starbucks (fontana, ca on citrus and foothill)
Beware of this starbucks when buying any type of gift card. They are notorious for not uploading gift cards, asking you if you want a receipt and then if you don't get a receipt and keep it... You're out of luck. I brought a gift card from this starbucks on 03/30/2018 for $10 that was a gift for my daughter to give her "secret pal" at school and the girl tried to use the gift card about 2 weeks later and there was no money on it. By the time my daughter found out about it, it was 3 weeks after the gift card had been purchased and I had no receipt and the card was in the possession of the person that it was brought for, so needless to say... Except for the credit card that the card was purchased with, I had nothing else. Tried to rectify with the manager, luis at the store and was told that I would have to contact the number on the back of one of my registered starbucks cards, due to the store only keep a weeks work of information. It almost sounds like a gray area found by starbucks employees where you purchase a gift card, they don't upload the money and then I wonder "where does the money you paid go?" I did contact corporate and gave the store number, which was also on my credit card statement and was told that nothing could be done unless I get the card number back from the person that the gift was purchased for. The funny thing is that a co-worker last year had brought me a gift card for starbucks after spilling my coffee at work by accident and when I tried using the card at this starbucks, I was told there was no money on it. I notified the co-worker who took the card back to be re-loaded and the co-worker brought me the card back and stated it should work now. I went to starbucks and tried the card again and was told again "there is no money on this card." this leads me to believe that they are not even loading these cards, because I took the card back to work to see about registering the card and the weird thing is that it said the card was "already registered." it's amazing how you can buy a starbucks card at a regular store and it will work without any problems, but buy a card directly from starbucks and it may not work. So now I guess i'm just out of $10 dollars unless I wait for the reveal of my daughter's secret pal even and go ask the girl for her starbucks card number. I found that neither management at the fontana store or the corporate contact were sympathetic to the situation and to them they felt it was nothing to go to a person that you by a gift card for that did not work and ask them for the gift card number. When talking with the manager I also asked him if this is something that happens often and he stated well not all the time, but it does happen. So this is an ongoing problem.
philadelphia discriminatory incident
An apology is not enough.
I have spent thousands of dollars at starbucks in my lifetime and am not that old. However, given your refusal to respond promptly by doing the right thing I understand that sadly my longterm patronage cannot continue. I am eagerly awaiting the rest of your response.
Your store manager could have dealt with this situation in several other ways than calling the police. One way would have been to announce that all customers who had not bought anything must either buy something or leave, or refrain from using the restrooms - - which would have demonstrated equitable enforcement. Your manager however egregiously chose instead to focus enforcing your policy on these two aa men, who were doing nothing but living while black.
Re-training for your manager is not warranted. Employees will continue discriminatory behaviors and practices as long as they understand that there will be no consequence to them or to their jobs. Train your staff going forward on nondiscriminatory and fair practices, and train them further that starbucks has no tolerance for any action surrounding racial discrimination or individual implicit bias.
You need to fire this manager immediately.
service at the store
I just came from the grand avenue, gaithersburg md store friday 04/13/17 at 6:00 pm. The server spoke so fast I could not follower what she was saying. Yes she was foreign yes I am not and yes I am over 30. I tolerated it and when she got my order wrong I knew she was not listening. I said with no sleeve because I believe in green. I asked for her to change 100 in the tip jar so I could leave a50 cent tip it took me three re-iterations to get her to understand. Yes each time I got more and more frustrated. An more detail in what I was asking her to do.
Finally we had a meeting of the minds. I went to get cream. The manager ran up to me and starting lecturing me on how I had no right to treat her employees like I has. Thus this e-mail. Yes this is montgomery county md but regardless non politically protected groups like mine still have rights here. The employee could have slowed down, tell me she did not understand instead of what I will describe as rambling around (the bad english) and I would not have gotten frustrated. I am a good person and always tip as well as frequent sbs. If a person has low communication skills I should not have to be chastised by the manager.
understaff location at 3901 walnut street, philadelphia, pa
I have been a customer of starbucks for several years. Normally, I frequent the 4600 city avenue location. I visited the 3901 walnut street location the evening of saturday, april 7, 2018. The establishment was understaffed. The young man behind the counter was working the register and making the coffee. The establishment was almost full to capacity. There were people waiting in line. I could not believe that the one young man was working the register and making the coffee by himself. I actually asked him was he working by himself. He stated yes. I asked him does he normally work his shift by himself. He stated yes. I told him I was going to submit a complaint about the location being understaffed and he working the register and making coffee by himself. He appeared to be appreciative that I had concern. I do not believe there is any reason why one person should be working the register, handling money, and then prepare the coffee. I believe he is being overworked.
