Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) relocation harassment!

I am a TATA SKY customer at Bangalore and my customer ID is [protected]. I have relocated my house very recently (last SUNDAY - 2Mar08). I called up customer care and informed well in advance about my relocation (much before 30hours) and got appointment. I shifted my house and i was waiting... waiting and waiting..till now nobody came to my place. I made around 30calls to tatasky customer care but they kept on telling "it will be done by today" and at the end of day they used to tell "the engg re-scheduled"... and story repeats everyday. There is a BIG gap in comm between customer & eng department due to which customers are having bad time. it is the worst service I ever had in my life time. Thanks to TATASKY for showing heights of irresponsibility and not communicating well to customers. I have learnt a lot from your pathetic service. I missed grand cricket FINAL and also missing today's match :(. It is a mental toucher for the customer and BIG harassment.

From last 10 days i lodged my complaint almost 20 times at your mail, call centre just to change the location of dish antenna in nearby building as I shifted to new house.

Every day I receive a call but no action. I have never seen in my life such a USELESS, PATHETIC, UNPROFESSIONAL Service provider that too from a Group like TATA.

People without ears & eyes are sitting & just killing time without any heed on customer request.

Kuch to Sharam karo besharmo, ab to jaag jao.

I want my total recharge money back from the date of my 1st complaint and bugger "apne deebe utha ke le jao" I will shift to some other DTH service provider.

TATA SKY is the Most Third Class company of TATA Group. I have lost total faith in this group.
Dear Mr. Ratan Tata, please close this company its a big disgrace on Tata group.

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) sms problem

I purchased a Tata Indicom connection with Hand set from a Udaipur. I am continiously facing the problem of SMS sending failed. On Complaining the same the Customer Care Responded
" You are the only Customer Facing such Problem". For Verification Mr Akil Saxena(Technical Person) send some one to verify the Problem.
I didn't get the resolution even after the Verification of Problem.
Is this not a Fraud with a customer.

1. The company does not provide a email-id to which the subscriber sends enquiries or complaints.
2. It is not clear from the company's website whether a subscriber can avail a 'SAFE CUSTODY' or SUSPENSION of service. Many subscribers would be willing to avail this facility when they travel out or do not need the service during school exam times etc.

My tatasky customer ID is1053642334. I wanted to relocate within NCR . I have been trying for the past four days but no joy.Yesterday i forced cust0mercare to give me ack no of my request which is 1-[protected]. I was promised by one Shashi from Tatasky Gurgaon mob [protected], that tomorrow by 1400hrs my dish will be installed but till this time 1630 0n 09feb11, no one has come to attend. Also i got sms from some tatasky defunct TD-Tata saying your installation will be carried out at 1400hrs.It is indeed shameful for a tata company to behave in this manner. While installing this dish in oct10, it took me two weeks to get it installed while Mr Aamir Khan was crying hoarse for installation the same day.
False promises are a part of Tatas-it seems. why recruit such inefficient lot. weed out such tauuuuus.
I feel disgusted complaining againt a tata set up . but what to do

my tata sky set up box is not working since last two days, i complaint about it.the service enggineer came and said that they dont hav any set box now so they will change it tomorrow.the box was in gurantee period.
i want to know that in SUCH A BIG INFRASTRUCTURE there is not even a single setbox. i also want to know that will these 2-3 days of my loss will be added to extend my validity period.
i know that if my box had not been in gurantee period then they would hav REPLACED it IMMEDIATELY.. this type of service by your company is same as the service given by the local cable. kindly help as soon as possible.

Hi Ashok,
Since you are in the guarantee period your loss will definitly be covered up. The reason that the engineer's didn't have any STB could be that the rectification of the issue would not have required a change in the box there is no shortage of the STB as Sales are ongoing at a fast rate you will be getting after sales service as Tata Sky values its customers.

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) pathetic after sales service - worst installation experience

There cannot be worst after sales and service than Tata Sky. After several e mail there has been no reply from Tata Sky. They are least bothered about the customer. They have gone into the groove of
monopoly feeling.

I have purchased two Tata Sky connection and without my knowledge they installed one switch. They have charged Rs. 500/- for the switch. Before making the connection active we were not even informed about the switch and after installation they asked for Rs.500/- for the switch. There is nothing mentioned about the switch on their website. While taking the order also they conveniently do not mention anything about the switch. I am still not aware about the criteria for which one has to get the swtich installed. There is absolutely no transparency.

They have mentioned about refer a scheme to friend. I got the web coupon no. At the time of taking the order Tata Sky informed me that I have to give the web coupon no. to the person who delivers the set. At the time of delivery I informed him the web coupon no. then he said that it is to be given to the person who installs it. At the time of installation the person was total arrogant and not bothered about the web coupons. They are luring the customer with scheme but does not want to pay the money.

The experience at the time of installation is so bad that you get the feeling who is the customer- me or Tata Sky? We get the feeling as if they are doing some obligation on us by installing the set top box.

You send 15~20 e mails without getting any reply from them. They do not have courtsey to atleast acknowlede the receipt of e mail.

When we call the customer support all the time new person attends. We need to explain all our problem. Next time the same person refuses to take the call by giving some excuses and we land up talking to some new person.

One of set top box stopped working within three days from installation. It took more than 3 hours for Tata Sky engineers to set the same right and during the process my telephone cables were damaged.

Please do not go for Tata Sky or else you yourself shall repent.

That was really unprofessional approach by Tata sky. all they want is money from customers pocket and hard earned money, their website told no hidden cost... now what that Rs.500 (isn't it a hidden cost). apart from this they increase prices every day by making new gold packages forced user to go for that if you want to see that channels... example Neo sports.

