So I was tryna rent a place from DECA, Inc and they took all my deets and stuff. But then they hit me up later on and said they couldn't accept my app. Like what the heck, why'd they even bother takin' my info in the first place? Waste of my time if you ask me.

This company is not good. I applied for a place to live and they took forever to get back to me. Then, when they finally did, they said I owed money to my old landlord, which is not true. I told them this, but they didn't believe me. I had to do my own research to prove them wrong. Then, they sent me a letter saying I was denied because of my credit, but that's not true either. I went to another place and they said the letter was fake. The lady I worked with, Jenny, was really mean to me and she still hasn't responded to my email. I think they don't like people of color because they treated me really badly. I've lived here for a long time and I've never had a problem like this before.

I gave DECA, Inc. $650.00 for a rental unit deposit. I left in July , but they won't give me my money back. They sent me a bill for mic repair fees I didn't know about. I didn't do anything wrong, so I shouldn't have to pay for things the owner should take care of.

DECA, Inc is a company that offers affordable housing options ranging from $20.00 to $100.00 during the summer of 2021. They claim to enable people with disabilities and those who qualify for HUD to apply for their housing options. However, I found their application fee to be outrageous, especially since I was denied due to my income, which was already verified for the property I had chosen. The decision was based on misleading information provided by a reference, which was not my fault. Unfortunately, the company has not attempted to resolve this issue. I have attached a screenshot of my tenant application, which clearly shows that my credentials are satisfactory for leasing a property, despite my C credit score, no evictions, and no criminal records.

I gave Deca property management over 6K but they still haven't made my unit in Jennings Mo ready after a month. I keep asking when it will be ready for the market and inspection, but they never give me a clear answer. I asked about my property in St Ann a month ago, but they didn't follow up with the tenant. The tenant didn't pay rent for June and left the unit, and I had to tell Deca because they didn't know. I call Deca all the time for updates, but sometimes they answer and sometimes they don't. I'm not getting my money's worth because I have to do their job and get bids from my own contractors since Deca takes so long to follow up.

I lived with Deca for 2 years and paid rent good. When I first moved in (from out of state no less) the apartment was dirty. I had to scrub everything before moving in. I even found a band aid holding a broken window pane together. After a long drive with a uhaul full of my things, this was the last thing I wanted to do. But I said nothing because the apartment was good and cheap. In this 2 year time they have been unprofessional and rude. They have ignored maintenance requests, processed maintenance requests wrong, torn apart bathroom walls to fix a leak that never stopped, and won't fix major repairs like needing a new roof, a leaking water main, and tuckpointing issues. The maintenance staff is rude too. From the office persons to the techs, they have no empathy nor people skills. They came into my apartment with no notice while my boyfriend was there for a covid quarantine. They have added maintenance requests to my neighbor's apartment instead of mine, causing interruptions in both of our days. They asked for a 36% rent increase. When I brought up all the issues to them, they said the owner was not going to fix them but the rent increase would NOT be adjusted either. I feel pressured out of my home and disrespected by this company. If the owner is the one calling the shots, why does Deca keep them as a client? Why does Deca not require the properties they manage to be safe and healthy? I feel taken advantage of because I have paid my rent good but they have not kept up their end of the bargain. I am starting to doubt the legality of this situation and am wondering if this building would even pass an occupancy inspection or if it was ever inspected in the first place.