caramel light frappuccino
I ordered a caramel light frappucino. I was surprised first that barista asked if I wanted whipped cream on it. I didn't see light onmy receipt so I asked her if it was light and she said yes. When I sampled my drink, it was very bland so much in fact that I have no idea what I received because it had very little taste at all. I didn't taste coffee or caramel. I was extremely dissatisfied.
charged my card but no coffee
Will not refund money even though I did not get the coffee I ordered! Completed my mobile order and headed to starbucks. Front door was still locked at 6:05 (supposed to open at 6am). Went to the drive through since it's freezing outside. Sat at the speaker for 2 minutes. Then pulled forward since no-one would answer. Sat at window for 5 more minutes while I watched two employees rush around inside the store, never looking my way. At 6:13 someone came to the window and started taking the order of the car behind me at the speaker. Then I started honking my horn to get their attention. I demanded they talk to me right then. I explained if my order was ready. They said in a few minutes. I explained it was too late (my daughter had to be at a school event) and I wanted to cancel my order and get a refund. They said they would refund my money. Like an [censor], I did not sit in the drive through until this happened. Now I am sitting at home and no refund. They charged my starbucks card for the coffee and have not refunded my money.
coffee
I was at pbi airport (starbucks store id pbista04) around 6:30 p.M. On 3/20/18 and ordered a medium cup of coffee. What I noticed was the representative (253098) did not have enough coffee made to fill a cup. Instead of preparing a fresh pot and asking me to wait, he tilted four different vats of coffee in an effort to fill one cup. I am 95% sure that he was mixing both decaf and regular.
It was the worst tasting, warm cup of coffee I have ever had from starbucks (ck3477). I should have walked away, and for that reason it was partially my fault. But if this is the way your representatives are trained then this will definitely be the last time I purchase anything from a hms location. If this is how starbucks trains their personnel, something is definitely lacking, so much for customer satisfaction.
online orders vs. customer service
It seems that since there is a boom in online ordering, the physical attention to customers has become secondary. Please train your staff in the downtown los angeles starbucks - bank of america building - to be courteous to your customers standing in line waiting behind all of the online orders. There must be a better balance for service with 2 cashiers, 2 baristas and a lobby of people standing around. You are very lucky that this is the only coffee shop around! Disgusted faces are not welcoming - from management down.
product and service
Store 2893 in the safeway store in hilo, hawaii. 96720 has to be the worst starbucks I have ever been to. Three separate occasions I wanted to order a veranda blend coffee. I was told they donʻt carry it. When I asked why do you have the sign right there stating you do - she gave me an... I donʻt know look. Another time I wanted to order a drink with whole milk instead of coconut milk and I was told, "youʻill ruin the whole taste of the drink by doing that". I like to get a cup of coffee after I finish shopping for my drive home... But since my horrible experiences with this particular place - I will walk down to target and get my cup for the drive home. They are much more friendlier and they have what I want. I didnʻt get the girlʻs name at the safeway store but sheʻs on the heavy set side has glasses and has big gauge earrings in her ears which she covers with band-aids. I will not be returning to that safeway starbucks ever.

mobile app
Twice now I have placed a mobile order ahead of time with ample enough time, my drinks were not ready for pick up. The whole purpose of the mobile app is to order ahead of time and receive your drinks instantaneously, when it's function is not working it is not only disappointing but is an extra disruption to the schedule. I feel when disruptions like this occur there should be compensation for a drink or an offer to make it up in someway neither of these were done.
employee behavior
Two employees engaged in sexual activity one of the employees amber baker is married the male was a luke maynor the husband of amber baker found out then chased luke into the back office trying to cause harm the managers in charge did nothing to anyone involved what might happen if they was caught again someone could get hurt I would feel safer if the 3 involved were banned from the property the employees involved work for starbucks and saboros
discourteous service
We visited a starbucks on feb. 25 and were treated rudely, if not outright contempt. The server at the counter stared at me with a nasty look on his face. I asked for a grande, he started filling a tall. When I corrected him, he threw the cup down and finished filling my order. When my wife's espresso was ready, the other server said nothing, simply putting it on the counter. It sat there a minute before we realized it was ready. I asked if it was ours, and they mumbled it was, without any hint of apology or courtesy.
barista named debbie burns
I walked into 728 walkegan rd. It was 3:48pm. I went to the starbucks in the barnes and noble. I was at the counter waiting in line. There was a 12 year old boy in front of me. The batista, who was the only person working at the time. Asked the boys name he was nervous and shy and did not respond right away. She looked at the boy and said, "I don't have time for this let's call you joe." I said to the boy, "is that your name?" he looked so upset and said, "no it's not, it's sam. I told the women to put his name on the cup. Then I paid for his drink and cookie. I then told the barista that was not ok to condescend and demean a child. Her response was,"well aren't you a sentive one."I then responded by saying."it is not ok to speak to anyone like this, do you have kids?"she said, yes three whatever." I then spoke to audrey the manager. She was nice and said she would talk to debbie. I was then sitting at a table doing work. I overheard debbie telling a customer what a [censor] I was. The women then started verbally attacking me! I told the manger aubrey again what this women was doing.