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) deactivation of services despite paying all the amount

I have brought the TATA SKY connection on 13 th october by paying all the charges through credit card i.e(Digicomp+installation+activation+warrenty) Total of Rs [protected]+1000) but after 15 days my service was disconnected saying that i have to use the 16 digit number on recharge voucher given with the TATA SKY Package.

firstly this has not been mentioned clrealy anywhere on the TATA SKY website nor any customer care representative told me about this during purchase of TATA sky

secondly at the time of insallation also engineer didnot handed over me the voucher which they say we have to use it for activation of TATA SKY service within 14 days of installtion.

If i ahve paid all the amount in advance then why i need to have the recharge voucher again to activate my service

this is no cheating.. every service has a lousy character and seems like u confronted that chap.. neway they mention that for any enquiry related to installation .. i know that coz i had called them several times for varous details during my installation..

Only your name (SAJAN) is different but same feedback from my end too. This is worst service i never faced in any private sector. You will not find the customer service like this, .. I wasted more than Rs 30 to get the customer care excutive in the phone to make a complaint. This is scientific cheating by TATA group but rememeber they will not be in the market if the names gets spoilled. I thinking of going back to local cablewala, ..

I would like to share my bitter experience with Tata sky dealer m/s. Jayanth Auto agencies, Mysore . I had purchased a TATA SKY DIGICOM vide his invoice no. 636 dt. 03-09-2007 for Rs.2999=00 at 13.00 hrs. I even paid additional Rs.1500=00 by cash towards the installation charges, totaling Rs. 4499=00. At 13.40 hrs, when I went home I found my TV set was out of order. Immediately I informed the above dealer to cancel the order and explained the reason for the cancellation. He refused to do so.

At 18:00 hrs, I got a call from your Tata Sky office about the registration and installation. There also I explained my problem and he was kind enough to cancel the registration and asked me to contact the company representative at Mysore.

On 04-09-2007 , I went to M/s. Jayanth Auto Agencies personally and briefed him the situation and requested the dealer to refund the amount if any as per the rules of the company. The dealer flatly refused to refund even one rupee. When I requested him to refund the installation charges of Rs. 1500=00, he stood up and raised his hand to slap me. All this happened in the presence of Mr. Nazar who is the company representative.

After much discussion he refunded Rs. 1500=00 but refused pay a single rupee towards the Digicom. It is not the money which matters, but the rude and goonda behaviour of the dealer which hurt me the most. I am aged 65 years and he showed scant respect for the age. He does not have the courtesy to explain the rules of the company for refund claim and cancellation.

This is for the information of the concerned authority for redressal and to avoid unhealthy instances in the future whereby the reputation of Tata Sky may spoil.

I am deeply disturbed by this incident discouraging me to recommend any TATA services to anybody which I was keen on initially. I suppose TATA must be judicious in choosing their representatives, for it is the customer who forms the backbone of a service oriented industry.

with the referance mention about problem tatasky service. reason is i have done recharge tata sky on 8th April, 2009 but untill not update
credit balance. As i call help service & given online message also date on 9th April, 2009. but never get any response when i call on laned phone service they replay after 4hours balance will be update still 72hours finish not any response. dear friend promotion is not a impotant if you provided good service that is your promotion in your tatasky.

Why people are so stupid buying TataSky ?
Now there are many other companies offering DTH service. So just everybody must avoid tatasky and purchase any dth other than tata.
Because tatasky is just cheating the customers regarding everything e.g. settop box, channel-package, price, customer service etc. etc.
SO JUST DONT PURCHASE TATASKY.

TATA SKY Customer Service is WORST in the whole world. We ordered Tata Sky Dish from online after watching the ads they show on TV that they have Number One Customer Service in India. But the very next day a service engineer told us that our dish can not be installed because there is No Line-Of-Sight and he assured us that you just call Tata Sky customer service and your money will be refunded in next 2-3 days. Then our saga of harassment and frustration began, every time we called their customer service number, they told us 'sorry for the inconvenience', which they never meant by heart and assured us that next day someone will come to pick up the cable box and then your money will be refunded back to you in next 3-4 business days, Which Never Happened till now and we have spent already so much money in calling their STD numbers from our land line phone and lost so much peace of mind and energy. I wish we could File a Joint Law Suit against Tata Sky and claim such a hefty amount from them in penalties that they should go Bankrupt. It is this kind of Customer Service and Frauds because of which India is going to suffer a lot of loss as there will be no one trusting Indian Business companies and ultimately its a loss to the whole country.

Yes, never ever go for the trap of online ordering of Tata sky... they are just looting the customers by this... even I had a similar exp in this and they deliver connection after 43 days of my order with more than 200 calls to their customer care and all are std call... in fact Tata sky cost me for around 6000/- and frustration extra...

We purchased the connection in January 2007. Our services were resumed in the month of February 2007. Initially we were very much excited having your connection. But soon our enthusiasm died away. Since the March the dish started giving problems. The programs relayed by Tata Sky Dish TV were hazy and unclear and the sound was bad and irritating, particularly when we connected CD / DVD player. All of a sudden the programs will disappear with a torturing sound.. We inquired in our locality and found out that every Tata Sky Dish TV owner faced this problem.

Upon complaining on your call centre they said they do have a technical problem in our Four Bungalow area which will be resolved soon During this period many mails were sent to Tata Sky Dish TV Bangalore office, but no one responded. . It took almost 60 days for the problems to resolve. Things were OK for about 15 days and the problem started again.

