Grandview Medical Center I walked in and told them I was in a lot of pain and felt sick

I walked in and told them I was in a lot of pain and felt sick. The lady at the desk just looked at my son and asked him to sign me in. I went to the trash can and threw up a few times, but she didn't do anything. When they called me in, the doctor came in pretty fast. The shoulder I fell on was already hurt, and the muscle that goes from the shoulder to the top of my back was sore. So, the doctor put me in a collar. I get bad headaches from the nerve in my neck, so I told one of the nurses that being in that position would give me one of those headaches because it was starting to hurt. They sent in a rude guy who yelled at me like I couldn't hear. I told him he didn't need to yell, but he kept yelling and said he wouldn't take off the collar. I told him to leave my room, so I took it off myself. I also told them I have adrenal insufficiency, and one nurse laughed. I think I should get more hydrocortisone after any kind of injury, but they ignored me completely. Another nurse came in and asked what happened, but she quickly and rudely told me to get to the point. She was trying to start an IV but couldn't find a vein. I told her it might be because I was cold and a little dehydrated. She said, "No way, you can't be dehydrated that fast." She had no idea what I had eaten or drunk in the past few days or that I had thrown up multiple times in the waiting room. She sent someone else in, but they couldn't find a vein either. The X-ray technician was very nice. The lady who put on my blood pressure cuff made it so tight that it left a mark. It seemed like the different sets of nurses didn't communicate with each other. I probably won't come back to Grandview after that experience, and I don't think anyone else should either. They are rude and don't listen to their patients or take them seriously.

Grandview Medical Center On 28 Dec 2021, I got admitted to Grandview Medical Center due to stomach pain caused by a hepatic Anuresym

On 28 Dec 2021, I got admitted to Grandview Medical Center due to stomach pain caused by a hepatic Anuresym. After a few hours, I was taken to the operating room for an angiogram. Four hours later, I was brought back to my room where my fiancé and I informed two nurses about my numbness and slurring. Unfortunately, they didn't pay much attention to our concerns. Around 10 o'clock, my fiancé left, but I continued to inform the nurses throughout the night about my symptoms and the fact that I couldn't feel or move my left side. However, they continued to ignore me until the morning shift when a stroke alert was called. I was rushed down to CT where it was confirmed that I had indeed suffered a stroke. We decided to file a complaint through the patient advocate, but we feel like our complaints weren't taken seriously. As a result of the stroke, I now have deficits, and I'm uncertain about how long these deficits will last.

Grandview Medical Center I had some serious issues with Grandview Medical Center, specifically with their Neurology department

I had some serious issues with Grandview Medical Center, specifically with their Neurology department. I paid a hefty sum of $256 to see a neurologist named *** from Affinity Physician Services LLC. Let me tell you, this doctor was not helpful at all.

First of all, he wasted a lot of time with irrelevant small talk. I mean, come on, I was there to discuss my injury, not to chat about the weather. When I finally managed to steer the conversation towards my actual problem, he seemed offended. Can you believe it?

I showed him all the evidence I had, including X-Rays, CT scans, and MRIs that clearly showed a piece of bone had broken off the underside of my skull. But guess what? He said there were no injuries or abnormalities present. I even showed him a CT picture from a few days earlier that clearly showed a CSF Leak, infection, and a hole in the bottom of my skull. It was obvious that I had suffered some serious head trauma. But instead of taking it seriously, he asked me what "THEY" said it was. Seriously, shouldn't he be the expert here?

To make matters worse, he suggested that my problem was all in my head. He wrote in my records that I was exhibiting abnormal behavior, completely ignoring the fact that I had a chronic infection in my neck and was literally dying at that point. He didn't give me any medicine, didn't refer me to another specialist, and worst of all, he misdiagnosed me. This wrong diagnosis had a negative impact on how other medical professionals viewed my injury.

