We had a great relationship for years - until the company got really greedy. First, they told me that I was upgrading to "plus" for $49 a month; with no option to opt out. This was because I was paying them for their email service. Which was effective and decent and pulled from my sales, directly.
I demanded that they not "upgrade" us without consent. The CSRs were unable to do so. I was forced to accept their unacceptable terms, then only the CSR has the power to set me back to "free."
Upon doing this - I was cut off from my email distribution list of over 100 customers, who were used to seeing messages from me, weekly.
After this, I insisted on a refund for the month of October's email marketing that I had already paid for.
Those cheap [censored] only refunded me 3 weeks. They gave me $11 back on $16.
Looking for another way to take charges, now. You should, too.
Last month - I would have given them a 5 star review - then I pulled out the dagger they put in my back.
Claimed loss: We lost $200 on sales, that week.
Desired outcome: F*ck Jack Dorsey.

Forced upgrades and losing your 100 customer contacts is not a small billing issue, it is damage to your business. Demand in writing that Square restore your email list or provide an export, and give them 7 days. Then dispute the October email charge with your card issuer for services not delivered, since they cut you off mid month and refunded only part. File a complaint with your state attorney general and the FTC using the emails and your refund amount. Move your list to a provider that lets you export contacts.