Again the same exercise was repeated and again no response was received. Every time we made a call to your call center a very polite assurance came that the service engineer is on his way. But nobody came and resolved the problem. Finally after many calls the service engineer came and detected some problem and promised to set it right within 2 days which never happened. He fixed the Digicomp adopter in such a way that our TV was damaged and we got our TV repaired by spending Rs 4,800/-.

Even as on today, our Dish TV system does not work and our torture is on. Nobody responds to our complaints. Since the day of purchase our system did not function regularly even for a period of 15 days. It is a torture and not an entertainment.

I am putting this note for general viewer so that they are saved of the torture of facing non existent Tata Sky Dish TV service.

Hi,

This was to bring to your kind notice that my complaints to Tata Sky Helpline have not been attended for the last THREE DAYS !

Since 12th Aug evening, I have been facing problems with my Tata sky set-top box and am constantly following up with your helpline, which just comes up with innovative ideas of how, NOT TO HELP,

Even after registering same complaint almost 25 times (Not Joking, !), the only response me and my wife keep getting is one service request number and a vague promise of the “engineer” visiting in immediately-next 1 hr-or 2 hrs or definitely-worse 3 hrs ! (How I wish, I could attach all those lovely sms-es, from Tata sky in this mail !)

It has been over 60 hours and at least 150 min of sweet talks, with several highly qualified persons, but of no avail! We have also had the fortune to talk to the so called “seniors” on helpline numbers, one Mr. Setu Desai and one Mr. Vishal with even better promises, which they also know will not be met!

I am sure tomorrow being Sunday, I must not expect any services and that would mean 5 DAYS OF MERE PROMISES AND ASSURANCES! So much so for a 24*7 helpline!

I can bet I am not the first one, nor am in going to be the last one!

Hi,
I too am using tata sky for the past 1 year. I had my concern first repoted to the customer care. They seem to be very co-operative and helpful, there was once an instance wherein the engineer arrived late but that was due to traffic. I don't think there were unnecessariy delays, in fact customer service is what tata sky caters to. I have co-operated with the personnel and have recived good feedback.

Tata sky is like that big name but bad service. They have bunch of stupid dealers and the technitions and they have big dreams of capturing a big market like India. First they have to improve their dealers, staff, technitions basically everything which they can change to be in the market. According to the customers they cant be in the bussiness for a long time they will shut shop soon if they continue to give such pathetic service. I pray to God that they should take action immediately otherwise it would be very late. I request people to wait untill Tata Sky improves their service than only they should go ahead and buy Tata otherwise stick with the cable vendor who is giving service better than big name like Tata Sky. They have beautiful Advt department but very bad service.

I purchases a tata sky digicomp by local dealer and register a complaints 13th may 2008 but tata sky not remove this last four monthabout active services of doordarshan but company not providing proper service of all dd's channels it is a illegal activites that operate by tata sky and this company's digi comp is fully illegal and violate to indian law so all customer tak e a hard legal action against to this company

BE WARNED! Install Tata Sky at your own peril. I have read each and every complaint against and I TOTALLY agree with all the poor suckers who are suffering just like me. Their promotional ads are a total are a total Bull ###. There is absolutely no Jinga La La at all except hair splitting agony. They promise you a lot and once they have suckered you into buying a Rs.3000 digicom they start discontinuing channels one by one (they say they have a right to as per their terms and conditions).

They even have the gaul to say that they have added new channels like the Kashmiri entertainment channel/Nepali channel which they say are more in demand than discontinued channels like Zee sports, Neo sports, Zee premiere and Zee classic.

They do not have a policy of offering refund and you are stuck with the digicom which is otherwise a useless piece of junk.

They claim they are part of Star and a new channel like Star cricket is not broadcast by them. Their ### call center employees say "channels are selected on basis of priority" and cricket in india is not a priority according to them.

Last but not least be warned that the digicoms are of very inferior quality. you have to go through a process of discontinuing all the cable and plugging them back on every time there is a malfunction, which is often.

Pls help in signing this online petition http://www.petitiononline.com/tatasikh/petition.html, for helping spread GODS message in getting the ETC Punjabi channel back on Tata Sky network, a DTH service provider in India, as ETC Punjabi channel relays close to 7 hours of Live Gurbani from Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, India and relaying was stopped arbitrarily by Tata Sky for commercial reasons and hurting our Religious sentiments.

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) fraudulent charges!

I have bought new connection from Tata Sky dealer from Paras Enterprises Chandigarh dated 15th June'07, dealer has charged Rs 3800 from me and said that it includes installation charges also and it is free for three months after three months I have to take recharge coupon according to any plan. After installation my connection got disconnect after seven days and was asked to deposit another Rs 1000 for installation charges . When I told them that it is already paid by me. They are now making false statement that they have given me coupon of Rs 1000 however it is not given to me neither I was guided for the same thing. I have complaint the same thing to Tata Sky Customer care on dated 01.07.07 , despite of repeated calls to them I am unable to get any solution.

NEVER ever use a credit card or online facility from TATA SKY for renewal

I was charged twice on my credit card

If it was done the same day, it is a possibility that there was a internet connectivity error

This is the fact :

I recharged for rs 500 on 6th September. i got a alert on my Digicom about the recharge

Then when i receive the credit card statement, I see two Rs500 to TATA Sky, one on 6th september 2007 and the another on 7th Sep 2007

There is a third part involved in collecting payments for TATA Sky, I am sure its them doing this.