unethical behavior
I went to starbucks this morning and the two young ladies were very rude. The cashier and the key holder (manager) I spend more them $100 a week at start bucks and that will be the last time I visit that starbucks. I wanted to use a reward I have (I have 25 of them) and the cashier had rang me up and gave me a airline discount. I informed her prior to her entering the discount that I was using a star reward. She had to have the key holder come and remove the discount. Then very sarcastically asked me to tell the cashier next time before I make the purchase. I informed her that I did and the two young ladies started talking in spanish. That was very rude. This all occurred on 2/19/18 at 7:39am joanna and the manager were very rude, very bad customer service. That will be the last time I visit that starbucks. The transaction number was 548362.
rude for no reason
Just went to starbucks at tysons corner galleria. Have been there maybe 6 times in last 6 months. The lady barrista took my order and asked my name, which in "jim". Upon picking my order, I saw she had written "jrm" like in "germ" on the cup. I went back in line and showed this. She said this is how I spell jim. I asked if I had ever done anything to her to make her be this rude. Oh sorry!
language
I submit my molible order around 4pm at the starbucks on rosecrans and studerbaker. I sat down because my order wasn't ready, i'm listening to these 3 girls cursing and talking about they own personal life? They should have a little more training especially when you have customer in the lobby area. I didn't need to know how some girl was a "b[censor]" to her! I will never go there again, I will just go down the block to the next starbucks that has a little more respect and education. I really hope these girls get spoken too
service - slow and unfriendly
When visiting family in houston (northside) I frequent 2 locations that are close to my parents (1960 & champions forest and hwy 249 and cypresswood). At both locations, the staff has been engaged in talking amongst themselves on their headset - ignoring waiting customers and unfriendly. I usually order my drinks via the phone app - so I am thinking that the order will be ready when I get there (I usually go inside). Today, 1/25, I went to the 1960 location and the female barista was working on something behind the register - I was the only one in line. There was a gentleman that was servicing the window and another female cleaning out the oven. After taking my order, without staying near the register until the transaction was complete, she turned away from me and continued whatever she was doing. She did not attempt to make my drinks - she was the same employee (wears a knit skull cap) who was working the drinks last week when I came in to get a sandwich. I ordered it via the app and it was not available, she did not apologize for the inconvenience even though I had to stand in line to get the refund $ put back on my phone. I understand that in most cases, the locations are busy with walk in and drive through - but if they spent less time goofing off amongst themselves, maybe the drinks would be delivered faster...
employee
I am a regular customer at starbucks in st robert mo 65584. I have been aware of this stores manager (dalan) harassing her employees, yelling at them in front of customers!. I stop there almost everyday, and when she is on duty it feels like a very intense working environment. You can tell when an employee likes/dislikes their job. Most of the employees that I have dealt with are very good, very customer friendly. However there is a difference when the manager is present.
I have been in the workforce most of my life and I know when folks are being abused. There should be no work environment that appears to be a hostile work environment.
I hope that these employees receive some much deserved kudos for being able to work with this manager in charge.
Please intervene and make sure someone in charge knows that this message is from a customer, not an employee, due to reprisals.
Thank you, patricia wadleigh.
bad experience with barista at the piedmont avenue starbucks store (oakland, ca)
I was at the piedmont avenue (4098 piedmont ave., oakland, ca 94611) starbucks in oakland ca this afternoon (january 22, 2018; 4:15pm), ordering an espresso drink and bagels. I had a very bad experience with the barista who was making my espresso drink. She was distracted by a customer who was chatting with her, and she screwed up my order. When I brought this error to her attention, she was very rude and told me I would have to wait until she could re-do my order. She then proceeded to make three other drinks before she re-did my order. She then told me I shouldn't be upset that she screwed things up and that I had to wait. When I asked for her name (she was not wearing a tag), she refused to give it to me. I still hadn't received my bagels and brought this to her attention. She ignored me and walked away. I had to flag down another clerk to get my bagels. Needless to say I was very angry at the way I was treated. The rude barista was a woman in her 20's, heavyset, with thick black hair with blonde streaks on top. She has a very bad attitude and should not be working with the public. The other baristas at the piedmont avenue store are usually helpful and courteous.
We have received your comment. Thank you!
