an agreement with TAG to pay $***. In return *** told me they could greatly reduce the $850 payments I could not make, as my income had dropped to less than half of what it had been. I paid TAG $*** on Nov 5 and they've debited my bank account $700 in each subsequent month. *** and I had two 3-way calls with the IRS. I did not hear the conversations, I only gave approval. At one point *** had me talk to ***, who said I owed a second installment of $***. I told him *** and I had agreed on $*** total and would not pay additional money. I provided *** with the all the info he requested but have not heard from him since December. On 2/8/22, *** called & said I had opened an American Express card in December, proving I was able to pay more money. (The Amex fraud department assured me there was no card in my name). I called *** to tell him that & he threatened that unless I paid TAG (not the IRS) $*** to make it all go away, the IRS would put me in collections and garnish my SS & wages. Since then no one has responded to email requests for a phone call. ***'s threats & demands have caused me, a 71 year old woman, great fear, anxiety and illness. I also have no idea where I stand with the IRS.

August this law firm reached out to me claiming they would resolve my IRS and state franchise tax board debts completely. Initially they requested and received a *** cash down payment, then they required an additional $*** in cash (which they set me up with one of their in-house loan companies American First Financial) in addition to that *** they required that I set up an auto-withdraw from my checking account every month since November to date totalling another ***. According to my records, they have received *** and they are continuing to withdraw from my checking every month. I have made numerous attempts by telephone, email, and text messages with one email response asking for me to contact them again (which I did) with no response. I recieved an Annual Tax Delinquency Notice from an IRS collection agency ConServe in May indicating an outstanding balance with the IRS over***. I forwarded that document to them with no reply. I have made repeated requests for a copy of our agreement (which I have never recieved), I have asked for the current status on my account (which I have not recieved) . I have been unable to communicate with this law firm, and they have ignored every request I have made on my behalf.

The original fee of $*** was to prepare and file our state and federal late returns and negotiate with state and federal tax authorities to get our bill significantly reduced. It has taken 6 months for tag to get our returns filed correctly. TAG prepared filings for the wrong state initially and took over a month to resolve. They have all of the POA they need for both state and federal since May. Zero debt reduction negotiations between TAG and the tax authorities have happened.meanwhile penalties and interest are racking up. When I contacted them to find out what was happening, I was told I needed to come up with another $*** for them to negotiate and put us on some sort of "5-year plan" where they'd handle everything. That was not the original agreement. I keep getting handed off to a different person all the time and they seem to be I such a rush that none of them ever stick on our case long enough to follow through on anything. It has been 8 months since we first engaged. No negotiations have happened yet and it's now Feb 2022. I keep getting nasty letters form the state and federal tax authorities with ridiculous penalties and interest. I have several job and Covid related factors that has made it impossible to get on top of these tax bills. And TAG has proven to be predatory at best. I either need them to negotiate down my tax bill substantially as was the original agreement or refund the $***.

I hired these guys to help me solve my IRS tax debt. Early on they spoke about being able to solve my tax debt and asking me to allow them to have power of attorney to sign on my behalf. It was my understanding from the IRS that my tax debt was $***. I've paid these guys $*** and all I'm receiving from them is a letter on their letter head stating my case is in CNC. I looked that up and from what I can determine, it means it's in "currently not collectible". Which means that can stand for 2 years and they can come back after me again. No one discussed this with me before hand, nor was it explained to me afterwards. As a matter of fact, I received the letter informing me of the state of my case after I called on numerous occasions and got no answer. It was when I called number I got off the Complaintsboard.com website and threatened them to reach out to you about this Case, is when I got that CNC letter. I've paid them that money last year and I'M NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BEING SATISFIED WITH THIS OUTCOME, THIS COMPANY OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES! They will not return my text messages, phone calls or emails. In addition, the one letter I received from them stated the were revoking the power of attorney. Our original agreement was for them to walk with me for the next 2-3 years of tax returns as well. Now they will not return any of my messages. And trust me...I've been extremely respectful in my communications and I don't deserve to be treated like I'm a bother, especially since I've paid *** on a *** debt! I would like my funds returned and I'll seek more competent and reliable help my self. Please help? Thanks

I answered an add in the early part of February about tax relief. I contacted Tax Advocate Group about my issues with the IRS and they agreed that could help. Their initial service fee was *** which I paid and they supposedly went to work. After a short time they informed me that my case was legitimate and I needed to sign a Power of Attorney for them to representment me with the IRS. After filling out all the forms and returning them to the company many weeks went by with no reply. After several phone calls they informed me that they had made contact with the IRS and resolution proceedings were in the making. Finally after another few weeks and more back up phone calls they informed me that an agreement was in place, and I would be receiving a letter from the IRS stating the agreement of *** was in affect. The letter never came, and I continually called their tax resolution department. They informed me over and over and over again that I should be patient and that the IRS was backed up due to Covid-19. After several weeks, I received a letter from the IRS informing me that they were to attach my Social Security to make payment. I then called the IRS and spoke to an agent, informing me that no such agreement was ever made with Tax Advocate Group, and in order for me to stop the lien on my SS I needed to make some kind of payment arrangement to avoid having my SS attached. I then phone them, and a representative told me that the additional *** was an additional fee charge to pay for continued help. I then requested a full refund of $*** and have not had any reply. They have blatantly lied to me, and I have contacted a lawyer to file criminal fraud charges.

I hired the Tax Advocate Group on *** contracting for tax resolution services. I was told they would negotiate my debt, and that I would have a resolution and a payment plan in place within 6-9 months. I have provided every piece of information that they have requested in a timely manner, but there is no proof that they have even filed or started working on my case at all. When they call, I am immediately put on hold for 15 minutes or more to talk to someone different each time. I have asked for written documentation that they filed forms on my behalf, because I don't see any evidence of any filing of *** nor do I even see evidence of them filing a Power of Attorney which I signed over a year ago. I have received warrant notices from the IRS, as well, to which they told me to disregard them. I paid Tax Advocate Group *** over five monthly payments starting September and then they asked me for another *** required for additional tax advice from their attorney, *** They set me up with a loan through *** for *** which I am currently paying with high interest. I have reached out to *** directly on more than 15 occasions, since I was told I could ask him any questions based on the extra fees I paid, but I have only received four short email responses in which I am told to call in with questions. Whenever I call, I am told *** is not available to talk. I requested written proof of communication with the IRS on *** and I was told to call in to discuss it. When I called in, I was told that they have only filed a *** on *** and that they would return my call with an update on *** They have not returned my call nor sent me any updates in writing. I requested a refund via email when my requests for written proof of communication with the IRS was not provided, and they have not responded at all. I believe that I have been taken advantage of, and I just want my money back.