Also on 30th september I participated in a contest through SMS. Received an alert Rs.5/- has been deducted from my account for the participation

When i received my Bill on 6th October 2007, dated 1st October 2007, I have been charged twice.

The sweet voice at the TATA SKY Helpline says, "SAAARR you must have sended twice"

This is highly stupid and a clear indication of TATA SKY doing fraud. Reason being if I had sent twice, I must have been charged twice by my Phone company too... Why are they not interested to charge me for the second SMS then? Think...

Dear TATA SKY, Please use your brains next time when you want to do a mass fraud with your customers.
Anyways TATAs are known for being honest and straight forward, but is it all gone with RATAN TATA going home?

** Any channel STOP anytime, start asking money for it.
** a logo of tata SKY comes down to screen always, interupting your view.
** As soon as you start TV, tata box hang out for 15 seconds, showing Tata sponsored advertisements.
** A eight digit number always flash, anoyying your TV views every time.
** The magnetic waves of set topbox, destroys ur Tv picture tube, complained by many users of TATA sky. came in times also.
** They manipulate recharge vouchers according to them, you cant appeal also .
** No postal address on Tata sky website, nor given by call centers, where you can lodge your complaints in written.

i am also a tatasky user in kerala.before 1 year i got my connection.unluckly there is two terrace in my home.they installed the dish in the lower terrace.at the time i asked them why cant you install it on upper terrace.they told me that it is more than enough here.from the day towards i am getting poor quality pictures when rain comes signal goes.when wind blows signal goes.i am tired of this thing and complaint not less than 50 times.to local people as well as to mumbai and chennai.the s.t.d charges of this calls are big amount because i have to hold the line for 15 to 30 minuts.and now they comes after one year and tells me i have to pay 350 rupees to get it on the upper terrace.and they changed the dish also by telling me it is damagedby charging me 600 rupees.i am fed up with all thease thing and now thinks of retire from the system but my balance is 4500 rupees and if i avoid it the balance is gone.that is the only reason why i still keeping it.these people are realy ruining the goodwill of TATA.

Hello,

The shopkeeper from whom you purchased the connection has committed a fraud with you. The amount you paid him (i.e. Rs. 3800) actually consists of STB cost Rs. 2999 + installation charges Rs. 1000. This implies that the shopkeeper has committed a fraud with you. He has taken full money from you but has not given you the Recharge coupon of Rs. 1000. Through this coupon we pay the installation charges to the company.

I had purchased connection on 6th April, 07. The shopkeeper gave me the STB + Recharge coupon of Rs. 1000. I paid him Rs. 3999. When we recharge by this coupon immediately after installation, the company deducts the installation charges from our A/c. This is the method of paying the installation charges to the company.

You can do one thing : Meet the shopkeeper & tell him to give you the recharge coupon of Rs. 1000, which he has not given you. Tell him that if he doesn't give it, then I will have to sue in the consumer's court.

Hope your problem is solved.

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) poor service!

As mentioned in the earlier complaints TATASKY is very lethargic in including channels. Since they are very strict in disconnecting the service if the period is over, then they need to show the same kind of urgency in providing the channels also. I believe that they are cheating all the public in terms of giving commitment.

The worst part is that the inability shown by them to add even the free channel to the package like Raj TV, SS music.

I had requested for disconnection of relay in one Multi room connection a week back. My subs ID is [protected] and DigiComp No.[protected].
So far six persons have phoned me and asked for the details/reasons in the matter and finally assuring that in 24 hours action will be taken on my request.

But still they have not taken any action. Fed up with their poor service. The staff members mostly talk in Hindi in a feeble voice and it becomes difficult for us. Tatt Sky may try to improve the customer service.

The sales executive convinced me with their new scheme, if we purchase 1 mobile with tata connection, we will get one tatawalky absolutely free so I order for the mobile. But I received two tata walky instead of mobile which he promised me to be delivered within 3 days after receiving tata walky. I have spoken to the customer care several times to disconnect both the walky but they said they cant disconnect both at one time. I order for want of mobile, which I didn't received instead I have to paid bills for both the tata walky which the sales executive promised that It will be free of cost where I have to pay for the mobile only. I hope they should take necessary action regarding this. Its bad reputation for the Company.

TATA SKY has a brand name and thats the reason why so many people have been mislead into buying it. I think it is the biggest trap to fall into. Due to the thundershowers and rain the tata sky box had stopped functioning and till today 1.e the 3rd day no one has come to see it nor have i received any call. The call center is in utter chaos and different timings regarding the technician's visit was given to me when inquired. This shows how poor their customer service is other than missing programs the TV has also got affected. I want to know who is going to take responsibility for all this.

Booked two digicomp for my house through helpline on saturday. At the time of booking these fellows told me that wait period for getting the hardware is 72 hrs. After contacting the helpline now they say I'd get the digicomp after 7 working days. Saturday and sunday being the holiday, they will consider my order from monday. In that case I'll get the hardware after 10 days. Now I canceled the order. I'll get my back in 15 days. Now I think I made a mistake by booking through helpline. It is better to get the hardware through local dealer because they'll always be interested in their customers not in the helpline customers.

I have complaint so many times to tata sky regarding "No signal" problem, attended so many times but no solution. Whenever there is a change in weather... tata sky can't work and this is tata sky's technological problem. In rainy season i have lost at lease 6-8 hrs daily on no signal issue and still tata sky people not accepting there draw back. What to do. I want to make aware of this things to whole India...

