I went to Stor-It Self Storage LLC in Midland to check if they had any empty units. The manager was nice and helped me sign up. However, I had some issues. First, the rent was too high because of a $20 fee that I wasn't told about before. Second, their website said I didn't need insurance if I showed proof, but they still charged me for it. Third, I emailed upper management about the problems, but they got mad and canceled my contract. Fourth, they shouldn't have canceled it. Fifth, they locked me out of my unit even though I paid rent. I'm talking to lawyers about it.

I got a notice that I gotta pay for insurance through this company. I hit them up on or around December 26, 2022 to get a copy of my lease agreement. They said they ain't giving it to me 'cause it's against their company policy. I asked them what gives them the right to add on insurance without my say-so or changing my lease. They ain't got back to me yet. I wanna see my lease agreement and I ain't paying for insurance I didn't agree to. I'm also filing with the *** of *** for shady business practices.

I got a storage unit from Stor-It Self Storage LLC. A few days later, I went to put some stuff in it but couldn't get in. I called and they said they couldn't find my account even though I paid and got a code. I had to pay for another unit at a different place and they won't give me my money back. It's not fair that I paid for something and didn't get it.

We rented lots of storage units from Stor-it on Ten Mile Road for like 11 years. The last one was ***. We moved to a bigger house with more storage and decided to end our storage rental. We called Stor-it in April to check how much notice we needed to give. They said we needed 5 days and that we would get some money back for the days we didn't use. We finished moving faster than we thought and gave our 5 day notice on May 5. But then they said we couldn't get any money back for the rest of May because we already paid for it a few days ago. They said it's their policy and it's in the rental agreement from years ago. We think they didn't tell us everything in April and it's not fair.

I rented a unit on the phone from this place. They told me I'd get 5' x 6' of space, but when we got there, it was more like 4' x 5'. That's missing about 30 square feet, which is a lot in such a small space. They gave us three different stories about why the space was different. It's not right to promise one thing and then give something else. We drove across town to get there, and then found out the space wasn't enough because they misled me into paying over the phone. My girlfriend left a 1-star review, and they said they shouldn't have refunded our money, even though I never signed a contract or agreed to occupy the unit at that time. That should be against the law. There should be a standard to protect consumers in the storage unit industry. We need protection from companies that lie for money and then threaten not to refund it when they're at fault!