Overall, my experience with Grandview Medical Center's Neurology department was a complete disaster. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Grandview Medical Center On December 4th, my dad went to Grandview Medical Center because he had a tummy ache

On December 4th, my dad went to Grandview Medical Center because he had a tummy ache. But on December 6th, 2022, he passed away. We did all the right things with the funeral people, who started the death certificate process. They told us it might take up to 6 weeks to get the death certificate, so we knew we had to be patient. When we started dealing with the lawyer for the legal stuff, they asked for a copy of the death certificate. But we didn't have it. So we called the funeral home and they said that Grandview Hospital hadn't finished the medical part of the death certificate application. We called Grandview, but they said they didn't have any record of my dad being a patient, even though his regular doctors worked there. Finally, they found the paperwork and said they were gonna do it right away. But two more weeks went by and it still wasn't done. When we finally talked to someone in the records department, they said they were waiting for the doctor to do something. A few days later, they promised it would be done that day and sent to the funeral home overnight. But it still wasn't. When we called the records department again, they said the doctor had signed the document but forgot to fill in a couple of boxes. Now they're saying they have to wait for the doctor to do it. As far as I know, Alabama law says they're supposed to finish this within 48 hours. But it's been almost 6 weeks since my dad died and they still haven't followed that law.

Grandview Medical Center On 5/26/2022, I went for my yearly check-up at Grandview Medical Center

On 5/26/2022, I went for my yearly check-up at Grandview Medical Center. Since then, I keep getting the same bills from that appointment without any adjustments for insurance. When I got the bill without adjustments, I called the customer support line on my insurance card. My insurance company told me that the bill was never adjusted because it was sent to the wrong claims address. I called Grandview's customer support line and let them know about this. The person I spoke to said they would resend the bills to the correct claims address.

A few months later, I once again received the same bills without any adjustments for insurance. I called Grandview's customer support line again, and the representative said they could see a record of my last call and what was discussed. They told me that the bills were never sent to the correct address as we had previously discussed, but they would be sent correctly this time. I thought the billing issue was finally resolved.

Now, I have received the same bill *** # *** for the third time. Once again, the bill has no adjustments for insurance and says "incurred after terminated coverage." I had active insurance coverage when I received the service, and I still have active health insurance. The reason it shows as terminated coverage is because it is being sent to a claims address that has no record of my insurance, which makes sense because it's the wrong claims address.

I don't know who else to contact to make sure my health insurance is used for my medical care. No other medical provider has had this issue. It seems like Grandview is just hoping I give up on using my health insurance and pay the full price.

Grandview Medical Center I had surgery at Grandview on 11/4

I had surgery at Grandview on 11/4. I received a bill after Thanksgiving for $249.79. According to the billing statement, you can set up payment options and enroll in an affordable payment plan if you need more time. On Dec 21, I went online to set up the payment plan. Nowhere on the statement does it state that you'll be reported to collections for failure to pay in full. When I read the back of the statement, it says, "Payment in full is required at the time of service from all patients who owe co-pays, coinsurance, have not met their deductible..." So, on Dec 23, I called to inquire about what I didn't satisfy and left a message about the bill. I still haven't received a return phone call. The next January statement drops, and to my surprise, I get two notices. One states, "This is your final notice," and the other states, "Your account is now past due." I've set up a payment plan and see it withdrawing from my account via their online service. On Jan 27, I called again and left another message to inquire about the status of my account and if I'm in collections, even though I have a payment plan. I also asked about any outstanding debts that I didn't satisfy based on the original services. Still, no returned call. Then, at 8:30 on 2/21/22, I receive a call from a collection agency. This is the first call I have received, even though I left several messages with Grandview. When the person on the line tried to inform me that it was a recorded call, I expressed my feelings about her calling, me being in collections, this being the first call I received, and my concerns with the billing. I also want to remind you that my balance is now $149.87, and it's continuing on autopay. I need some explanation. Grandview should update their payment notice to clearly state that you'll be in collections for payment arrangements, return phone calls on customer inquiries, and follow up to explain charges. This is ridiculous to have a procedure and have the billers make it impossible to resolve. I've never seen anything like this before and wonder how many people this happens to. Just think, if I didn't continue to receive paper statements, I would have no clue.