I did a big mistake of beleiving on helpline sales boy(named Ankit, ref. call no-1-[protected]) and bought new HD set up box.He have given me wrong commitment and product info.He have just informed me about the HD cost but not informed me about the monthly charge to view the HD channels and also the hidden cost of installation cost for the cable as he said installation is free but hide the cost involved for the cable.Now I am asking either replace this HD box with the simple box or waive the monthly charge for HD channels.But they are not agree to both the condition.They are now saying that we cannot take back the HD box also and not waive the HD Gold Pack charge also. The helpline employee(named Varun, ref. call no-1-[protected]) are even very rude and arrogant as if now I have paid the money to buy the HD box so I dont have anyother option left behind and the ball is in their hand.
This is the trade practice they are using.I would not suggest any body to go for Tata sky and specially Tata HD setup box as there is nothing great about it and you have to pay more for this also without any reason and huge difference.All is same.

I have a complaint SR 198 - Type Trouble Ticket has been raised on [protected]. My reference no. is [protected] on 25/10/10 at 11:31:44 AM. But the complaint has been closed at 02:50:59 PM for some unknown reason.The walky has been purchased on 04/09/10. Moreover when I try to customercare the computerised voice ended in halfway. I'm astonished thinking that is it TATA CARE ? My Mobile No. is [protected]. If there is any solution please SMS me if possible.

I am a Tatasky customer since 2 years. I am very much pleased towards quality of picture and service offered.But in your package offered, some chhanels are not totally used by us. I need some useful chhanels specified as per personal interest. So please introduce a system to see the specified chhanels as per customer choice, we are prepared to pay the package charge.Actually we need 5 to 10 chhanels for entertainment at our home, but unnecessarily paying money for unwanted so many chhanels.If it is technically possible, please introduce the new device, by means of which your tatasky will be widely accpted.

At around 7:45 p.m. on 10th Mar’10, while I switched-on TV and pressed channel 123 to see ‘COLORS’, I was greeted with the message that the ‘Life Style Gold’ is not accessible and my account needs to be charged. While I was surprised to read that since I had charged my account with Rs.300/- in recent past, on 20th Feb’10, I decided to credit some more money as my wife was keen to see the programme. Due to a laborious and irritating process through the recorded messages, I finally succeeded in accessing to ‘COLORS’ after making 2 STD calls to [protected] and 2 SMS to 56633. These have costed me Rs.19+6=Rs.25/- as per my airtel mobile bill dt. 04th Apr’10.
It may be seen from above, that the re-charging on 10/03/10 was not called for and I have been compelled to make it due to a technical fault as admitted by your supervisor Mr. Rakesh during my conversation on 12/03/10. Besides the harassment and wastage of time, it has costed me Rs.25/- due to none of my choice and may therefore be reimbursed.

I paid TATA SKY subscrition through credit card.I wastold that I won a lucky prize of a wristwatch costingRs3850.T o get the wristatch I HAVE TO PAY ONLY RS499.Accordingly an amount of Rs499 was deducted throgh credit card.I GOT THE WRITCH FROM COMPACT INTERNATIONAL.The actual price is onlyRs433.56 only as shwon in the invoice sent by the company.This is outright cheating byTATASKY.WHAT

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) faults & problems

After a lot of Salesmanship & persuasions from your Marketing guys, I finally decided to invest in 3 Tata Sky Connections. That time your staff told me that my life would change after that. We then bought the 3 Connections & our Lives turned to WORSE after that due to several Faults & Problems in your systems.

First of all let me tell you what I was PROMISED:

1) World Class Sat TV Service
2) 24 Hrs Help Available
3) My Life will become Jhinga Lala
4) All my Cable TV Problems (3Connections) be over.
5) 24 Hrs Clear Digital Reception- NO DISRUPTION, Guaranteed.

We were quite impressed with the Promises & we disconnected our 3 Cable Connections & invested in 3 Tata Sky Connections. But alas from the very

Second Day The TRAUMA & TENSIONS started as Follows:

1) The Installer did not fix the Dish/Antenna on our Roof Properly, so the Pictures started distorting. We called your Help Line, but they could not sort the Problem on Phone, so we had to wait till next day for your mechanic to come & rectify the fault. So 24 Hours without Tata Sky.

2) Whenever there is a Medium breeze blowing or even a slight drizzle or the start of Rain, all the Channels start getting distorted. Again we call up your help line several times for this peculiar problem, but they could not help. They kept on telling us to check the Signal Strength, take out the Digi Card & put it back again after switching off the TV for a few minutes, etc. Oooofh! What a waste of Time & Energy! Two of your Executives even accepted that this Problem is there in Tata Sky that whenever the Rain Starts or a strong Breeze starts, the TV Pictures get distorted. Shocking isn't it?

3) The WORST is yet to come. Continuously All thru 24 Hours some kind of Coded Labels/Stickers keep appearing on the Screen of all our TV's. Some of the Labels are: [protected], 000CC966, [protected], 000.508.5179-9, [protected], etc.

These Labels/Stickers keep appearing at all crucial places on the Screen, sometimes blocking an important part of the Screen. Eg: (a) A question is asked by the Quiz Master and as soon as the answer appears on the screen, the Label blocks a part of the answer for No Rhyme or Reason. (b) A beautiful Lady/actress is dancing in one of the Channel programmes, suddenly one of the Labels appear on her face or Chest, spoiling the scene for the Viewers. It's really disgusting at Times, when you are watching Intensely. On Calling up your Help line they showed their inability to rectify this, as it was Signal Testing/Piracy test going on & it comes from Chennai. Sir, why so many different kinds of Labels, so many times- virtually thru the day & night to Test your Signals etc? And why are these Labels coming in or around the Centre of the Screen? If you want to check your signal or piracy etc-then do it on the 4 corners of the Screen & not in the Centre areas PLEASE.

