Patient Relations is not there to assist patients. Just recently a number of TGMG doctors changed locations, with no regard for their patients. I am assuming this put a burden on the physicians and their families as well. Tampa General Medical Group patient care is declining. Be aware that if one provider decides they don't want to continue to provide quality care, attempts will be made to block everything, putting complex patients in harms way. Not that anyone cares. John Couris and his team is aware of this. Doctor burnout seems to be taking its toll, amazing given some of their salaries.
I had an amazing primary but she changed into just an itinerary specialist. Handing out referrals, no longer providing care. She said her taking this job would not affect my care. It did drastically. I believe she is struggling personally, thus not a true reflection of me. Last year, several specialist and ER doctors, repeatedly stated the issue was my TGMG PCP. TGMG office staff is not properly trained. Office managers, administrators and upper management don't care to provide conflict resolution. Care and compassion what a novel idea.
Note I still remember giving an appreciation gift to this provider. She told me she showed it to 3 individuals pointing out that someone appreciated what she did. I guess the issue I missed was that I wasn't appreciated.
Recommendation: Seek care where patients matter all the way up to the top. A place that cares about the mental and physical health of its employees. Administrators that care about the patients.