Grandview Medical Center I became a patient at Grandview Medical Center for the first time in March

I became a patient at Grandview Medical Center for the first time in March . I haven't had any problems, but I have a concern. Yesterday, I received an email stating that they credited my account. So, I called Grandview Hospital to inquire about it. I spoke with administration and explained what the email said. They advised me to contact the different doctors I have seen. I called my surgeon and my medical doctor, but they had no knowledge of this credit. I feel like my information has been hacked because they had all my account details, including the last four digits of my debit card. They claimed to have refunded $25.00 to my debit card on June 17. However, when I called the bank, they had no record of any refund to my card. Additionally, I called the number provided in the email (XXX-XXX-XXXX - CBO) along with the merchant I.D. It also mentioned a record number (# XXXXXX) and a trace number (XXXXX). It stated that the transaction was a credit, dated X-XX-XXXX at 8:58, and the type was VISA. Next to that, it listed my last four card digits (3571) and my name (***), followed by my patient identification number (XXXXXX). Nobody can explain what is happening. When I visited the doctor on June 12, I didn't need to pay a co-pay. Therefore, I believe my information has been hacked, and I would like you to investigate this matter. They might use my debit card for unauthorized purposes. So far, I haven't noticed any fraudulent activity, but it's concerning that they would lie about having a credit on my account when it's not true at all. I feel like this could be part of a larger scam, and patients at Grandview Hospital should be aware of this potential hacking. I would like the $25.00 to be refunded to my account, and I believe more should be done since this involves Grandview Hospital. I feel that someone who works for Grandview knows what's going on.

Grandview Medical Center I went to Grandview Medical Center on January 7, 2022 for two scheduled MRI's

I went to Grandview Medical Center on January 7, 2022 for two scheduled MRI's. They asked me to pay my $233 Medicare deductable. I told them I already had two doctor's appointments on January 5, 2022 and a medical procedure on January 6, 2022, and those providers were supposed to cover the deductable. The Grandview person said Medicare showed the deductable hadn't been paid. I told them maybe the bill hadn't been sent yet or the system hadn't updated. But I still had to pay the deductable right then if I wanted to proceed with the MRI. (I was in a lot of pain and couldn't delay the MRI.) Last week (Week of March 7, 2022), I got bills from the two doctors I saw on January 5, 2022, for $89.30 and $143.70, which adds up to $233, the deductable amount. I called Grandview Billing Office on March 8th and again on March 11th. They admitted they owed me a refund but said it would take four to eight weeks to process. I told them I needed the money to pay the doctors who were actually owed the money, like I explained on January 7th when I got the service. I offered to go to their office to get the refund, but they said that's not possible. One of the bills from January 5, 2022, is marked as 30-89 days overdue, and the other bill is also overdue. Late payment will hurt my credit and could lead to the bills being sent to collections. I expect Grandview to follow the same rules they expect from patients. They owe me $233 that they're holding onto. I want a full refund of $233 by 12:00 pm CDT on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. If they refund me with a check or something else I can use, it should be easy to cash and the funds should be available right away. I don't have any documents from Grandview Hospital. I'll send separate bank records showing that I paid $233 to Grandview on January 7th, and bills from the two doctors that add up to $233 for services on January 5, 2022. I already submitted my complaint (about 30 minutes ago), but I couldn't upload the supporting documents from the device I was using. Please consider this submission as an addition to Claim Number ***. As mentioned in the original complaint, I have documents like my Wells Fargo Bank record showing the $233 payment to Grandview Medical Center on January 7, 2022, and bills from two doctors for $89.30 and $143.70, which adds up to $233, and the Medicare Summary Notice showing that I met my $233 deductible for 2022.