4) My old Mother aged about 80 years is so much fed up with these problems that she has removed the Sky TV cable & restored her old Cable TV connection. She could not cope up with your so-called Modern Technology hazards creating Depression & Anxiety faced during Prime Time Viewing. She has asked me to convey to you that you should inform your Customers of these Shortcomings before they take your Connections -IF ONE WANTS TATA SKY CONNECTION THEN HE SHOULD NOT ALLOW RAIN OR STRONG BREEZE TO COME NEAR HIS/HER HOUSE, HE SHOULD BE READY TO WAIT FOR 24 HOURS TILL HELP COMES TO RECTIFY THE DEFECTS, HE SHOULD ENJOY THE DIFFERENT LABELS & STICKERS APPEARING ON THE TV SCREEN AS A PART OF ENTERTAINMENT, HE SHOULD NOT DESERVE HIS FAVOURITE CHANNELS LIKE SAHARA SAMAY, ZOOM ETC. HE SHOULD ALSO HAVE A CABLE CONNECTION AS STAND BY EVERY TIME THE TATA SKY GIVES PROBLEMS & FINALLY, TATA SKY IS MEANT ONLY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE NOT OLDIES.

5) Though promised but you have yet not installed favorite Channels like- Zoom, Sahara Samay, CTVN, Taaza TV, etc which are very popular in this part of the Country-maybe not in Chennai. We are still waiting in the Sea of HOPE as promised by your Executives & agents.

6) Even Yesterday your Signals went off Three Times during the Day including at 12 Noon & 3 pm and restored after app 10-20 mts each time. In fact we rushed to our Mothers TV as she was watching her Cable connection, which was clear.

I am a heart patient suffering from severe cervical Spondilitis & I am really fed up on these Shortcomings of yours. So I approach you to take Immediate Action as follows:

A) Please Stop displaying your Signal Stickers/Labels anywhere on the Screen, except on the Corners.
B) Rectify the fault of Distortions due to Rain/ Strong Breeze problems.
C) Include the Favorite Channels like ZOOM, Sahara Samay, CTVN, Taaza TV etc. Failing which please disconnect my Tata Sky Connections & Refund me the Entire Money.

I had Full faith in all Tata Companies as I myself worked with them for 15 Long years, but today I am loosing Faith & Confidence in this new Venture – Tata Sky. I am sure Mr. Rattan Tata is not aware of these Shortcomings otherwise he would not have tolerated these Nuisances. There are many others who are facing these problems but they choose not to complain now, but they will surely do it later when they get fed up and then you will face the problem of eroding your Customer Base. You have a tough competition & you must provide Best of Services to retain your Market Share. Please do Respond with Corrective Action taken as I am interested in YOUR Prosperity & Image, being an ex TATA Employee. Some of the Complaint Nos are: 1-[protected].27/5, [protected], 1-[protected] etc. Surprisingly These Complaint Nos do not follow any Pattern & are not systematic. Never use this company for getting your DTH service. They absolutely have no sense of customer service. Extremely frustrating experience and absolutely no respect or basic understanding of customer service.

I am sad to say that Tata Sky is a very disappointing service provided. I have had a terrible experience and will rethink taking any service or product from Tata. The DTH providing service is extremely poor and as a potential customer, I have been taken for a ride. It is unfortunate that a company like Tata fails terribly in providing the service for their customer. I would warn all other customers to think before they choose Tata sky.

Tata sky si a fake company, they dont even have an office in delhi. If you face aany prob, everytime they used to issue you with a new complaint number for the same existing problem, no one is rteady to listen anything in co. The staff was not trained enough to understand anything.

I have requested for relocation of my box and it took approx ten days for them to come and fix the dish. For the same problem i have 6 complaint id.

If u r planning for set top box, then pls dont everrrr go for tata sky. Even if they offer you free subscription... Many of the tata sky eng numbers are out of service

Dear Sir,
I am a TATA Sky user. Due to some technical problem I am not getting the signal properly and I am unable to watch my TV. The problem started from 08-09-2011. I have informed the operator on 09-09-2011. He came and said that the antenna should be shifted to another place and he will come on 10-09-2011 early in the morning. I had 2 Tata SKY SD connections. I asked them to set up 2 TATA SKY+ HD for these. The local dealer arranged for 2 boxes and sent the TATA SKY personnel to set them up on the 1st March.

The 1st set top box set-up without any issues. Now the 2nd box was not able to download the software so they took it back. No issues till now.

Now start the problems.

The 1 new set top box asked me for a re-charge. HUH!

Why? Because the service persons/dealers persons had created another Cust ID and issued the 2 NEW +HD boxes. There was an annual recharge (done about 4-5 days back only) existing on my old ID and also a 1700/- balance (as I had 2 sets running). I did not recharge it, and in fact called up TATA Sky call center with the problem.

They, After verification of the 2 CUSTOMER IDs told me that they could see that one of the box installations was still pending, and they would merge the new Cust. ID with the old one, once this box was set up fully.

This setup was done on 3rd Feb. This time the service staff at Ajmer got the box issued in my old ID only.

I put in a request giving all the relevant details. The Customer Care also gave me an assurance that they would do the needful and I would get a CALL back from the relevant office to complete the process within 24 hours. They issued me a service request no. 1-[protected] saying that they will get back to me by 16:14:42 on 04-03-2011. (WOW! for the exact time).

