After a third party mechanic checked my ride, we found out it needs a camshaft gear replacement. So, we reached out to *** Toyota West and talked to ***, a service adviser. He sent us an estimate for the fix. We headed over to *** Toyota West and *** told us that they change camshaft gears all the time since it's a common issue for this make and model. So, we decided to leave the car there, but they warned us it might take a few weeks due to their busy schedule.

After a while, *** called and claimed we needed a spark plug replacement for cylinder 2 and that the oil was low. However, we had just replaced all the spark plugs, coils, injectors, and had an oil change before dropping off the vehicle at *** Toyota West, so I knew they were fibbing. Hearing this, I told them not to touch the car and rushed to pick it up because they were deceiving us. When I arrived, they insisted I pay the $141 diagnostic fee, even though their diagnosis was incorrect. Refusing to pay, I spoke to the Service manager, who agreed to reduce the fee to $74.50.

I checked the oil myself and found that it wasn't low as they claimed. I felt deceived and believe these folks are dishonest, just trying to snatch your cash. In the end, I reluctantly paid them $74.50 to retrieve my car, only to be fed more lies.

I brung my car to Stevinson Toyota West last year (2020) for a service. Just recently, I needed an oil change and went to a couple local shops in town. They told me they couldn't do it 'cause the last place I went to put the oil cap on way too tight and they couldn't get it off without breakin' it. I called the dealership many times and they said I could bring my car in to get the oil cap unscrewed and screwed on right. It's a pain for me to drive 45 minutes just to get it unscrewed when they should've done it right the first time. I couldn't take it back to that dealership, so I went to a closer Toyota dealership and they couldn't get the oil cap off without breakin' it either. Now I gotta pay $60 for a part that broke 'cause of Stevinson Toyota's carelessness.

I took my car to Stevinson Toyota service dept hopin they could fix the back window that don't open no more. After a couple hours, they called sayin they think it's an electrical problem and takin out the car alarm might fix it. I said they can uninstall the alarm. 'Cause I was runnin outta time, I had to pick up the car even though the window ain't fixed. I paid $149 for the service even though nothin got fixed. They asked if I wanna keep the alarm, but I said no. Last week, I went to *** to fix the remote-start, and they told me the Toyota folks took it out. I called *** (the manager in the service dept) and he said they ain't gonna replace or reinstall the remote start 'cause it ain't their responsibility for after-market parts. He said it's my fault for not keepin the part when they offered. Just so you know, they called it a car alarm, not a remote start. They never asked if I had a remote start. I kept askin *** to put the remote start back, but he kept sayin no. He said he'll give me a refund of $149. I was so mad, I took the refund. I got a refund for a car that ain't fixed and now needs a new remote starter. Also, the technician didn't uninstall the alarm. It keeps goin off at random times and now I gotta fix that too.
