To Whom It May Concern,
I am submitting a formal complaint regarding Straight Talk’s handling of my mobile account, which appears to be compromised. I have been the lawful owner of this phone number for over ten years, yet Straight Talk has informed me that both the email address and security PIN on file are incorrect and do not belong to me. This is a clear indicator of account takeover.
Despite this, Straight Talk has refused to provide any FCC‑approved alternative identity‑verification methods. I have been told that:
The email on file is incorrect
The security PIN is incorrect
Verification cannot be sent to the fraudulent email
Verification cannot be completed through the device (which I do not have access to)
The only verification option offered is confirming the “last two calls,” which is not an FCC‑recognized authentication method
Straight Talk is effectively blocking all verification paths, preventing me from correcting fraudulent Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) and regaining control of my number. This violates FCC CPNI rules and FCC 23‑95 (SIM Swap & Port‑Out Fraud Order), which require carriers to:
Provide multiple secure authentication methods
Allow customers to verify identity without relying solely on device‑based verification
Correct inaccurate or fraudulent account information
Provide accessible methods for resolving account access issues
Straight Talk’s refusal to confirm or correct fraudulent account information impedes proper investigation and reporting of identity theft.
I am a federally regulated financial professional, and I am required to escalate suspected identity compromise to my employer’s Global Security team. They will be assisting me in reporting this matter to the FCC and supporting the legal investigation. I am documenting this interaction for compliance and regulatory purposes.
I am requesting the following:
A log confirmation number for this interaction
The agent’s identification
The supervisor’s name or escalation contact
Immediate review by Straight Talk’s fraud or account security department
Correction of fraudulent CPNI information
Release of my Number Transfer PIN so I may port my number
Failure to provide accurate documentation or accessible verification impedes proper investigation of account takeover and will be included in my filings with the FCC and other regulatory bodies. Any damages resulting from Straight Talk’s failure to correct fraudulent account information will be documented through appropriate federal and legal reporting channels.
I expect a prompt response.
Sincerely,
Kali