Now, no one contacted me, and I contacted their HELPLINE nos. again. This time the lady told me that she is putting a mail to Bangalore/Hyderabad and asking the relevant department to co-ordinate with me at the earliest. She was sure that they would call back within a few hours.

They have such a funny system of disconnecting the TOLL FREE call after 7 minutes automatically. I was disconnected 4 times, explaining my problem every time to a new person, as I was also not able to get through to their regular nos. (non-TOLL FREE).

The +HD box has to be recharged in 3 days. This set stopped functioning on the 5th morning. On calling up the local office and Customer care they assured me that they will clear the problem at the earliest.

Finally in the evening of 5th, I got through the paid no. and had a long chat 1st with the person on the line, and then with their supervisor. They assured me that The problem would be resolved by Monday. I told them that I was returning all the sets and was now contemplating taking them to Consumer court, as they were out to cheat me. Even the dealer was after them to clear this up at the earliest. I asked them to put up my problem again to the relevant persons, along with my threat to return the boxes and ask for a full refund. They gave me a new request no. 1-[protected] with assurance that it would be cleared within 24 hours.

Now today is Monday 7th March night and STILL no call back. The dealer is finally resigned that the installed boxes (Both the functioning one and the non functioning one) are all coming back to him, and he will have to give me a refund.

Is TATA stupid? Or do they have an It does not matter to us attitude?

What do I do? return the sets, and let the dealer (Who is also my elder cousin) fight it out with the company? He is resigned to anything, and has had enough discussions with the TATA Sky executives, to no avail. :mad:

Your customer service department is extremely poor. I am not getting any signal in any channel since last six months . In spite of lodgement of complaint in your customer service department but nobody pays heed to my complaint. I have been extremely hurt by the behaviour of the concerned person in the customer service dept.In my residence there are two connectivity lines of TATA SKY. My TATA SKY Id [protected] with my registered mob.no.[protected]. If such type of customer service continues i have no other option other than to surrender TATA SKY connectivity. Please treat it most urgently & also expedite the matter so as to resume the normal service.

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) no available channels!

Being the Customers of the new Tata Sky we were very proud. While there is no complaint against video and audio quality of tatasky, we still have something serious to complain about Tata Sky.

At the time of the connection they have promised to provide all Star channels as well as Zee Channels. We have been subscribing to Jumbo Super Saver Pack of Rs. 300 per month in which we are entitled to get all channels.

But unfortunately now they have disconnected several zee channels including regional channels of zee. Even Neo Sports has also been removed. Please note that Neo Sports is the official Broadcasting TV Channels for telecasting Cricket Matches of BCCI.

But surprising to note is that all these channels including star channels are available in Dish TV and that's for a cheaper price. So this will be a serious discrimination against viewers like us by the TATA SKY.

If zee TV can remove its channels from tata sky, then why can't star remove its channels from dish tv. See the thing is we want to get all the channels in our Tata sky. Because at the time of offering the connection they have offered us that they will be giving all the star channels as well as zee channels. Anyway now they may tell us to give written proof for that :(

So whatever the problem they should clear that problem and it is their duty to provide all channels.

2. Being the Kannada speakers; generally we would like to watch Kannada regional channels. But unfortunately only two Kannada channels are available for us. Now even Zee Kannada has been removed. They can't even provide TV9 Kannada News channel which is free. Further they are also not providing free channels like sahara manoranjan, sahara news (Hindi and English) Maharishi Veda Vision, Jain TV etc.

I agree with you mridula. Tata Sky is a pan india service provider so it will be very difficult for them to have all regional channels. Cable tv operators operate locally so they can have the privilege of adding all these local channels.

As far as Regional channels are concerned Tata sky does have all channels but not all channels of a specific region. They have provided all the channels popular with the mass. the ones that are left out are not so popular. besides everyone is aware of the channels they provide then whats the point of complain later.

Everying is not in the hands of Tata Sky. Zee channels are in the hands of Zee corp. Tata Sky has recently added Zee Tamil and Zee Telugu. It has also added many tamil channels and will add more in the future. Also, no DTH provider or even cable provider gives ALL the channels. When you bought the package, you knew what channels you were getting. So your complaint is not fair.

I completely agree with this. Intial subsciption had more channales and once when i renewed my subscitpiton the number of channels dropped. I dont understand whats the harm for Tata sky to provide the free channels available. Also there is a lot of discrimination for regional channels, though i am subsrcibing from Banagalore i get to see only 4 Kannada channels in the name of regional channels. South pacakge has full of Tamil and Telgu channels thats it. Even the free local Kannada channels are not provided. Other than the audio and video quality there is nothing that great of tata sky. What is the use of this great quality when we dont get to watch e channels we want at reasonable price? Its better to get back to cabel wallas atlest you get to see all the local and regional channels along with sports channels without increasing the monthly rentals.

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) disconnection of channels

Tata Sky has reduced the no. of channels provided during the time of installation. Specially Zee Classics. Etc, Z premier and other entertainment channels. As a customer it is our right to reduce the monthly subscription if all channels provided at the time of time of installation are not given.

My tata sky id is [protected] and I am not receiving signal from 6.00 pm onwards today. Neither it is cloudy nor raining outside and I have checked all the wires and all are perfectly connected. I am calling customer care but not getting connected.
Pls look into the matter and solve the issue asap.

We have been paying so much to Tata Sky and still I am not able to get to watch my subscribed programs like Sony channel. Tata Sky is just a fraud and cheater and its services are getting degraded day-by-day. It was my mistake switching from Reliance to Tata Sky and I think I should disconnect Tata Sky .

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) very very poor customer service!

I have shifted my residence and I sent a fax three days back to tata sky requesting for reinstallation of dish at my new residence. But till now no one has turned up, they even not bothered to call me at least. I have called their ### call center thrice, they keep on telling "you will get a call from Bangalore office to fix up an appointment". But nothing happened so far. I have never seen this kind of ridiculous customer care. This is really bull s**t.

I HAD TAKEN A MULTI CONNECTION SET UP, TATA SKY SENT SOME TECHNICIAN HOME, THIS PERSON INTALLED 2 HD BOXES AND TOOK RS6240 FROM US, BUT HE ACTIVATED ONLY 1 BOX.
wHENEVER I CALL THE SUPPORT THEY SAY THE OTHER BOX IS IN PENDING STATUS, THEY DONT HAVE THE DETAILS OF THE TECHNICIAN WHOM THEY SENT WHOM.
The technician has ran away with my money.
The worst customer care support from tata sky and sending fraud technicians home.
No ethics on how to behave with the customer

Most humbly and Respectfully, I wish to inform
you that on my Tata sky
subscriber id [protected]. I am frequently facing Picture frizzing
problem, poor/dull picture quality, indicator issue in set top box,
low signal and strength quality also from more that 50 days and from
20 June, 2014 facing screen blue issue and still persisting. I am
unable to watch television from 20 June, 2014. Few Tata sky work order
number is - DS0DQ99, DETOPB3, DLSIOLW, and DMLPE6N.

On the other hand I also want to draw your kind attention towards Tata
sky Installer Behavior and service center manager behavior with me. On
22 Jan, 2013 Tata sky service center manager behaved very cheaply and
giving me threatening at that time in bad manners. On 1st Feb, 2014
Tata sky disconnected my connection without any notification for 2-3 days.
On 26 Feb, 2014 your installer named Ganesh Baraik behaved rudely and
says abusive language to me. On dated 11 June, 2014 Tata sky installer
named Gauri Shankar told me that we simply rectified your issue but you
have informed higher authority of Tata sky. On 1st Feb, 2014 Tata sky
disconnected my connection without any notification for 3 days. Regarding
all these issue I have also informed timely to Tata sky service In-charge
named (Mr.Janardan) in Ranch, Jharkhand but no improvement and as it is
still persist.

On 19 June, 2014 I got a call at Tata sky end from [protected] and
told me that we will charge Rs.150 for visit and your set box will not
covered warranty but sir my Tata sky connection is in annual service
commitment and on Tata sky official site very clearly mentioned that
set top box will cover in ASC and no visit charges also. This is
clearly showing that Tata sky is not following his policy and making
full to public.

These all clearly showing that how Tata sky services is extremely
cheap and worst. Field executive officer of Tata sky behavior is worst
whose name is mentioned above.

Therefore, I kindly request you to take extremely against M/s Tata Sky
Ltd. and provide me compensation of Rs.1500 for all such activates,
Mental Harassment which happened with me and refund of whole Tata sky
connection including subscription. For this I will be highly great
full to you from bottom of my Heart.

I have made repetitive installation requests however there is one standard scripted reply stating that there is a local cable operator issue and the installation will be done in 8 days. This is a standard reply I am getting for last month for the Subscription taken in month of September. Unfortunately whenever you call TATA Sky Customer Service desk the call automatically gets disconnected with 5 minutes stating "Maximum Call Duration reached". I have spoken to almost all Supervisors but none of them have been able to provide any support. Need help.

We purchased 1+2 connection in mid July'07. It is not yet 6 weeks and one remote needed replacement, one set top box has gone bonkers for which tatas insist upon Rs. 300/- as service charge. Two other remotes behave whimsical, two other set top boxes often hang, their service team behaves like Hitler and We feel cheated.

New Tata sky comedy channel no 102 is bull ###, who is running this channel total waste of time watching this channel, I actually added it assuming it may be gud but no use not proper characters, programs comedy scenes are totally waste so irritating .. Please stop this channel and maintain your reputation Tata sky was better before. STOP 102 channel or else improve it .

I also have a Tata Sky connection for my TV, and I have connected the chassis of the TV set top box to the mains earthing through a 500mA glass fuse in it, s fuse holder and I do not have any problem with the TV reception. You can try this at home or better by telling an electrician to do it. Rest I reccomend the Tata Sky group to put a 47-100pf(250volts) ceramic capacitor from the signal ground to chassis ground(mains earth), the ceramic capacitor passes all the RF noise and leakage currents to the ground. I took a Tata sky pack last month, for my second recharging the toll free number was engaged always, the rest all numbers are not toll free and its so funny thing is that the IVR have lot of other things to tell u b4 it reaches the recharging option and if u r lucky u may get a chance to enter ur big prepaid secret number, most probably u have to wait there...

In short my experience last month was I had to call four times(each time waiting for n number of mints) spending 100 rs in my mobile to recharge a 300 rupee prepaid card... I was fed up of this... and I took a local cable connection.. From next month most probably I will use the dish to dry cloths in my terrace :). Expensive dryer, think once more before taking any of TATA services... Most of them are use for a month and throw away...

Tata Play (formerly Tata Sky) defective service

Service not available since 15th February 2007. Repeated complaints (spending hundreds of Rupees on STD calls) to their call centre has yielded no results. 6 emails sent to them have gone unanswered. What a poor service!

I have paid on 21st Mar INR 440 on 27th Mar.
Again message is coming that pay INR 475 today to avoid disconnect.
Filling some one stolen my money. Reputation of Tata's are under question.
